The wealthy military officer spoils his wife excessively

Chapter 156: Betting on Taking Off Clothes

"This is fine." Looking at the dazzling array of food and fruit platters, Suwen couldn't wait any longer.

The waiter slowly and methodically unloaded the food from the car and arranged it neatly on the long table in the living room. The rich aroma of the food made her mouth water.

While the waiter was setting the table, Hao Haiyun came out of the bathroom. His hair was still wet and his messy bangs were falling unruly across his forehead. A snow-white bath towel was wrapped around his lower body, revealing his strong and muscular upper body.

Suwen's gaze faltered, and she quickly looked away. Although it wasn't the first time she'd seen him like this, she felt as if the air itself was thick with the heat he'd brought from the bathroom. She could even vividly recall the marks on his shoulders, back, and abdomen, remembering their exact locations. She had changed his dressings countless times, and seen those marks just as many times as she had.

The waiter finally set out the food and cutlery, and respectfully greeted Hao Haiyun, "Brother Yun."

Hao Haiyun pulled out a wallet from his clothes, casually took out a few bills and put them in his food cart, then waved his hand: "Go ahead."

"Thank you, Brother Yun."

Despite the waiter's flat tone, Suwen felt as if his words were tinged with an ambiguous atmosphere, making her feel somewhat suffocated.

Just as Hao Haiyun was about to sit down opposite her, she suddenly said, "Put on your clothes before you eat."

"Ok?"

"Don't get cold," she said, though she didn't mean it. Actually, the indoor heating was on full blast, and she didn't feel cold at all while running around barefoot.

"Heh, you're concerned about me?" Hao Haiyun habitually raised one eyebrow.

Suwen neither admitted nor denied it, but Hao Haiyun got up in a good mood, went back to her room to put on her clothes, and then came out again.

At this point, Suwen had long forgotten about etiquette. She picked up a spoon and began to drink heartily from the chicken and mushroom soup on the plate. It was delicious, juicy, and fragrant. She then pulled over the shark fin rice in front of her, stuffed a large mouthful into her mouth, and chewed it.

Hao Haiyun, who had just sat down, couldn't help but laugh out loud: "You look like you haven't eaten for days."

"It's only a few days, but it's almost a day anyway," Suwen muttered as she ate.

Hao Haiyun smiled without saying a word, poured himself a glass of red wine, swirled it a few times in his hand, and gave a playful look to his eyes.

Suwen knew that he and she were starkly different at this moment. One was eating without any regard for appearances, while the other was elegantly sipping red wine. She rolled her eyes and thought resentfully: If you're so capable, let me starve you for three to five days and give you red wine and rice. Let's see what you choose!

After a while, Suwen was a little full, and if he kept staring at her like that, she wouldn't be able to eat anymore. So she put down her spoon, looked up at him and asked, "Why aren't you eating? Why are you just watching me eat?"

"You're eating so heartily, just watching you eat makes me full." His words were full of teasing, but because of the warm smile in his eyes, it wasn't so offensive; instead, it made one feel a little shy and restless.

Suwen felt that she didn't know how to face the normal Hao Haiyun. He had never been kind to her; he was either threatening to beat or kill her, or forcing her to do things she didn't want to do. No, perhaps that cold Hao Haiyun was the normal him. He had clearly been about to skin her alive that night, but then he changed so quickly, catching her off guard.

She lowered her head, trying to distract herself from her strange thoughts with food, but there was always a gaze on her from above, making her scalp tingle and her appetite vanish.

Seeing that she had stopped eating, Hao Haiyun put down his wine glass and asked, "Are you full?"

"Mmm." She nodded. Her thoughts began to race; should she ask him when he planned to let her go back?

His gaze, however, fell on her bare feet: "There are slippers in the bathroom. Wear these for now, and I'll take you to buy shoes when it's light."

It seems they're not planning to let her leave tonight.

Suwen slowly got up and walked towards the bathroom. It seemed he was going to take her somewhere else later, otherwise he wouldn't have made her find slippers to wear.

When she came out, Hao Haiyun's gaze fell on her. Her white, large, boat-like slippers and her clothes, which had become wrinkled after being soaked in the rain and dried naturally, made his brows furrow again.

He tossed the leather jacket hanging from his arm over to me: "Put it on."

Suwen glanced at him silently. He was only wearing a thin, round-neck wool sweater over his shirt, yet he still looked neat and noble. She had no choice but to obediently drape his oversized, cloak-like coat over herself. Hao Haiyun lightly brushed her aside and said, "Let's go."

Hao Haiyun strode ahead, with Su Wen following closely behind. She wore her hotel slippers, the clattering sound drawing attention wherever she went. "Hao Haiyun..."

"Hao Haiyun!"

The man in front of her suddenly stopped, turned around coldly, and Su Wen almost bumped into his back because she couldn't stop in time.

"Hao Haiyun." She abruptly stopped leaning forward and called out, "Since you don't intend to take my life, when can I go back?"

"When I'm happy," he said dismissively, not intending to pay any attention to her at all.

"..."

Suwen opened her mouth, but swallowed back all her resentment. She really hated herself for not having a gun so she could have shot him again!

The elevator took her directly to the underground casino. When the elevator doors opened, Suwen was greeted by the true splendor of a casino. The men were dressed in suits, wearing expensive watches and smoking cigars. The women were elegantly dressed, their jewelry reflecting a dazzling light. Waitstaff in suits and vests moved between the gambling tables. The bright lights and vibrant atmosphere dazzled her.

Suwen suddenly realized that her outfit was indeed quite "eye-catching".

Before Hao Haiyun could even leave the stage, Boss Zhou greeted him with a smile. When he caught a glimpse of Hao Haiyun's jacket on Su Wen, a strange look flashed across his eyes. Then he smiled and said, "Brother Yun, why don't you play a couple of rounds? Boss Chen and Boss Fang heard you were here and specially reserved a private room, just waiting for you."

Hao Haiyun remained noncommittal: "Since you're here, go over and say hello."

Boss Zhou led the way, and unexpectedly, besides the rabble outside, there was a hidden world inside. As soon as they entered the private room, they saw two bloated men stand up, their booming voices making Su Wen's ears ring: "Hey, Brother Yun, long time no see, long time no see."

"Boss Chen, Boss Fang." Hao Haiyun remained calm and composed, exuding an air of ease.

Each private room had a head manager. As soon as the manager saw Boss Zhou personally leading the group in, he immediately lowered his head almost to his chest. After the group was seated, he eagerly ordered wine and fruit to be served.

Boss Zhou tapped the manager on the shoulder: "Go, find a few beautiful girls, the best of the best, don't bring any inferior ones to fill the quota."

The manager then went to ask the bosses about their preferences. Everyone who worked there was good at reading people's expressions, and the team leader was even more adept at recognizing that only Hao Haiyun's word was law. So, he ingratiatingly asked first, "What kind of person does Brother Yun like?"

Hao Haiyun turned his head and glanced at Nie Suwen. These words made Suwen feel awkward, so she turned her head away as well, pretending it was none of her business. "You can do whatever you want, just ignore me."

Before he could even ask a question, Boss Zhou slapped him on the forehead again: "You have no sense of propriety, didn't you see that Brother Yun brought his girlfriend?"

The manager snapped out of his daze and immediately slapped himself repeatedly, apologizing, "Look at my blind eyes, I didn't even see you, sister-in-law. Please don't be offended, please don't be offended."

These calls of "sister-in-law" made Suwen even more uncomfortable.

Hao Haiyun pushed the manager away: "Alright, alright, whatever, just find a few people with good taste."

Upon hearing this, the manager was stunned again. Should he look for Brother Yun or not? Boss Zhou, standing nearby, was already urging him, "Didn't you hear what Brother Yun said? Hurry up and go!"

"Yes, yes..." the manager hurriedly replied and left.

Suwen knew perfectly well that Hao Haiyun was subtly criticizing her for being unromantic.

After a while, the princess brought in cigars, knelt down to cut them for them, lit them, and offered them to the men. When she got to Suwen, she hesitated, as if unsure whether to offer him a cigar or not.

Hao Haiyun exchanged pleasantries with several business owners, seemingly not paying much attention to her, and casually said, "Want to try one?"

Suwen quickly stepped back; she didn't even smoke, let alone a cigar.

The princess knelt there, unsure of what to do. Just then, the manager knocked on the door, and a group of beautiful women rushed in. Although they were all beautiful and charming, they were not without manners. They stood in a line and timidly greeted, "Hello, Brother Yun! Hello, bosses!"

Their voices were crisp and clear, and at first glance they looked fresh and innocent, like virgins. Hao Haiyun was a pervert; he might actually take a bunch of virgins to deflower.

Hao Haiyun, with a cigar dangling from his lips, his face shrouded in the haze of the cigar smoke, appeared ambiguous. He stared intently at the row of beauties, then glanced at Nie Suwen in the corner of the sofa, and casually pointed at one: "You, come and serve me."

The girl happily exclaimed "Ah!" and sat down with a beaming smile. Hao Haiyun opened his arms, and the girl nestled obediently in his arms, saying sweetly, "Brother Yun, my name is Nana."

Hao Haiyun exhaled a puff of cigar smoke and chuckled, "Nobody asked you your name."

The beautiful woman, having suffered a loss, quickly put on a smile again and asked in a sweet, coquettish voice, "Brother Yun, how would you like to play today? All in or dice? Or should I request a few songs for you first?"

Suwen was taken aback; she had never seen Hao Haiyun sing before. It was truly hard to imagine what kind of off-key singing Hao Haiyun, such a grown man, would produce.

Fortunately, Hao Haiyun wasn't in a bad mood and casually said, "Let's play mahjong. I've heard that Boss Chen is a great player of Taiwanese mahjong. It's rare to meet him here today, so I should lose some money to him."
