Legendary Person: I brought my skills back to reality!
Chapter 1: Entering the Legendary World
Xu Hao stood at the entrance of the 4S store, looking at the empty showroom, a bitter feeling welling up inside him. Another day had passed, and not a single car had been sold.
"Xu Hao, your performance this month is at the bottom again." Colleague Li Meihua swayed over, her pert buttocks as alluring as a walking peach, but her tone was sarcastic. "If this continues, you might get fired."
Xu Hao clenched his fists, suppressing his anger. He knew his recent performance had indeed been poor, but the main reason was undoubtedly the woman in front of him.
The customers who were supposed to be served by him were always snatched away by Li Meihua. It's no wonder, who wouldn't want to buy something from a flirtatious female salesperson with a sweet voice?
Especially if you buy a high-end car and aren't too insistent on haggling, you can often get some unexpected gains. For some unscrupulous people, it's just a matter of using their legs – zero cost, high return.
"Xu Hao, come to my office." The manager's voice came from behind, his tone icy.
Xu Hao took a deep breath and followed the manager into the office.
"Xu Hao, look at your performance this month. You've been at the bottom for three consecutive months." The manager pointed to the data on the computer screen. "The company doesn't support idlers. You'd better figure out how to handle this yourself."
Xu Hao felt a pang of grievance. "Manager, I really have tried my best..."
"Work hard? I think you're just wasting your time!" the manager interrupted him. "Don't think I don't know you spend all day slacking off and playing games. Either improve your performance, or pack your bags and leave!"
Actually, this is unfair to Xu Hao; he was quite diligent at work. But that's how sales is—if you can't sell anything, even a dog won't take you seriously.
Xu Hao was doing quite well, but the economic downturn has cast a pall over the entire car sales market.
Especially after Xu Hao accidentally stumbled upon Li Meihua and the manager's affair, the two of them kept harassing him, one stealing his clients and the other causing him trouble for no reason.
Xu Hao clenched his fists, his chest burning with rage. He thought back to the day he'd inadvertently seen the manager hastily pulling up his pants, and his ashen face. He abruptly stood up.
"You don't need to rush me, I'll walk by myself!"
After saying that, Xu Hao turned around and slammed the door shut, leaving the manager dumbfounded.
Back in his rented apartment, Xu Hao slumped onto the sofa, his mind filled with mixed emotions. Quitting his job was easy, but what should he do next?
Just as he was frowning in worry, there was a knock on the door. When he opened it, a beautiful and mature woman stood there.
It was Lin Ya, Xu Hao's landlord. Today was the 15th, and it was rent payment day again.
"Xiao Xu, I see you got off work pretty early today?" Lin Ya said as she walked into the room. Although it was rent collection day, Lin Ya didn't mention it at all.
Lin Ya was actually quite a pitiful person. Her husband passed away from illness not long after their marriage, leaving such a beautiful woman as a widow. Fortunately, he left behind a lot of real estate, so Lin Ya's life wasn't too difficult; she could live comfortably by collecting rent.
But for some unknown reason, the beautiful widow, who is only 28 years old this year, has never remarried.
Unlike the nasty landlords on TV, Lin Ya never pressured for rent, never did anything like inspecting the house with a lantern, and was always polite to everyone, especially taking good care of Xu Hao.
As for whether she was waiting for Xu Hao to say, "Sister, I don't want to work hard anymore," outsiders have no way of knowing.
Xu Hao gave a wry smile. "Sister Lin, I...I resigned."
Lin Ya was startled. "What happened? You were doing so well, why did you suddenly quit?"
Xu Hao briefly recounted what had happened, and Lin Ya comforted him after listening, saying, "Don't be discouraged. Take your time with finding a job, and don't worry about the rent yet."
"Sister Lin, you're so kind," Xu Hao said, touched. "But I can't always trouble you..."
Lin Ya interrupted him with a smile, "We're like family, helping each other out when we're in trouble, isn't that what we should do? How about this, I'll lend you some money for emergencies, and you can pay me back when you find a job."
Xu Hao hesitated for a moment, then shook his head. "Thank you, Sister Lin, but I can't trouble you any further. I'll figure something out."
Seeing his insistence, Lin Ya didn't press him any further. "Alright then, let me know if you need anything."
As Lin Ya was leaving, she hesitated, then simply patted Xu Hao's shoulder gently. In that instant, Xu Hao felt a strange warmth, but he quickly suppressed it. He dared not, and could not, hope for anything.
After seeing Lin Ya off, Xu Hao felt even more depressed. He turned on his computer and, as if possessed, clicked on "Legend of Mir," a game he hadn't played in a long time.
"Let's relax first, we can talk about job hunting tomorrow," Xu Hao muttered to himself.
As the familiar music played, Xu Hao felt as if he had returned to his carefree student days. He controlled his character to adventure in the game world, gradually forgetting the troubles of reality.
Just then, the screen suddenly flickered, and a blinding white light flashed by.
Xu Hao felt everything go black before his eyes, and then he knew nothing more.
After the blinding white light dissipated, Xu Hao found himself in an unfamiliar wasteland. In the distance, he could vaguely see an ancient town, surrounded by dense forests and rolling mountains.
"Where is this?" Xu Hao looked around in surprise, his mind filled with doubt.
Just then, a mechanical voice rang in his mind:
"Welcome to the world of Legend of Mir. Please choose your class: Warrior, Mage, or Taoist."
Xu Hao's eyes widened in disbelief as he muttered to himself, "This scene is all too familiar to me."
Isn't this just like the starting village in Legend of Mir?
He pinched his face, the pain clearly audible. Everything around him was incredibly lifelike; it was definitely not a virtual game scene.
"What on earth is going on?" Xu Hao was both excited and terrified, his heart pounding.
The system prompt sounded again: "Please make a choice within 30 seconds, otherwise you will be randomly assigned a profession."
The voice snapped Xu Hao out of his daze. He took a deep breath, trying to calm himself down. He recalled his past gaming experiences and quickly made a decision:
"I choose the Taoist priest!"
As soon as he finished speaking, a warm current flowed through his entire body. Xu Hao felt that his physical condition and mental strength had been greatly enhanced.
"Career selection complete. Welcome to the Fama Continent beginner village, warrior."
As the system notification faded, Xu Hao finally realized that everything before him was real. He clenched his fist, a determined glint in his eyes.
"Since I've come into this world, I must live it well." Xu Hao made up his mind. "I must become stronger and find my way home!"
He started walking towards the starting village in the distance, his heart filled with both fear of the unknown and anticipation for adventure.
Along the way, Xu Hao constantly observed his surroundings. The air was filled with the faint scent of grass and trees, and the chirping of birds could be heard in the distance. All of this felt incredibly real to him.
"I wonder if Sister Lin Ya will worry about me..." Xu Hao suddenly thought of his landlord and felt a pang of guilt.
The little things in life kept flashing through Xu Hao's mind. This beautiful landlady took care of him like an older sister, allowing Xu Hao, who had lost his parents at a young age, to feel the long-lost warmth of family.
"If I could go back, I would definitely pursue Sister Lin Ya!" Xu Hao secretly vowed.
