Keyboard Warrior's Otherworldly Adventure
Chapter 46 The Girl in the Cave
Linna's fear was not unfounded. Li Jin's changes went far beyond his appearance. Xiaobai, Xiaomei's pet, seemed harmless, but in reality possessed a special ability—mimicry. It could perfectly replicate the form and abilities of other creatures, even mimicking their memories and some thought patterns.
Having merged with Xiaobai's soul, Li Jin inherited this heaven-defying ability. He slowly stood up, spread his newly grown wings, and felt the power surging within him. His blood-red eyes were fixed on Lin Na, a wicked smile playing on his lips: "Surprised? Does she look familiar?"
His voice had also changed; it was no longer the slightly cowardly keyboard warrior tone of before, but was now full of magnetism and had a touch of cynicism.
Linna's heart sank. That voice, that look, that posture... reminded her of someone, someone she once deeply revered yet also deeply hated—her master, the most powerful magician in the other world, the white-robed saint.
"You...you are..." Linna's voice trembled slightly, unable to believe what she was seeing.
"You guessed right, but there's no reward." Li Jin mimicked the white-robed saint's tone, speaking slowly and deliberately. At the same time, he gently waved his right hand, and a lightsaber formed from pure energy appeared out of thin air. This was the white-robed saint's signature weapon.
Lin Na panicked completely. The white-robed saint was someone even she could only look up to. She never expected that Li Jin could actually replicate his abilities.
"Now, it's my turn." Li Jin smiled wickedly, and in a flash, he appeared in front of Lin Na. The lightsaber drew a graceful arc, aiming straight for Lin Na's throat.
Linna dodged hastily, narrowly avoiding the fatal blow. But before she could even catch her breath, Li Jin's attack came again. The lightsaber rained down like a storm, forcing Linna to retreat repeatedly.
"Impossible! How could you possibly replicate his power completely!" Linna shouted incredulously as she parried Li Jin's attacks.
"Who said I completely copied it?" Li Jin chuckled mockingly. "I only copied Xiaobai's memories. It had witnessed the White-Robed Saint's attack, so I can imitate it to a great extent. That's enough to deal with you."
"Damn it!" Lin Na cursed under her breath. She realized she had underestimated Xiao Bai's abilities and Li Jin's potential. She had originally thought Li Jin was just a small fry with a bit of cleverness, someone she could easily crush. But now it seemed he was the real wolf in sheep's clothing.
The battle continued, with Li Jin growing increasingly fierce, displaying the white-robed saint's swordsmanship to its fullest extent. Lin Na, on the other hand, was forced to retreat steadily, sustaining several shocking wounds on her body.
"Admit defeat, you are no match for me." Li Jin stopped his attack, looking down at Lin Na with contempt in his eyes.
"Don't even think about it!" Linna said through gritted teeth, her eyes flashing with a crazed light. "Even if I die, I will never submit to you!"
Suddenly, she pulled a black crystal ball from her bosom and crushed it. A powerful burst of dark energy erupted instantly, shattering the surrounding trees.
"This is... a forbidden dark technique!" Li Jin's expression changed. He hadn't expected Lin Na to use such a suicidal move.
The black energy rapidly enveloped Linna, forming a massive black sphere. The sphere continued to expand, emanating a suffocating sense of oppression.
"Li Jin, let's die together!" Lin Na laughed maniacally, her voice filled with despair and resentment.
Li Jin cursed under his breath and hurriedly flapped his wings, trying to escape. But just then, the black sphere suddenly exploded, and a powerful shockwave swept over him, sending him flying...
When Li Jin woke up again, he found himself lying in an unfamiliar cave. He struggled to sit up, feeling sore all over and dizzy.
"Xiaobai, are you alright?" Li Jin called out to Xiaobai in his heart.
"Chirp chirp..." A faint sound rang in his mind, seemingly carrying a hint of pain.
Li Jin's heart sank; it seemed Xiao Bai had also suffered a serious injury. He quickly checked his own body and found that apart from some superficial wounds, he was otherwise unharmed.
"Thank goodness, the system is still working." Li Jin breathed a sigh of relief and brought up the system interface to check.
Suddenly, a raggedly dressed girl stumbled into the cave. Seeing Li Jin, she was startled at first, then exclaimed with delight, "You...you're awake!"
Li Jin looked at the girl before him. She had long, disheveled blonde hair, delicate features, and although she was dirty, her noble air couldn't be concealed. This…isn't this Sophie? But how did she end up like this?
