Chapter 6 Doing Some Work

Cheng Yiyi glared angrily at Huang Qiaqia and scolded him in a low voice.

"I'm telling you, I'm recording this, I'm recording this. Can't you understand human language?"

With her eyebrows raised in anger, Yue Jiaorui stared intently at Huang Qiaqia with eyes that seemed to cut with a knife.

Just as Huang Qiaqia, who was pulling his head up, glanced at her, Yue Jiaorui shoved him hard on the shoulder.

“Lift your head up. You’re not facing us, you’re facing that child’s father. He’s suing you. If he wins, you’ll be held legally responsible. Do you know that? You’ll go to jail. Say something!”

Liu Yuxing's eyes flashed with obvious anger, and with a strong push, she knocked Huang Qiaqia to the ground.

"Your family believes you, we believe you, but where is the judge? Where is the video? Where is the evidence? Since you're wearing your favorite down jacket, why aren't your hands properly in your pockets?"

Huang Qiaqia slumped onto the cold ground, the wind blowing from all directions with a biting chill, and tears of grievance welled up in her eyes.

"Don't cry. Think carefully again from beginning to end. What are the characteristics of the boy and girl who helped you later?"

Huang Qiaqia slowly raised her head. None of her three roommates who rushed over from the dormitory brought her any clothes. She was only wearing a sweater, and the cold wind blew in through the gaps in the sweater without hesitation. The little warmth left on Huang Qiaqia's body was about to fall apart.

"I don't remember. At the time, everyone was helping the pregnant woman, and I..."

"Even if you don't attend classes, don't eat, and don't sleep, you still have to think. You can't let any clue slip by."

Liu Yu's voice was as cold as ice, as chilling as a biting wind.

"That's not how it is. I didn't do anything wrong..."

"Shut up. Do you really want to be handcuffed? Now recall what happened. Write it down clearly, word for word. Don't stammer. Write it down now."

Cheng Yiyi's voice was colder than the biting wind outside the window. She flung her hand and threw the pen on the ground, slapping the paper onto Huang Qiaqia's face.

Huang Qiaqia lay on the ground, her eyes red-rimmed, her trembling left hand pressing down on her trembling right hand, gasping for breath, her chest heaving, feeling suffocated, oppressed, and in unbearable pain.

"Squeak."

The office door opened, and the child's father, glaring furiously at the pitiful Huang Qiaqia cowering on the floor, shouted angrily.

"Just wait for me."

Huang Qiaqia's roommates stood tall and protected her, while Liu Yuyu took out her phone and opened the camera.

"Why are you filming me?"

The child's father flew into a rage and raised his hand to slap Liu Yiyu's phone over.

"You hit someone, call the police."

Cheng Yiyi and Yue Jiaorui immediately took out their phones.

"You two are making false accusations. I didn't hit her."

The child's father, with veins bulging on his forehead, clenched his fist and aimed it at Liu Yiyu, who was still filming the video.

“We both saw you hit her. You can wait for the police to come and deal with you.”

Cheng Yiyi and Yue Jiaorui were about to dial the phone.

The teacher, with thinning hair, walked steadily out of the office, pressed Liu Yiyu's phone, and spoke slowly and respectfully to the child's father.

"Please do not jump to conclusions before you have a clear understanding of what happened."

The child's father stood tall, his angry aura seemingly capable of sweeping away all obstacles, and shouted in a booming voice.

“You students…”

"This is a school. Please don't speak loudly. You can leave now."

The teacher's hunched figure happened to block the view of several roommates, and his calm and unhurried attitude drove away the child's father.

“Teacher, Liu Yuyu is taking a selfie. If we call the police, when they come, we can give false testimony and threaten him to drop his lawsuit against Huang Qiaqia.”

Cheng Yiyi and Yue Jiaorui, their faces flushed red, clenched their fists and hurriedly tried to explain.

"The innocent will remain innocent, and the guilty will remain guilty. How are you any different from that man in doing this?"

Yue Jiaorui stamped her feet anxiously.

"But if that man really sues Huang Qiaqia, her life will be ruined."

The teacher glanced at Huang Qiaqia, who was huddled on the ground, shivering. Fine beads of sweat appeared on her forehead, and her trembling hands were still diligently writing down what had happened. She slowly squatted down.

“Kid, you did nothing wrong. We found some surveillance footage that is currently in your favor. Even if things turn against you, our school has strong law and medical departments with great professors. Would they not help their own students?”

"teacher."

Shivering from the cold, Huang Qiaqia felt a warm current flow into her heart. She tightly gripped her teacher's ankle. Her roommates looked at her with disgust. Poor Huang Qiaqia really wanted to give her a good beating.

The cold wind cut my face like a knife. On the way back to the dormitory, my roommates were in front of me, wrapped in thick coats, being embraced and hugged by their boyfriends.

Huang Qiaqia, head bowed, walked alone at the back, her whole body trembling violently, swaying slightly, making it difficult for her to walk straight.

The flag above the school fluttered violently, and Huang Qiaqia seemed to understand how painful bone spurs must be, how thousands of bone spurs could cause pain that penetrated deep into the bone marrow.

Cheng Yiyi's boyfriend asked Cheng Yiyi, who was holding him in his arms.

"Aren't you going to give her a coat?"

Cheng Yiyi walked forward without turning her head.

"Don't give it to her, let her learn her lesson."

Yue Jiaorui's boyfriend hugged her tightly, then turned his head, raised an eyebrow, and teased Huang Qiaqia, whose head was bowed.

"Hey chubby, didn't you go on a blind date? Ask your date to bring you some clothes."

Upon hearing Wanli Fuguang's name, Huang Qiaqia slightly raised her head, remembering that he should still be in the coffee shop. Her teeth seemed to be trembling as she stammered out a sentence.

"Is he still waiting for me?"

Liu Yuyi turned her head and glanced at Huang Qiaqia, whose hair seemed to be frozen.

"It's the middle of the night, how can we go? Let's call him."

After thinking for three seconds, Huang Qiaqia suddenly stopped, her nose feeling a little sore.

"What happened? When it rains, it pours. Your blind date doesn't want you anymore?"

Liu Yuyu's boyfriend's question made all three couples turn around to look at Huang Qiaqia.

Huang Qiaqia quickly sniffed a few times, looking helplessly at her roommates.

"I don't know his phone number."

"Then let's go find him."

Yue Jiaorui took off her light pink bathrobe-style coat, and her boyfriend quickly took off his coat as well.

Cheng Yiyi walked over and put her white earmuffs on Huang Qiaqia. Huang Qiaqia seemed to have some feeling in her ears.

"But you can't talk about this."

Liu Yu took off her grayish-white rabbit fur scarf and pushed away the frozen Huang Qiaqia.

"Go to the security room at the entrance first, and thank them for working overtime without pay to help you check the surveillance footage."

Looking at Huang Qiaqia's retreating figure, Cheng Yiyi's gaze was firm, and she said confidently.

"She's not the one who's wrong."

Cheng Yiyi's boyfriend looked completely certain.

"it is known."

Liu Yu asked her boyfriend.
