Another Dimensional Immortal Cultivation Tale: The Divine Doctor Against the Heavens
Chapter 41 Yunhai's Contributions, Highly Praised
Yunhai's status within the family is already off the charts because of her incredible achievements. With her unique medical skills and fearless spirit, she has become the pride and legend of the Yun family.
That day, the Yun mansion was as lively as during the Lunar New Year, brightly lit. Red lanterns hung high, swaying in the wind, as if flaunting the Yun family's honor and joy. Outside the gate, carriages and horses streamed in, with guests arriving one after another to offer their congratulations. Some rode in luxurious carriages, others on tall horses, all dressed in fine clothes and exuding extraordinary elegance.
Prime Minister Yun, his face radiant with health, wore a long purple robe and an official hat, exuding both dignity and joy. Standing in the center of the hall, he beamed as he accepted everyone's blessings. With each guest approaching, he bowed respectfully, his words brimming with pride.
"Congratulations, Prime Minister Yun! Your daughter, Yunhai, is truly a heroine, bringing such great honor to the Yun family," said an official in a blue brocade robe.
Prime Minister Yun laughed heartily and said, "Not at all, the young girl is just doing what she should be doing."
In the hall, Yunhai wore a light blue long dress with flowers embroidered on the hem, looking like a fairy descending to earth. Her hair cascaded down her shoulders like a waterfall, adorned with an elegant hairpin, making her appear even more refined and ethereal. She smiled and returned the greetings to each guest, her graceful and poised demeanor like a gentle spring breeze.
Surrounding her was a group of young men and women, filled with curiosity and admiration for Yunhai, who kept asking her about her story.
"Sister Yunhai, you're amazing! Your medical skills are incredible! Could you teach us?" a young woman said with admiration. She was wearing a pink dress, and her eyes sparkled like two glittering gems.
Yunhai smiled slightly, like a spring breeze, and said, "Studying medicine requires constant learning and practice. As long as you have patience and perseverance, you will definitely achieve something."
Another young man continued, "Miss Yunhai, I heard you encountered many dangers during your mission. How did you stay calm?"
Yunhai raised his chin, his eyes sparkling, and said, "When faced with danger, if you lose your composure first, you're doomed. Only by calming down and thinking of solutions can you find a way out. Just like fighting a war, you need strategy and courage. As Sun Tzu's Art of War says, 'He who knows he will win before the battle begins prepares extensively; he who knows he will lose before the battle begins prepares little. Extensive preparation leads to victory, while insufficient preparation leads to defeat, let alone no preparation at all!' When we encounter difficulties, we must plan ahead like a general."
Everyone nodded in agreement, expressing their admiration for Yunhai's idea.
Just then, a loud scream rang out. Everyone turned to look and saw a guest, pale-faced, clutching his arm in pain, blood dripping from between his fingers. It turned out that the guest had accidentally cut his arm on a nearby decoration while walking.
Yunhai rushed over immediately and said calmly, "Don't panic, everyone." She carefully examined the guest's wound and frowned. The wound was quite deep, and blood was still flowing.
Yunhai turned to the maid beside him and said, "Quickly go and get my medicine box." The maid hurriedly agreed and ran out, returning shortly with a finely crafted medicine box.
Yunhai opened the first-aid kit and took out some antiseptic herbs and clean gauze. She first gently wiped the area around the wound with the herbs to disinfect and stop the bleeding. The guest winced in pain, but seeing Yunhai's focused expression, he held back from crying out.
"Brother, just bear with it, it'll be over soon," Yunhai said gently. Her voice was like a clear spring, instantly easing the tension in his heart.
Immediately afterward, Yunhai quickly bandaged the wound with gauze, her movements swift and efficient. After finishing, she took a bottle of pills from the box and handed it to the guest.
“These are specially formulated healing pills. Young Master, take one every day, and your wound will heal in just a few days,” Yunhai said.
The guest accepted the pills with tears of gratitude, repeatedly expressing his thanks: "Thank you so much, Miss Yunhai, your medical skills are truly amazing."
Everyone was full of praise for Yunhai for healing his wound so quickly.
An elderly guest approached Yunhai and said, "Miss Yun, your contributions are truly admirable. You have not only saved many lives but also brought great honor to the Yun family. I believe that with you at the helm, the Yun family will surely prosper even more." This guest wore a gray robe, had gray hair, and his eyes shone with wisdom.
Yunhai said modestly, "You flatter me. I just did what I was supposed to do. The prosperity of the Yun family requires the joint efforts of all of us."
Everyone was having a good time when an uninvited guest suddenly arrived. This person had a cold face and mysterious eyes. He wore a black robe with a black belt around his waist, from which hung a sword. He walked steadily, each step seemingly carrying a heavy weight.
He walked directly up to Yunhai, bowed slightly, and said, "Miss Yunhai, I've long admired your name. Meeting you today, I can say it truly lives up to your reputation." His voice was deep and charming, making it irresistible to listen to.
Yunhai paused for a moment, becoming wary, and asked, "Who are you?"
The man smiled slightly, revealing a set of white teeth, and said, "My name is Ye Ying, and I am a wanderer of the martial world. I heard that Miss Yunhai has superb medical skills, so I came here specifically to seek her advice."
Yunhai was puzzled, wondering what this person wanted. He said, "I wouldn't presume to ask for your guidance. May I ask what business Young Master Yeying has with me?"
Nightshade said, "I have a friend who is very ill and has been looking for doctors everywhere without success. I've heard that Miss Yunhai has amazing medical skills, so I'd like to ask you for help."
Yunhai hesitated for a moment, but seeing Yeying's sincere eyes, he felt too embarrassed to refuse and said, "Alright then, I'll go with you to take a look."
After saying this, Yunhai followed Yeying away. Everyone watched their retreating figures, a little worried. Prime Minister Yun especially urged Yunhai to be careful and pay attention to his safety.
Yunhai and Yeying walked down the street. It was crowded and lively. But Yunhai felt uneasy. She didn't know what illness Yeying's friend had, nor what awaited her.
Nightshade led Cloud Sea to a secluded courtyard. The courtyard reeked of medicine, making one want to sneeze. A pale-faced man lay on the bed, groaning in pain. His face was as white as paper, his lips were bloodless, and his eyes were filled with despair.
Yunhai walked over and carefully examined the man. Her brows furrowed, and she was secretly shocked. This man's illness was too serious; his body was in disarray, and his meridians were damaged, as if he had been injured by a powerful force.
She turned to Nightshade and said, "This man's illness is very serious and requires some special medicine to cure him."
Nightshade said, "I'll find any medicinal herbs I can to cure my brother's illness." His eyes were full of determination, and you could feel how much he cared about his friend.
Yunhai nodded and said, "Okay. I'll write down a prescription first, and you can find the herbs according to the prescription."
Yunhai picked up a pen and paper, thought for a few seconds, and then wrote down a prescription. Her handwriting was beautiful; each character seemed to possess a magical quality.
Nightshade took the prescription, glanced at it, and muttered to himself. The herbs on this prescription were truly rare; some he had never even heard of.
Night Shadow hesitated for a moment, then said, "Miss Yunhai, these medicinal herbs are hard to find. Could you try another method?"
Yunhai smiled slightly and said, "I do have a way, but it depends on whether you are willing to help."
Nightshade said, "I'm willing to do anything to cure my friend's illness."
Yunhai said, "I need you to take me to a place where there might be the medicinal herbs we need."
Nightshade asked, "Where?"
Yunhai said, "It's a mysterious valley. I've heard that all sorts of rare medicinal herbs grow there, but it's also quite dangerous."
Nightshade hesitated for a moment, then said, "Okay. I'll take you there."
And so, Yunhai and Yeying began their journey to find medicinal herbs. They traversed a dense forest, where the trees were tall and thick, their leaves so dense that sunlight filtered through them, creating dappled patterns. Birds sang merrily in the branches, as if bidding them farewell. The ground beneath their feet was soft, and they could sometimes see small animals scurrying about in the grass.
They climbed over mountain after mountain, the peaks steep and shrouded in mist. They walked slowly along the narrow mountain path, carefully taking each step. The wind whistled in their ears, as if telling them of the power of nature.
Finally, we arrived at the mysterious valley. A thin layer of mist hung in the valley, obscuring the path ahead. A mysterious scent wafted from the mist from time to time, making us feel intrigued.
Yunhai and Yeying walked cautiously forward, their hearts pounding with anxiety. Their footsteps echoed in the quiet valley, as if telling everyone how nervous they were.
Suddenly, a gigantic monster leaped out of the fog. This monster was terrifying in appearance, emanating a strong odor. It was as large as a mountain, with jet-black skin covered in hard scales. Its eyes shone brightly, like two large light bulbs, flashing red. Its mouth was open, revealing sharp teeth that seemed capable of crushing anything.
Startled, Yunhai and Yeying quickly grabbed their weapons, preparing to fight. The monster roared and pounced on them, its sharp claws whistling as it swung. Its claws were as hard as iron, and each swing brought a gust of wind.
Yunhai calmly observed the monster's movements, searching for its weakness. Her gaze was focused and resolute, making her look like a great general commanding a vast army. She discovered that the monster's eyes were its weakest point, so she said to Yeying, "Young Master Yeying, let's attack the monster's eyes together."
Nightshade nodded and said, "Okay."
Working together, they launched an attack on the monster's eyes. They moved with lightning speed, their weapons gleaming coldly. Nightshade's sword, like a silver lightning bolt, hurtled straight for the monster's eyes. Cloud Sea, meanwhile, produced some poison, intending to throw it at the monster while it was still inside.
The monster howled in pain and pounced on them even more frantically, but it had lost its previous ferocity. Its movements became somewhat chaotic, giving Yunhai and Yeying more opportunities.
Taking advantage of the moment, Yunhai took out some poison and sprinkled it on the monster. The poison dispersed in the air, turning into a cloud of smoke. After inhaling the poison, the monster began to sway and finally collapsed to the ground.
Yunhai and Yeying breathed a long sigh of relief, then strode forward. They found a pile of valuable herbs in the ravine, finally completing the prescription for treating the young man's injuries.
Back home, Yunhai immediately started brewing herbal medicine for the young man. Her technique was so reassuring, it was as if she were handling something important. The medicine in the pot bubbled and simmered, emitting a particularly strong aroma.
After the young man took the medicine, his condition gradually improved. His face became rosy, and his eyes regained their sparkle.
Ye Ying was extremely grateful to Yun Hai and said, "Miss Yun Hai, you have truly saved my life. I, Ye Ying, will remember this for the rest of my life. If you ever need my help in the future, just let me know."
Yunhai smiled and said, "Young Master Yeying, you're too kind. Saving people is my duty."
During their time together, Yunhai's feelings for Yeying grew increasingly different. She admired Yeying's courage, perseverance, and loyalty to her friends. Yeying, in turn, was captivated by Yunhai's kindness, intelligence, and bravery. Whenever their eyes met, Yunhai's heart would race.
However, Yunhai was also conflicted. She didn't know whether she should continue this relationship, after all, she still needed to find the man with the jade pendant bearing the character "Hai" (sea). Besides, her path of cultivation was full of unknowns and challenges.
After this incident, Yunhai's fame grew even greater. Her medical skills and courage gained wider recognition and praise. Throughout this process, she continued to learn and improve, laying a solid foundation for her future.
