Ultraman Time Repairman

Chapter 28 The Lost Spark

The night was past midnight, and the slender hands of the clock on the classroom wall were stopped at five o'clock, with only the second hand ticking busily. The sky outside the window still retained the color of night, but it was now the eve of dawn.

The classroom, with tents and makeshift beds on the floor, was filled with the atmosphere and traces of life. At this moment, it was exceptionally quiet inside and outside the windows, with only the faint breathing of the sleeping auditorium light.

However, an uninvited guest arrived at the door; a man in a suit and tie crept into his room in the dark.

Since it was his first time doing this, the man seemed very nervous and unconsciously pushed up his glasses.

But thinking of being able to leave this eerie place, he took a deep breath, as if he had made up his mind, and finally stretched out his arm. The dark sparks in his clothes seemed to sense his thoughts, and the faint purplish-black light flickered greedily, as if a living heart was beating.

A slightly trembling hand fumbled around the room. The man nervously controlled his breathing, trying to keep it as even as possible, while his mind raced with thoughts of excuses in case he was discovered.

"call……"

Just then, Hikaru suddenly rolled over, startling him, because he had come to Hikaru's side, which was also the most likely place for the thing to appear.

Sure enough, his hand touched something hard and metallic inside his red coat.

Because the light was dim, he held the object close to his eyes to examine it carefully, and only felt relieved after confirming that it was the right thing.

"call."

Seeing that he had succeeded halfway, he breathed a sigh of relief, moved stealthily again, pushed open the classroom door and walked out, his pace quickening involuntarily.

…………

As time passed, the fingertips of the clock turned to the black number seven, and the sun slowly moved across the sky, brightening the sky; it was already morning.

As the agreed-upon transaction time approached, Shingo Kuwahara stared intently at his wristwatch, watching the second hand tick away, his heart rate seemingly affected as well.

I can't quite describe my feelings right now—I'm excited, nervous, maybe even a little guilty and scared...

But it doesn't matter, he'll be able to leave this awful place soon...

Thinking this, he walked to the top of the stairs, where the rooftop was right in front of him. He opened the door of the small rooftop house and stepped out from the shadows.

Suddenly, sunlight pierced his eyes, forcing him to squint and slowly adjust to the light. He looked around and, through his blurry vision, spotted a figure.

"You've worked hard, you managed to steal it successfully."

After hearing the familiar voice, they saw the alien from before.

He should be looking at me with a smile right now; judging from his tone, he must be laughing.

He couldn't read the other person's expression.

Shingo Kuwabara gripped the Galaxy Spark tightly in his hand, stretched out his arm, and offered the spark to him.

"I kept my promise. Alright, let me out of here!"

"Haha, no rush. First, give me this."

The Nackle alien spoke slowly and deliberately, his eyes never meeting the man's, his gaze fixed on the Galactic Spark tightly held in the man's hand. He shook his fan, and one hand was already outstretched.

Shingo Kuwahara had no intention of handing over his chips, and he held on tightly as the Nackle alien reached out his hand. However, the instant the Nackle alien's hand touched the Galaxy Spark, the spark released a powerful current of resistance, causing him to wince in pain and quickly release his grip.

The electric current startled Shingo Kuwahara. Although it didn't hurt him, it made him instinctively let go, and the spark fell to the ground.

"What? Why is that? Why can't I touch this!"

"Hey! I don't care, I've already given you the things, let me out now!"

"Cut the nonsense!"

The Nackle alien angrily pushed away Kuwahara Shingo, who was leaning in.

"I never intended to let you out in the first place! You ants, obediently become nourishment for the darkness."

"Let me out! Let me out!"

Behind the man's glasses, a pair of bloodshot eyes were filled with fear.

Seeing that he had broken down emotionally, Alien Nackle nodded in satisfaction, and then a monster doll appeared in his hand. His eyes began to flash red, staring straight into Shingo Kuwahara's eyes.

"You cunning human, turn into a monster!"

The red light from the Nackle alien's eyes was reflected in his pupils, and he immediately became dazed as if he had lost his mind, his own eyes emitting an eerie red light.

Then, stiffly, he took out his Dark Spark. At this moment, the spark seemed to be reborn, and the darkness in the man's heart was magnified and drawn to the spark.

The dark spark in his hand surged with energy, like a purplish-black flame burning fiercely, radiating a purplish-black light.

…………

What's that noise?

Sensing the earth shaking violently around him, Chishu sat up abruptly from his bed.

"Earthquake?"

I quickly got out of bed, then opened the window to check the situation outside.

Outside, dust billowed, and the figure of a huge monster gradually emerged from the dust.

Its abdomen and back were covered in hard, smooth black armor, and its head had a single bony horn. At this moment, it was pounding its chest with its short but thick arms, producing a dull and loud sound that demonstrated its power.

"Is Steel Nine still unable to start? It seems the damage it suffered was more severe than I anticipated..."

On the other side of the school, Ichijouji, who was also watching this scene, frowned as he looked at the monster rushing towards them, while in his hand he held a control device that displayed a signal indicating that it could not be activated.

"Where did this monster come from?"

Chiki looked out the window with concern. Taro also appeared at the window, gazing at the monster not far away.

Oh no! It's so close to the school now.

"It's the shapeshifting monster Zaragas. It seems the Dark Ruler has begun its operation. Where's Hikari?"

At that moment, Auditorium Light rushed out of the teaching building.

Chiki saw Hikari downstairs from the window and shouted, "Hikari, stop it! It'll be terrible if it runs rampant in the school!"

Hikaru nodded upon hearing this, then hurriedly searched for Galaxy Spark in his coat.

Qian Shu stared intently at him, only to see him suddenly stop searching after a while, his face turning panicked, and she couldn't help but urge him again.

"Hikaru, what are you doing? The monster is coming soon!"

"I... am gone, the Galaxy Spark is gone!"

"What? Of all times!"

"You guys run! Leave this to me!"

Seeing this, Taro had no choice but to let the two retreat to a safe place first, while he used his Ultra Telekinesis to disappear in an instant.

"Taro!"

Zaragas walked straight toward the school buildings, its tens of thousands of tons of weight causing each step to vibrate loudly. Suddenly, a flash of light appeared in the air in front of it, attracting its attention and causing it to stop in its tracks.

"Ultra Telekinesis!"

The Taro doll suddenly appeared from the light, accompanied by a powerful surge of psychic energy.

"Roar!"

Zalasga's body felt as if it had entered a deep sea under extremely high pressure. Then it felt a powerful force pressing down on its limbs, making its movements extremely difficult and almost impossible to move.

"No, Taro won't be able to hold on much longer if this continues..."
