The sudden news struck like a thunderbolt, instantly pulling Li Jin and Su Fei back from their romantic moment. Su Fei's expression changed drastically; her previous shyness was instantly replaced by worry and anxiety. She grabbed the guard's arm and asked urgently, "What did you say? Lin Na is back? How many people did she bring? What's the situation?"

The guard, catching his breath, said haltingly, "Lin...Linna, with a large number of dark creatures...has breached...breached the northern defenses of the Elf Forest! Now...now they're...advancing towards the royal city!"

"Damn it!" Sophie cursed under her breath, shoved the guard aside, and turned to run towards the palace. "Li Jin, come with me!"

Li Jin realized the seriousness of the situation and, not daring to delay, quickly followed. The two ran all the way and soon returned to the Elf King's palace.

Chaos reigned within the palace, elven guards rushing about, their expressions panicked. The Elven King stood in the center of the hall, his face ashen, his staff gripped tightly. Seeing Li Jin and Sophie enter, he said in a low voice, "Linna's offensive is far more intense than we anticipated; it seems she planned this all along."

"Father, what do we do now?" Sophie asked anxiously.

The Elf King took a deep breath, forcing himself to calm down. "Now we can only activate the Elven race's ultimate defensive magic circle. But this magic circle requires a lot of magic power, and it takes a long time to activate. We need to buy some time."

"I'll go hold Lin Na off!" Li Jin volunteered.

The Elf King gave Li Jin a deep look and said in a low voice, "Li Jin, I know you are very strong, but Linna is not easy to deal with either. You must be careful."

"Don't worry, I'll be fine." Li Jin smiled confidently and turned to leave.

"Wait!" Sophie called out to him, "I'll go with you!"

Li Jin frowned. "No, it's too dangerous. It's safer for you to stay here."

"No, I want to go with you!" Sophie said firmly. "I am the princess of the elves, and it is my responsibility to protect my people!"

Li Jin wanted to persuade her further, but seeing Sophie's resolute gaze, he knew it would be useless to say anything. He sighed and nodded helplessly, "Alright, but you must stay close to me and never leave my sight."

"Yes!" Sophie nodded emphatically.

Without further delay, the two quickly left the palace and sped towards the northern defense line of the elven forest.

Along the way, Li Jin and Sophie encountered many fleeing elves. They were all panicked, their faces filled with fear. Seeing this, Li Jin felt a pang of heaviness in his heart. He knew that this war would bring immense disaster to the elves.

"Li Jin, look!" Sophie suddenly pointed ahead and said.

Li Jin looked in the direction Sophie was pointing and saw that the sky in the distance was fiery red with thick smoke, indicating that a fierce battle had taken place.

"It seems we're too late," Li Jin said in a deep voice.

The two quickened their pace and rushed towards the direction of the firelight.

When they arrived at the scene, the sight before them shocked them. The northern defenses of the Elven Forest had been completely destroyed, with ruins everywhere and raging flames turning the night sky crimson. The Elven warriors were fighting desperately against Linna's dark creatures, but were clearly at a disadvantage.

Linna stood in the center of the battlefield, clad in a long black robe, a cold smile on her face. She held a black staff in her hand, continuously unleashing powerful dark magic. Around her were countless dark creatures, their faces grotesque, emitting chilling roars.

"Lina, you crazy woman, what exactly do you want to do?" Sophie shouted angrily.

Hearing Sophie's voice, Linna turned around, a sinister smile spreading across her face. "Princess Sophie, long time no see. I never expected to see you here. It's quite a surprise."

"Lina, why did you do this? Why did you attack the elves?" Sophie questioned.

"Why?" Linna laughed heartily, "Of course, it's to obtain the sacred relic of the elves—the Tree of Life! With it, I can rule the entire other world!"

"Don't even think about it!" Sophie drew her sword, pointing it at Linna. "I will absolutely not let you succeed!"

Linna scoffed. "You? Princess Sophie, you're too naive. Do you still think you're the high and mighty princess you used to be? Now you're nothing but a stray dog!"

"You..." Sophie trembled with anger.

"Alright, Sophie, stop wasting your breath on her." Li Jin patted Sophie on the shoulder. "Leave it to me."

Li Jin walked up to Sophie, his gaze icy as he stared at Lin Na. "Lin Na, today is your death day!"

As soon as Li Jin finished speaking, he suddenly felt a sharp pain in his back...
