Another Dimensional Immortal Cultivation Tale: The Divine Doctor Against the Heavens

Chapter 4 The Secret of the Jade Pendant, The Pact of Fate

Sunlight filtered through the leaves, casting golden threads across the Prime Minister's garden, creating shimmering patches of light. Yunhai, held in the arms of her maids, basked contentedly in the warm sunshine. Her rosy cheeks looked especially adorable in the sunlight, and her large, bright eyes blinked as she curiously observed the colorful flowers around her.

A gentle breeze stirs, and the flowers sway gracefully like a group of elegant dancers, releasing their fragrance. The fragrance, like invisible ribbons, drifts in the air, intoxicating the senses. Butterflies flutter among the flowers, their wings shimmering with vibrant colors, as if nature itself had painted a masterpiece with the most delicate strokes. They dance lightly, sometimes landing on delicate petals, sometimes frolicking and chasing each other in the air, adding a touch of lively color to this beautiful scene.

However, her mind was not on the beautiful garden scenery at this moment, but on the mysterious jade pendant that she had held in her mouth since birth.

"Oh dear, what's the story behind this jade pendant? Why did I come into this world with it in my mouth?" Yunhai muttered to herself. A gentle breeze rustled the leaves, as if in response to her questions. The maids chatted softly, occasionally letting out a burst of silvery laughter, adding a touch of liveliness to the tranquil garden.

Just then, the prime minister's old steward strolled over slowly. He wore a dark blue robe, his hair was somewhat gray, and his face was etched with the marks of time, but his eyes remained bright and piercing. His steps were steady and slow, each one seemingly carrying the weight of years. As he approached, the soles of his shoes made a soft rustling sound as they rubbed against the stone pavement.

The old butler looked at Yunhai with a kind smile that seemed to melt hearts. He bent down slightly, reached out his wrinkled hand, and gently patted Yunhai's little head.

"Miss, do you know the origin of that jade pendant you mentioned?" The old butler's voice, tinged with mystery, slowly reached Yunhai's ears. His voice was deep and hoarse, like the tolling of an ancient bell, echoing in the tranquil garden. The surrounding birds seemed to be attracted by the sound, chirping and twittering as if urging the old butler to reveal the answer quickly.

Upon hearing this, Yunhai's eyes lit up instantly, like two dazzling stars. Although she couldn't speak yet, her little eyes were full of curiosity and anticipation, as if urging the old butler to reveal the answer quickly. She twisted her little body slightly, waving her little hands in the air and making "ee-ee-ya-ya" sounds.

The old butler couldn't help but laugh at Yunhai's adorable appearance. He coughed lightly to clear his throat, then slowly straightened up, gazing into the distance as if lost in distant memories.

"This jade pendant has a magical legend behind it. It is said that long, long ago, there lived a divine couple, possessing immense power and boundless wisdom. The man held a jade pendant engraved with the character 'sea,' representing his deep, ocean-like love for the woman. The woman also possessed a similar pendant, symbolizing her unwavering loyalty to the man. They walked hand in hand through countless years, protecting the world together. However, a great catastrophe later forced them apart, leaving the jade pendants to their descendants, hoping that one day, two people possessing the same pendant would meet, continue their love, and once again protect the world." The old butler's voice drifted through the garden, as if telling an ancient and mysterious story. A gentle breeze blew, and petals drifted down, adding a touch of romance to the legend.

Yunhai was astonished upon hearing this. "What? Such a thing? Finding a jade pendant man can lead to a wonderful marriage? That's too amazing!" she thought to herself, filled with both curiosity and anticipation. Her small eyes widened as she stared at the old butler, as if trying to discern more secrets from his face.

Seeing the curious look in Yunhai's eyes, the old butler shook his head slightly and said with a smile, "Miss, though the legend may be untrue, this jade pendant must have special significance. You must keep it safe; perhaps one day, a man with the same jade pendant will appear." With that, the old butler patted Yunhai's head again, then slowly turned and left. The sound of his shoes scraping against the stone path echoed again, gradually fading into the depths of the garden path.

From then on, Yunhai harbored a little secret. She would occasionally recall the legend, imagining what the man with the jade pendant bearing the character "Hai" (sea) would look like. Sometimes, she would see a blurry figure in her dreams, a tall and handsome man holding a jade pendant with the shimmering character "Hai" on it. The surrounding environment was dreamlike, as if she were in a fairyland.

Days passed, and Yunhai grew up slowly. She began to walk and talk, gaining a deeper understanding of the world around her. She carefully kept the jade pendant, taking it out to look at it from time to time. Every time she saw the character "Hai" (sea) on the pendant, a strange warmth would well up in her heart.

One day, Yunhai was playing in her room. She was wearing a pink dress and had two cute little braids in her hair, looking like a little princess. The room was filled with all sorts of toys: dolls, a rocking horse, colorful beads, and so on. Yunhai would pick up a doll and comb its hair; then she would ride the rocking horse, swaying back and forth; then she would scatter colorful beads on the floor and pick them up one by one. She was having a wonderful time, giggling all the while. The sunlight streaming through the window bathed everything in a golden glow.

Just then, the five older brothers suddenly ran in. They were all radiant and full of energy. The eldest, Yun Yi, dressed in a white robe, possessed a calm and composed demeanor. He said gently, "Little sister, shall we take you outside to play today?" His voice was like a spring breeze, warming everyone's hearts. A gentle breeze blew through the window, rustling the leaves, as if cheering for their outing.

Yunhai nodded excitedly; she had long wanted to go out and see the world. She put down her toy, clapped her hands, and a bright smile spread across her face.

So, the five older brothers took Yunhai to the street. The street was bustling with activity, people coming and going, and the cries of various vendors rising and falling. There were vendors selling candied hawthorns, the bright red ones glistening in the sunlight, making one's mouth water; there were vendors selling kites, colorful kites dancing in the air like beautiful butterflies; and there were vendors selling trinkets, the exquisite little ornaments dazzling the eye. The sunlight shone on the street, adding a warm touch to everything.

Yunhai stared wide-eyed at everything, her heart filled with curiosity. "Wow, the outside world is so lively!" she exclaimed to herself. Her brothers surrounded her tightly, as if afraid she might get hurt. She looked at this, touched that, as excited as a little sparrow. A gentle breeze blew by, bringing a touch of coolness.

Just as they were enjoying their stroll, Yunhai suddenly spotted a strange figure. It was a man dressed in a long black robe, his face obscured by a mask. Yet, Yunhai sensed a mysterious aura emanating from him. The man stood there quietly, seemingly out of place in his surroundings. His gaze lingered on Yunhai for a moment before he turned and left. The bustling crowd around them seemed oblivious to the mysterious man.

Yunhai was filled with doubt. "Who is this man? Why do I feel like he's a bit strange?" Her little head was full of questions. She wanted to chase after him to see, but her brothers held her tightly, not letting her run around.

Back home, Yunhai couldn't stop thinking about the mysterious man. She didn't know why, but she felt there was some connection between him and her jade pendant. She lay in bed, tossing and turning, unable to sleep. Moonlight streamed through the window onto her face as she looked at the jade pendant in her hand, her heart filled with anticipation. Outside, the stars twinkled in the night sky, as if telling a mysterious story.

Meanwhile, elsewhere, a young man was also troubled by a jade pendant. This man, named Ling Feng, was tall and handsome, with a resolute and courageous look in his eyes. He wore a black, close-fitting outfit, a long sword at his waist, making him appear dashing and heroic. The surrounding woods rustled the leaves, as if sighing at his troubles.

Ling Feng is a chivalrous swordsman who has been searching for the secret of this jade pendant. He has heard that only by finding another person with a jade pendant bearing the character "Hai" (sea) can the secret of the pendant be unlocked and powerful.

"What secrets does this jade pendant hold? And where is the person who has the same pendant?" Ling Feng wondered to himself. He gripped the pendant tightly in his hand, the character "Hai" (sea) on it shimmering mysteriously in the moonlight. The surrounding night was deep and dark, as if concealing countless secrets.

At this moment, Yunhai and Lingfeng were unaware that their fates were about to become intertwined. What opportunities and challenges would that mysterious jade pendant bring them? What adventures would they experience in this ancient world? Stay tuned for the next installment.
