Legendary Person: I brought my skills back to reality!
Chapter 41 Race against time
A blinding white light flashed, and the scene before Xu Hao's eyes instantly changed. The dark, damp abandoned factory vanished, replaced by a deep, gloomy cave. The air was thick with the stench of decay, and the clattering of bones echoed all around.
Xu Hao blinked and found himself back in the familiar Skull Cave. The damp air was thick with the smell of decay, and the torches on the cave walls cast flickering shadows. He took a deep breath, feeling the flow of magic within his body, confirming that he had arrived safely.
"Thank goodness I got back in time," Xu Hao muttered to himself, his tense muscles relaxing slightly. He glanced around warily, his gaze quickly settling on a group of wandering skeletons not far away. Their empty eye sockets flickered with eerie blue flames, and their joints made unsettling clicking sounds.
Xu Hao gripped the crescent sword tightly, the cold hilt giving him strength. "24 hours, every second counts." He gritted his teeth, his eyes flashing with unwavering determination.
Taking a deep breath, Xu Hao charged towards the nearest skeleton. His left hand swiftly reached to his waist, producing a fire talisman. The talisman ignited in the air, transforming into a blazing fireball that struck the skeleton.
At the same time, Xu Hao held his sword in his right hand, the blade whistling sharply as it sliced through the air. "Hah!" With a roar, he concentrated all his strength into the tip of the sword and precisely cleaved towards the skull.
The fireball exploded with a deafening roar, engulfing the skeleton in flames. Xu Hao's longsword arrived in a flash, striking the already charred skull with a resounding crack. The skull shattered, and the entire skeleton collapsed to the ground with a thud.
Bones were scattered all over the ground. Xu Hao cautiously took two steps back to make sure the skeleton had completely disappeared. Just then, a familiar "ding" sounded in his ears, and the system notification came: "Congratulations on killing a skeleton warrior. You have gained 100 experience points."
Xu Hao breathed slightly, wiping the sweat from his forehead. This was just the beginning.
Without pausing, Xu Hao turned and pounced on another skeleton. His movements were lightning fast, the blade whistling sharply as it sliced through the air.
"Hah!" With a roar, he concentrated all his strength into the tip of his sword and cleaved precisely at the skeleton's breastbone. With a "crack," the skeleton broke apart and crashed to the ground.
"Ding!" The system notification sounded.
Xu Hao gave himself no chance to catch his breath and immediately turned to his next target. He pushed off the ground with both feet and charged towards another skeleton like an arrow. This time, he didn't use any spells but instead swung his sword directly.
The crescent sword drew a graceful arc, striking the skeleton's neck bone with precision. The sound of bones shattering was crisp and loud, and the skeleton's head flew high into the air. Xu Hao spun around smoothly, his longsword sweeping across, severing the skeleton's torso in half at the waist.
"Ding!" Another system notification sounded.
Sweat began to soak through Xu Hao's clothes, but he dared not stop for a moment. Time was life, and every second concerned his and Lin Ya's safety in the real world.
"Not fast enough! Not fast enough!" Xu Hao roared, his eyes burning with a frenzied fire. He began to charge into the horde of skeletons recklessly, swinging his longsword and hacking wildly.
A skeleton raised its bone blade to strike, but Xu Hao dodged to the side and simultaneously thrust his sword into the skeleton's eye socket. Another skeleton attacked from behind, but Xu Hao whirled around and swept it in half at the waist.
At this point, Xu Hao had almost run out of medicine and could only rely on healing spells to fight back. Whenever he was injured, he would quickly chant a spell, and a soft green light would envelop his entire body, healing his wounds at a speed visible to the naked eye.
At this moment, Xu Hao was fighting solely on his strong willpower.
The sound of bones shattering echoed throughout the room, white bone fragments flying like snowflakes. Xu Hao was covered in blood, but he didn't care. His eyes were only on the constantly increasing experience points, and each "ding" made him even more excited.
"Faster! Faster!" Xu Hao roared, charging back and forth through the horde of skeletons like a relentless killing machine. His swordsmanship grew increasingly fierce, each strike precisely hitting the skeletons' vital points. Bone fragments flew everywhere, and the cave echoed with the resounding crashes of skeletons falling to the ground.
As Xu Hao swung his sword to slay the skeletons, he quickly glanced at the experience points flashing on the system interface.
“75%…” he muttered to himself, the crescent sword in his hand flashing silver light as it precisely cleaved open the skull of a skeleton. Bone fragments flew everywhere, but Xu Hao didn’t stop, turning around and charging towards another skeleton.
A few hours later, he checked his experience points again. "84%..." Xu Hao took a deep breath, sweat streaming down his face. He gripped the hilt of his sword tightly, leaped up, and cleaved a tall skeleton warrior in two with a powerful slash.
The horde of skeletons seemed endless, but Xu Hao's movements grew increasingly swift. He formed a hand seal with his left hand, unleashing a fiery talisman, while his right hand thrust out his longsword like lightning. With a "ding," his experience points jumped again.
“91%…” Xu Hao murmured, a hint of joy flashing in his eyes. But he didn’t relax at all; instead, he quickened his attack pace. The crescent sword drew streaks of cold light in the air, and the sound of bones shattering was incessant.
When his experience points reached 97%, Xu Hao was covered in wounds and panting heavily. He wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth, his gaze sweeping over the remaining skeletons, a crazed fire burning in his eyes.
"Not enough!" Xu Hao roared, his voice hoarse. "We need to hurry!!"
He charged into the horde of skeletons once more, his longsword flashing like the wind, each strike hitting its mark precisely. Bone fragments flew everywhere, like an eerie white storm. Xu Hao's figure weaved through the skeletons like an unstoppable bolt of lightning.
He charged madly deeper into the cave, where more and stronger skeletons lurked. Each swing of his sword was imbued with all his strength, each kill accompanied by a roar.
Time ticked by, and Xu Hao's movements grew faster and more ruthless. His eyes were filled with nothing but crimson killing intent, as if he had forgotten who he was and why he was fighting.
The system notification finally sounded, and Xu Hao jolted awake, as if jolted from a dream. He gasped for breath and looked around. The mountain of bones on the ground silently testified to this frenzied slaughter.
"Finally... I've reached level 19." Xu Hao murmured, a glimmer of hope rekindling in his eyes. "Sister Lin Ya, wait for me, I'm coming back to save you!"
As the notification sound rang, Xu Hao's stats were quickly restored. He then opened the system panel to check his status:
