Keyboard Warrior's Otherworldly Adventure

Chapter 23 The Fiery Phoenix Soars Through the Sky

The potion's effects were like a volcanic eruption, instantly igniting a raging fire within Li Jin's body. The broken bones emitted a teeth-grinding grinding sound, yet miraculously and swiftly reset. The torn muscle fibers reconnected, and a surge of power filled his limbs and bones. Li Jin grinned, a bloodthirsty red light flashing in his eyes.

"Old man, you think this is the end of it?" Li Jin's voice was low and hoarse, like the whisper of a demon from hell.

Old John's surprise quickly turned into solemnity. This kid actually had such a trump card! He waved his cane, and an invisible energy wave spread out, causing the flowers, plants, and trees in the valley to wither and die instantly, as if their life force had been drained.

"A mere trick!" Li Jin scoffed disdainfully. With the system's support, he was no pushover. He flashed, appearing behind Old John like a ghost. His rusty short sword drew a sharp arc, aiming straight for Old John's back.

Old John reacted extremely quickly, slamming his cane on the ground and then miraculously drifting backward, narrowly avoiding Li Jin's fatal blow.

"Interesting," old John said with a sinister smile. "Looks like I underestimated you."

"You only realize it now? Too late!" Li Jin pressed forward relentlessly, his short sword blurring into a blur, enveloping Old John.

The two engaged in a fierce chase through the valley. Relying on the speed and strength granted by the system, Li Jin relentlessly attacked Old John. Although Old John was experienced, he gradually began to struggle against Li Jin's relentless fighting style.

"Damn system, can't you give me a more awesome weapon? This broken sword has been hacking at him for ages and it hasn't even scratched a layer of his skin!" Li Jin complained in his mind as he attacked.

The system responded emotionlessly: "The host's current level is too low to unlock higher-level weapons."

"I..." Li Jin almost spat out a mouthful of blood. This damn system, it failed him at the crucial moment!

Just then, Old John seized the moment when Li Jin was distracted and slammed his cane hard into Li Jin's chest.

"Pfft!" Li Jin spat out another mouthful of blood, his body flying backward like a kite with a broken string.

"Kid, you're not bad, but you're still too green." Old John slowly walked up to Li Jin, looking down at him. "Now, you can die."

Li Jin struggled to get up, but found that he could not move his body.

"Am I really going to die here today?" Despair welled up inside him. He was unwilling to accept it. He still had so much to do. He still had to go back to see Amy. He still had to...

Just at this critical moment, a clear bird song pierced the sky.

Immediately afterwards, a huge, fiery red bird descended from the sky, its sharp claws slashing fiercely at Old John.

Old John's expression changed drastically, and he quickly waved his cane to defend himself.

"boom!"

With a loud crash, old John was struck by the giant bird's talons and sent flying, crashing heavily to the ground, his fate unknown.

The giant bird landed slowly, and a petite figure jumped off its back.

"Li Jin! Are you alright?"

The visitor was none other than Sophie!

"Sophie? Why are you back?" Li Jin looked at her in surprise.

Sophie ran to Li Jin's side, helped him up, and asked anxiously, "How badly are you hurt?"

Li Jin shook his head. "He won't die."

"That's wonderful!" Sophie cried tears of joy and hugged Li Jin tightly.

Li Jin was stunned for a moment, then hugged Su Fei back. Feeling her soft body and warm temperature, a strange feeling welled up in his heart.

"Ahem..." Xiaomei, holding Xiaobai, stood to the side and coughed awkwardly twice. "Hey you two, this isn't the time for you to be all lovey-dovey, is it?"

Li Jin and Su Fei then realized what was happening and quickly separated.

"Xiaomei, what brings you here?" Li Jin asked.

"I was worried about you!" Xiaomei said matter-of-factly. "Besides, Xiaobai said it could sense that you were in danger."

Li Jin looked down at Xiao Bai and saw that Xiao Bai was looking at him with a pair of big, watery eyes, her eyes full of concern.

"Thank you, Xiaobai." Li Jin patted Xiaobai's head.

"Chirp chirp!" Little White affectionately rubbed against Li Jin's hand.

Suddenly, a gust of cold wind swept in, and a dark figure slowly emerged from the depths of the valley...
