"Go back to City C now?" Gao Zhiyuan was a little dumbfounded.

"Uh, okay, I'll check right away." But he immediately realized what he was doing and picked up his phone to check the flights.

"Mr. Yu, the earliest flight is at 5 a.m., but there is a high-speed train in two hours."

“Then book high-speed rail tickets, and come back with me.” Yu Heng chose a black camel hair coat.

"Okay, Mr. Yu, shall I go pack my luggage now?" Gao Zhiyuan had already bought the tickets.

"I'll just go back and stay for a day or two," Yu Heng said. As for whether Gao Zhiyuan should pack his bags, that was up to him.

"Go down and call Qingxu up. I want to tell him I'm going out." Yu Heng raised his hand to check the time. It would take a little over an hour to get to the high-speed rail station from here, so there was still plenty of time.

He packed a few personal belongings, told Yang Qingxu that he was going back to City C for two days, and asked Yang Qingxu to let his family know the next day.

Then Yu Heng took Gao Zhiyuan onto the high-speed train.

On a winter morning, before dawn, a biting chill filled the air. The cold wind, like an invisible beast, howled and swept through the streets and alleys, wreaking havoc.

The sanitation workers had already begun their work, braving the cold, brooms in hand, diligently sweeping the streets. The sound of the brooms scraping against the ground was particularly clear in the quiet morning.

Yu Heng sat in the back seat of the car, raised his right hand, and gently pinched the bridge of his nose with his thumb and forefinger.

Yu Heng didn't get a good night's rest and only managed to doze off for a while on the high-speed train. He still looks a bit tired.

"Is this the place?" Yu Heng and his group parked their car below Building 3 of the Brilliant City residential complex in Jinghe District, City C.

“Yes, this is the home address listed in Assistant Chu’s file.” Gao Zhiyuan sat in the passenger seat. He had called the company driver to come and drive, as he hadn’t slept well the night before and was afraid to drive.

Yu Heng picked up his phone and dialed Chu Anlan's number.

The phone rang for a while before Chu Anlan answered.

"Hello?" His voice was muffled, as if he were still in a half-dreaming state.

"Still not up?" Yu Heng looked at his watch when he heard his voice; it was indeed seven o'clock.

"Huh? Ah! Yu Heng! Why are you up so early?" Chu Anlan was clearly surprised to hear Yu Heng's voice.

"It's getting late, I'd like to have breakfast with you," Yu Heng said gently.

"I didn't go to sleep until after 1 a.m. yesterday! You eat first, I want to sleep a little longer." Chu Anlan's tone unconsciously carried a hint of coquetry. He thought Yu Heng wanted to have breakfast at the same time as him. But he was too sleepy right now and didn't want to get up.

“But I’m downstairs from you,” Yu Heng dropped a bombshell on him.

"...What???" Chu Anlan instantly snapped back to reality.

He threw off the covers and ran barefoot out of the room; from the living room window, he could see the main entrance of the building.

He opened the window and peeked out, and sure enough, he saw a black minivan parked on the path in front of the building.

"You're back? You're not kidding me! Did you come all this way just to wait for me? Wait for me, I'm coming down right away!" Chu Anlan excitedly ran back to her room.

"Okay, I'll wait for you." Yu Heng smiled slightly.

"I'm going to change, I'll hang up now." Chu Anlan didn't wait for Heng's reply, and as soon as she hung up the phone, she started rummaging through her drawers looking for clothes.

After changing my clothes, I hurriedly started washing up.

"Are you going out now?" Chu's father was preparing breakfast when he saw Chu Anlan running out and then making a racket in the room, so he came in to check on her.

Just then, I saw Chu Anlan dressed neatly, looking like she was about to go out.

"Yes, I have something to do." Chu Anlan looked a little guilty when she saw her father.

However, Chu's father didn't press him for details: "Have breakfast before you go?"

"No need, I'll go out to eat." Chu Anlan put on her shoes, opened the door, and replied to her father without turning her head.

"When are you coming back?" Mr. Chu chased after her, opened the door, and asked Chu Anlan, who was waiting for the elevator.

"Let's do it tonight!" Chu Anlan's voice came from inside the elevator as the doors opened.

After Yu Heng hung up the phone, Gao Zhiyuan got out of the car and waited outside. When he saw Chu Anlan come out of the building, he quickly opened the car door and said, "Young Master Chu, please!"

Today, Chu Anlan wore a white turtleneck sweater and a hazy blue down jacket, making her look fresh and elegant.

"Thank you." After thanking Gao Zhiyuan, Chu Anlan saw Yu Heng smiling at him from inside the car. He got into the car and threw himself into Yu Heng's arms.

"Weren't you supposed to stay in Qixiang City until after the Lantern Festival? Why are you back so soon?" Chu Anlan wrapped her arms tightly around Yu Heng's waist and buried her face in his neck.

“Didn’t you say this is our first New Year? It would be such a shame if we couldn’t spend it together?” Yu Heng stroked the back of his head with one hand.

"You came so early, didn't you sleep last night?" Chu Anlan looked up at Yu Heng's tired face and tenderly stroked his cheek.

Yu Heng raised his other hand and covered Chu Anlan's hand, then turned his head slightly and rubbed his face against Chu Anlan's palm: "Can you tell? I rested at the hotel for a while."

Yu Heng thought it was because he looked too pale. He had taken a cold shower at the hotel before coming here, afraid that his boyfriend would see him looking so listless.

Chu Anlan knelt on the car seat with her legs spread apart, cupped Yu Heng's face in her hands, and chuckled, "You were still in Qixiang City when you video-chatted with me last night, and now you're in C City this morning. Can you teleport or something?"

Yu Heng chuckled softly, realizing he had been mistaken.

He hugged Chu Anlan, and with a forceful pull, lifted him onto his lap.

"Ah!" Chu Anlan was startled by his sudden movement and reached out to hug Yu Heng's neck.

Yu Heng buried his head in Chu Anlan's chest and took a few deep breaths: "Then after breakfast, will you come with me to the hotel to rest for a while?"

"Alright, I didn't get enough sleep last night either, so I'll just take a nap." Chu Anlan rested her chin on Yu Heng's head.

What do you want to eat later?

"Let's go to Zhengda Street for wontons? There's a husband-and-wife wonton shop there that's pretty good. I haven't been there in ages, and I'm really craving it." Chu Anlan couldn't help but smack her lips as she thought about the taste of the wontons from that shop.

Upon hearing his voice, Yu Heng couldn't help but laugh out loud, the vibration of his chest causing Chu Anlan to tremble slightly as well.

"Are you laughing at me?" Chu Anlan asked angrily, slapping Yu Heng on the shoulder.

Yu Heng grabbed his hand, his smile still on his face: "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to."

After saying that, she hugged Chu Anlan's head and gently kissed his lips: "Forgive me?"

They pressed their foreheads together: "Hmph! I'll never forgive you!..."

Listening to the young couple in the back seat whispering sweet nothings to each other without a care in the world, Gao Zhiyuan felt a toothache. He could only pretend to be paying attention to the road conditions with the driver, like two machines.
