He spat out each word through gritted teeth, and Su Wen met his gaze, observing his expression. Suddenly, the anger in her heart transformed into a deep sorrow. What is a tragic fate? Her relationship with Hao Haiyun was probably a tragic fate.

This man wasn't actually a cold-blooded man without feelings. He only ever loved one woman in his life, but that woman chose his best friend. So he transferred all his resentment onto another woman who shared the same name as that woman. Unfortunately, that person was himself.

Nie Suwen didn't know why she was called "Susu". Her parents certainly didn't expect what would happen today when they gave her this nickname. She never thought that provoking Hao Haiyun would cause her a lifetime of trouble.

"Killing someone is just a matter of a head falling to the ground. Just tell me what you want." She closed her eyes with a hint of disgust.

Her sudden outburst of self-abandonment startled him: "...Do you want to die?"

"Only a ghost would want to die." She gave him a cold glare. Who would want to die when they're perfectly healthy? Only a psychopath like him would enjoy cutting off people's limbs all day long.

“Living is sometimes more terrifying than dying,” he suddenly said out of the blue, his tone full of cold sarcasm.

The *Suwen* remained noncommittal.

"Your child was aborted?"

Hearing his question, Suwen was taken aback. She had found it unbelievable when she met him late at night at a convenience store, and sure enough, he had been watching her all along.

Seeing that she remained silent, his already cold eyes grew even colder, his pupils reflecting the frost-like moonlight: "Good riddance, this is retribution."

A burst of anger suddenly ignited.

"Yes, I deserve my retribution. And what about you, Hao Haiyun? How many souls have died at your hands? If Heaven truly has retribution, it should have taken you long ago, making you a pig or a dog in your next life—no, you'll never be reincarnated!"

She angrily cursed, for that child was the most untouchable wound in her heart. Although it seemed to have healed, beneath the peaceful exterior lay only a festering sore.

"Finally, you've spoken your mind?" Hao Haiyun reached out and pulled her into his arms, his tone intimate, but his gaze was sharp as a knife, sweeping across her face with a sarcastic look: "Since you wanted me dead so badly, why didn't you just shoot me here? Wouldn't that have been cleaner and easier?"

He tapped his forehead and burst into laughter.

Suwen pressed her hands firmly against his chest, preventing him from getting close, and said, "Yes, I regret it. I only blame myself for not being skilled enough. My hand trembled and I hit the wrong place. Otherwise, how would you be here deciding my life or death? I even learned the story of the farmer and the snake. Alas, being soft-hearted towards someone as venomous as a snake is being cruel to yourself."

Hao Haiyun listened to her sarcastic remarks without getting angry. In truth, he didn't know what he was trying to achieve by going to such lengths to force her back. Her sudden mention of "death" startled him. He was single-mindedly focused on bringing her back, but how to deal with her afterward was still a mystery. Seeing her baring her teeth and claws at him, he felt an urge to strangle her, yet also felt that killing her would be too easy; he wanted to tear her to pieces. Hao Haiyun had been in the underworld for over a decade and had never been played by a woman before, let alone twice. How could he let such a woman roam freely outside?

He then grabbed her neck with hatred, and Suwen's voice suddenly caught in her throat. His fingers were so tight that she could hardly breathe. She struggled desperately, but the more she struggled, the tighter Hao Haiyun gripped her. His hands were like iron clamps, holding her firmly. She scratched and kicked wildly, but Hao Haiyun remained unmoved. Suwen was choked and had difficulty breathing. Her eyes rolled back, her ears were ringing, and her small mouth was slightly open, trying to breathe in a little air with difficulty and quickly. Hao Haiyun suddenly pressed down and fiercely blocked her mouth, forcibly prying open her lips and passing oxygen through his mouth.

The hand that had been holding his throat finally loosened. Out of the instinct to survive, Suwen gasped for air from his mouth. His pale face, already suffocated by lack of oxygen, flushed red instantly, and broken, intermittent whimpers escaped from his tightly sealed mouth.

He felt a sudden sting on his lips, his brow furrowed, and he abruptly pulled away, the metallic taste of blood already seeping into his teeth.

Suwen seemed to have finally been rescued, slumped in her chair, panting heavily, occasionally letting out a sob or two, accompanied by violent coughing.

Hao Haiyun didn't wipe the bloodstains from the corner of her mouth. She stared blankly at her, her right hand still in the position where she had pinched her, frozen in mid-air.

Suwen suddenly raised her head from her prone position, her gaze sharp and fierce as she glared at him. If there were a knife right now, he wouldn't be surprised if she stabbed him.

"You...cough..." She tried to say something, but choked violently as soon as she opened her mouth, her voice becoming hoarse and barely audible. She coughed for a while before finally managing to say, "Why did you let go again? Wouldn't it have been better to just strangle me? I've always wondered, what good does it do you to hold that driver captive? You want my life? My life is just stored with you. You can take it away whenever you feel like it. Why go through all this trouble?"

Su Wen's face turned pale, but she forced herself to sit up, looking at Hao Haiyun with a half-smile. Hao Haiyun sneered, "You think I wouldn't dare strangle you?"

"What wouldn't Brother Yun dare to do? Killing me would just dirty your hands. Why not find a sniper to take me out without anyone noticing, and it won't implicate you at all? You've never been one to beat around the bush, and this time you've gone to such lengths to deal with the people around me. Does that make me think you're actually... jealous?"

"Jealous...I'm jealous of him?" Hao Haiyun burst into laughter as if she had heard a joke. "Nie Suwen, you really dare to say that. Aren't you afraid I'll skin your little boyfriend alive?"

"If you're not jealous, why are you targeting him? What grudge does he have against you? Aren't you just trying to force me to beg you? Now that I'm here, release him."

A tense, confrontational atmosphere filled the air. Nie Suwen was determined to fight to the death, so she was fearless and met his head head-on. She knew she was digging her own grave, and that her words might even drive them both to the brink of despair.

But at that moment, she truly lost control. Regardless of how their feud was resolved, she hated him for dragging Lu Zheng into it. She even forgot how humble and powerless she felt in his presence.

"Good, good, very good." Hao Haiyun laughed angrily, saying "good" three times in a row. He was burning with anger. Suddenly, he opened the car door and pulled Su Wen out of the car.

The man roughly dragged her out of the carriage, almost sideways. Suwen struggled against his restraints while bracing herself against the carriage to maintain her balance. "Let me go!"

As if he hadn't heard her, he grabbed her and strode forward. The man's strength was frightening. Suwen's shoes, which were hanging on the car door, were kicked off. Barefoot, she was dragged forward step by step. The cold, wet, and hard ground touched her feet, and a chill ran down her spine.

Su Wen, her feet covered in dirt and wetness, shouted with all her might behind him, "Hao Haiyun, what are you doing!"

Her voice, sharp and trembling, echoed across the deserted mountain road.

"Now you know fear?" He sneered, turning back to look at her contemptuously, and pulled her along as they continued walking forward.

After walking for a while, the seemingly endless winding road suddenly opened up, revealing a manor-like building standing prominently in front of an ornate iron gate, its bright lights illuminating even the darkest night. Su Wen vaguely remembered that this was the golden, plate-like building she had seen from the mountain road on the way here. She had heard that a palatial six-star luxury hotel was being built on this resort mountain, and she never expected it to be right in front of her now.

The doorman, wearing white gloves, came forward to open the door for them, his voice loud and pleasant: "Brother Yun! You've arrived."

Su Wen looked around and felt that the buildings were magnificent and beautiful, truly like medieval European palaces. The buildings were scattered among the green trees on the hillside, but there were no signs or signs. When he entered the lobby, a row of beautiful women bowed in unison, and their sweet voices said in unison: "Brother Yun, good evening!"

The head manager led the bow: "Brother Yun, welcome back to Xijing Casino."

Xijing Casino?

Su Wen was startled and looked around again at the magnificent decorations. What did Hao Haiyun bring her here for? To watch him gamble?

The manager smiled apologetically as he pressed the button for the elevator that led to the top, saying, "Brother Yun, it's been quite a while since you've been here. Apparently, we didn't treat you well last time and neglected you."

Hao Haiyun, whose face had been tense, finally smiled and said, "It's nothing, I've been busy lately."

The manager immediately lowered his head and smiled obsequiously, completely ignoring Su Wen.

As soon as the elevator doors opened, a dazzling light immediately pierced the eye. Six enormous crystal chandeliers in the lobby, exquisite and translucent, cast layers of light and shadow, illuminating the people who came and went, making everyone's face look radiant.

A portly middle-aged man walked towards them, holding a half-smoked cigar in his hand. He grinned from ear to ear when he saw Hao Haiyun.

"Brother Yun, you are a rare guest."

"Boss Zhou." Hao Haiyun also smiled and greeted him.

Suwen guessed that this Mr. Zhou must be the owner of this casino.

"Oh dear, without Brother Yun, my casino is practically deserted. Tonight is a rare occasion for us to have some fun, so I'll be the banker and give Brother Yun 800,000 in betting capital to warm him up. Brother Yun, you'd better enjoy yourself!" Boss Zhou's voice was loud and his words were full of generosity.

Hao Haiyun laughed: "You give me 800,000 in gambling capital, and then I lose another 1.8 million to your casino. Isn't that what I'll pay for? Everyone knows you, Boss Zhou, are cunning and shrewd!"

After saying that, the two of them burst into laughter, as if it were just a joke. Boss Zhou smiled, his gaze sweeping over Nie Suwen behind him, his eyes showing surprise: "Brother Yun, is this the first time you've brought a woman here to have fun?"
