Legendary Person: I brought my skills back to reality!

Chapter 17 Questions in the Skull Cave

Xu Hao, panting heavily, leaned against the rock wall. He looked around; there were no dangerous monsters nearby.

He quickly cast a healing spell; a flash of white light, and Xu Hao was fully recovered.

"What the hell is this?! You might not encounter a top-tier half-orc warrior for eight hundred years, and then you just happen to run right into someone's axe!" Xu Hao spat out a mouthful of saliva.

"Once I'm all set, I'll kill every single one of those half-orc warriors I see!" Xu Hao thought fiercely, then pulled up the mini-map to check.

This time it's good; it's not far from the Skull Cave, just a few steps away.

Xu Hao jogged all the way and finally arrived at the entrance of the Skull Cave.

He took a deep breath, gripped the crescent moon in his hand, and strode inside.

The cave was dark and damp, with a stench of decay permeating the air.

Xu Hao looked around and found that the place was crowded with people, and players were fighting monsters everywhere.

"Wow, so many people?" Xu Hao scoffed. "Looks like we'll have to go deeper into the area."

He moved forward, passing through the crowded first and second floors, and arrived at the relatively quiet third floor.

The skeleton warriors here are noticeably more powerful, deterring many players.

Xu Hao found a secluded corner and began his monster-hunting journey.

He wielded a crescent-shaped blade with his left hand and continuously cast healing spells with his right, combining red and green poisons to fight with great enthusiasm.

Time flies, and before we knew it, it was late at night.

Xu Hao glanced at the level panel and couldn't help but smile with satisfaction: "Level 16, not bad, not bad."

Just then, a private message popped up.

"Huh? Ziyu?" Xu Hao opened the message.

"Brother Hao, where are you leveling up?" Zi Yu's voice came from behind.

"I'm on the third floor of the Skull Cave, what about you?" Xu Hao replied.

"Wow, that's amazing! Wait for me, I'm coming right away!" Zi Yu said excitedly.

Not long after, a girl dressed in a mage's robe appeared in front of Xu Hao.

"Brother Hao, I'm here!" Zi Yu greeted him with a smile.

"You came pretty fast, little girl," Xu Hao teased.

"That's right, I rushed here for Brother Hao!" Zi Yu blinked.

The two formed a team and began to work together seamlessly.

Xu Hao was responsible for melee damage and healing, while Zi Yu unleashed a barrage of magical damage from the rear.

"Brother Hao, your movement is amazing. And that poison, it really makes clearing things up so fast," Zi Yu exclaimed.

"Haha, that's right! I'm a well-known handsome young man in the surrounding area!" Xu Hao said proudly.

"Tch, so vain!" Zi Yu rolled her eyes, but the corners of her mouth turned up slightly.

The two chatted casually while fighting monsters, creating a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere, and their relationship continued to warm up.

"Hey, Hao-ge, when do you think we should leave the newbie village and move to Bichon City?" Zi Yu suddenly asked.

"Huh? Why are you suddenly bringing this up?" Xu Hao was taken aback.

“We still have to go. We moved to Bichon City, which is closer to the Skull Cave and the mine.” Zi Yu blinked.

“Hmm… how about this?” Xu Hao waved his hand. “This time when we go back, we won’t go back to Ginkgo Manor. We’ll go to Bichon City. Don’t you still need to rent an inn there? Let’s move to Bichon City and continue fighting in the Skull Cave. Once you’ve learned the Lightning spell and I’ve learned how to summon skeletons, we’ll go to the mine to fight zombies.”

“Okay, I’ll listen to Brother Hao,” Zi Yu’s eyes lit up.

This is the advantage of being an experienced player. Although the Purple Rain system has a beginner's guide, determining which level and place is the most efficient for fighting depends more on experience.

"Ahem, let's fight monsters," Xu Hao said.

The two continued to focus on killing monsters, and Xu Hao then thought of another question and asked Zi Yu.

"Xiaoyu, I have another question." Xu Hao paused for a moment before asking a question he had only recently come to realize:

Have you ever seen those max-level accounts?

Zi Yu, who was casting a fireball spell from behind, was slightly taken aback upon hearing this: "A max-level character? I haven't seen that before. Why are you suddenly asking this?"

Xu Hao sidestepped the skeleton warrior's longsword and slashed it down with a backhand strike: "I just find it strange. Logically speaking, this world should have existed for quite some time. At the current leveling speed, a large number of high-level players should appear in two or three years."

As he spoke, he quickly scanned his surroundings: "But we've been here for so long, and most of the people we've seen are dressed in simple clothes and light armor. It's rare to see anyone wearing level 22 equipment. The highest level we've seen is a mage wearing a demon robe that day."

This is a problem Xu Hao only recently discovered, even though he's been wandering around in newbie villages. This legendary world has probably existed for quite some time, and judging by the current leveling speed, it's roughly the same as the real-life version of the classic MMORPG.

If that were the case, within two or three years, divine beasts like Moon Spirits should be everywhere, and Heavenly Demon Armor should be as useless as dogs.

However, after wandering around for so long, most of the people he saw were wearing light armor and cloth clothes. It was rare to see anyone wearing level 22 clothes. The highest level he had ever seen was a male mage wearing a demon robe.

Where did all those max-level characters go?

Zi Yu nodded thoughtfully, continuing to cast her spell as she replied, "Indeed, I haven't seen any particularly powerful players. However, I've heard that some high-level players venture to more distant places, such as Shabak City and Fengmo Valley."

Xu Hao frowned slightly: "That doesn't make sense either. Logically, someone should come back to show off or mentor new talent."

I've done this before, when I'm bored and want to go to Ginkgo Manor to take on an apprentice and show off.

Just then, a skeleton warrior suddenly spawned and attacked from the side. Xu Hao reacted quickly, rolling to dodge the attack while shouting, "Xiaoyu, watch out!"

Zi Yu immediately took two steps back, followed by a fireball. Xu Hao used both red and green poison in quick succession, freezing the skeleton warrior in place. Xu Hao seized the opportunity to move forward and quickly dispatched it.

"Phew, that was close." Xu Hao wiped the sweat from his forehead. "Looks like we need to find a safe place to study this problem properly."

Zi Yu nodded: "Yes, it is indeed very strange. Perhaps we can find out more information when we get to Bichon City."

The two exchanged a glance and tacitly continued to grind monsters, but this question had planted a seed in Xu Hao's mind.

Where have all the big ones gone?

Shi Shaowei was in his office when the door was suddenly pushed open, and a young subordinate rushed in.

"Reporting, Captain!" The young man stood at attention and saluted. "A strange incident has occurred at Wancheng District Children's Hospital. Three hospitalized children are currently unconscious. The hospital has organized experts and tried every method, but they still can't find the cause! This incident is tentatively classified as Level D!"

Shi Shaowei frowned, took out a pack of cigarettes from the drawer, lit one, and took a deep drag. He stood up, walked to the window, and looked at the bustling city outside.

"We've only been resting for a few days, and they're already causing trouble again?" he muttered to himself, then turned to his subordinates. "What are the details?"

The young man immediately reported: "The three children are 5, 6, and 9 years old, and they were all hospitalized for the common cold. Last night, the nurses found them all unconscious during rounds. The hospital immediately organized a consultation with experts and conducted a comprehensive examination, including blood tests and brain CT scans, but no abnormalities were found."

Shi Shaowei nodded, seemingly lost in thought. He walked back to his desk and stubbed out his cigarette in the ashtray.

"However..." he smiled slightly, "a D-level bizarre incident is perfect for training newcomers!"

After saying that, he took out his phone and quickly scrolled through his contacts. He found the name "Xu Hao".
