"Men in black..." Li Jin's throat felt like it was being choked by an invisible hand, and he managed to utter those two words with difficulty. He struggled to get up, but the movement aggravated the injury to his ribs, and a sharp pain made him groan.

The man in black slowly entered the room, each step feeling like it was treading on Li Jin's heart, giving him a suffocating sense of oppression. His scarlet eyes gleamed in the darkness, like a demon from hell, greedily eyeing its prey.

"What...what do you want to do?" Li Jin endured the pain, trying his best to remain calm. He knew that fear would only make him more vulnerable.

The man in black did not speak, but slowly raised his right hand. A ball of black energy condensed in his hand, radiating a chilling aura.

Li Jin's heart sank to the bottom. He knew he was no match for this man in black. He was still recovering from serious injuries, struggling even to stand, let alone fight this dangerous-looking fellow. Damn it! Where's the system? Why did it fail me at this crucial moment!

"System! System! Are you there? Come out now!" Li Jin frantically called out to the system in his mind, but there was no response.

Could the system have malfunctioned as well? This thought plunged Li Jin into utter despair.

Just then, Amy suddenly rushed in front of Li Jin, spread her arms to shield him, and shouted at the man in black, "Don't hurt him!"

Li Jin's heart skipped a beat; he hadn't expected Amy to stand in front of him at this moment.

The man in black stared coldly at Amy with his crimson eyes, a cruel smile playing on his lips. The black energy sphere in his hand suddenly expanded, and a powerful pressure instantly enveloped the entire room.

"Amy! Get out of the way!" Li Jin roared, trying to push Amy away, but found that he couldn't move at all.

Amy ignored Li Jin's calls and stood there firmly, her eyes filled with determination.

"Are you... are you crazy? Go away!" Li Jin's voice trembled. He didn't want to see Amy get hurt because of him.

Amy turned to Li Jin with a gentle smile and said softly, "Li Jin, I told you, I believe in you. You will definitely be able to rescue Sophie."

Then, she resolutely turned around, faced the man in black, and closed her eyes.

Li Jin felt as if his heart was being torn apart; the intense pain made it almost impossible for him to breathe.

Just as the black energy ball was about to hit Amy, a beam of white light suddenly shot out from Li Jin's chest, enveloping Amy within it.

As the white light faded, Amy's figure disappeared.

Li Jin was stunned; he couldn't believe his eyes. Amy... had disappeared?

"System... is that you?" Li Jin asked in his mind.

"Host, the emergency plan has been activated, and the target has been teleported to a safe location." The system's voice finally rang in Li Jin's mind.

Li Jin breathed a sigh of relief; thankfully, Amy was alright.

"A safe place? Where is she?" Li Jin asked hurriedly.

"Sorry, host, this information is confidential and cannot be disclosed," the system replied coldly.

"Confidential? You've taken my girlfriend somewhere you don't even know where, and you're telling me this is confidential?" Li Jin was furious, wishing he could drag the system out and beat it up.

"Host, please watch your words. I am doing this to protect the safety of the target." The system remained unmoved.

"Protect her? Is this how you protect her? By sending her to a place I don't know about?" Li Jin said through gritted teeth.

Just as Li Jin was arguing with the system, the man in black raised his right hand again, and the black energy ball condensed once more.

"It seems you're not planning to cooperate obediently," the man in black said with a sneer.

Li Jin took a deep breath. He knew this wasn't the time to argue with the system. He had to deal with the guy in front of him first.

"System, activate combat mode for me!" Li Jin silently chanted in his mind.

"Sorry, host, your physical condition does not allow you to fight." The system ruthlessly rejected Li Jin's request.

"I..." Li Jin felt like he was about to collapse. His injuries hadn't healed, the system had malfunctioned, his girlfriend had been captured, and now he couldn't even activate combat mode. Could things get any worse?

The man in black approached step by step, the black energy ball in his hand radiating an increasingly powerful pressure, as if it would explode at any moment.
