The Rebirth of Bai Qi: The Way of Qi

Chapter 82 Reappearance of the Ruins

Bai Qi and his party left the village and embarked on their journey to the Boundless Land.

The mountains are serene and secluded, shrouded in mist under the morning light, making it feel as if every step you take is stepping into a fairyland among the clouds.

The group walked slowly, winding their way up the mountain path, their eyes drawn to the wonders of the world, their anticipation growing ever stronger for the boundless secret realm shrouded in legend.

On this beautiful morning, Bai Qi seemed to hear the sound of flowing water. Following the sound, he soon saw a crystal-clear stream flowing through the mountain valley.

The stream was crystal clear, with a few yellow fallen leaves floating on it, as if adrift and helpless.

A subtle resonance arose within him, harmonizing with the natural scenery. A voice murmured in his heart: "Without reaching the boundless realm, one can never truly unravel the mystery of Qi."

The only pedestrians on the road were Bai Qi and his loyal companions. Fan Yong seemed to remember something, a mysterious smile appearing on his face, and suggested, "Let's rest for a while and have a few brothers scout ahead; the edge of the Boundless Realm lies just ahead."

Although Han Xin was worried about delaying the journey, he nodded heavily for the sake of safety.

The group followed the stream downstream and saw steep rocks on both sides, with vines clinging to the cliff face, making it extremely dangerous. However, the path along the stream gradually widened, as if they had entered a rainforest.

Occasionally, birdsong could be heard from the woods, echoing through the silent valley, as if playing a prelude to something to come.

Han Fu held a bow and arrow, on high alert, her expression cautious, while Situ Yan beside her gently brushed her hair and hummed softly with a warm gaze, adding a sense of reassurance to everyone.

Around noon, the group arrived at a place known as "Boundless Village".

Fan Yong mentioned that this is the only way to the secret realm, and the villagers rarely go out, making it so peaceful that one can concentrate on their studies.

However, although Bai Qi appeared calm, unease still lingered in his heart, as if an invisible force was pulling him away.

"I've heard that the villagers here are ignorant and superstitious, and have not been in contact with the outside world for many years, but they still have many ancient legends. Perhaps we can find clues about the ruins from them."

A robust man who identified himself as Wang Bin stepped forward and explained to Bai Qi, his expression revealing undisguised curiosity.

When the village elders learned that a great man had come to visit, they gathered at the village entrance, some stroking their white beards, others adjusting their robes and bowing in reverence.

To avoid being impolite, Bai Qi respectfully returned the greeting, feeling a sense of wonder at the predestined connection.

At night, a bonfire was lit in the village, and all kinds of delicious food were laid out before him, but Bai Qi had no time to pay attention to them, his mind was still on the Boundless Secret Land.

Wang Bin sat to one side and ordered Wuwen to present an ancient book, saying that it was an old scroll preserved in the village, and that it might contain a clue to unlocking the secret realm.

Bai Qi reached out and took the scroll, flipping through it. The yellowed paper was covered with layers of exotic fragrance, and amidst the rustling sounds, it was as if a melody was lingering in his ears.

However, this unintentional flipping of the scroll astonished everyone. As a page was gently turned, suddenly, a golden light shone out from the scroll, wandering along the eaves, like a miraculous sight bestowed by the gods, drawing gasps of admiration from the villagers.

The ancient text within the scroll, illuminated by the moonlight, emerged word by word, transforming into a new guide pointing to the depths of the dense forest not far away. This startled Bai Qi, who had lost his way, as he saw the words written on the scroll: "The mirror at midnight shines, the seven luminaries are bright. Ask the wise, the victor will return."

"This scroll is clearly not an ordinary object; it may contain hidden secrets. We should proceed with caution."

Zhang Liang offered a reminder after reading it. Although he was exceptionally learned, he couldn't help but feel wary in the face of such an unusual phenomenon.

The mountains and forests were silent, but at midnight, the quacking of a few ducks startled people from their dreams.

Bai Qi suddenly sat up and saw that the campfire had long since gone out. He could only vaguely see the thick fog rolling in the distance, which seemed to give off a faint light.

A thought flashed through his mind: it must be the call of the ruins. He immediately roused his companions and they prepared to set off.

Fan Yong led the way, walking through the forest at night. The vegetation was sparse, yet creatures clung to it, radiating a mysterious light.

After walking for a good half hour, the group finally stood in front of an ancient building. The stone steps of the building were eye-catching, and ancient secret scripts were carved on both sides of the door, exuding an ancient charm and full of unknown majesty.

"Is this the Boundless Ruins you've been searching for?" Han Fu couldn't hide his surprise. He stepped forward to examine it closely and exclaimed, "A once-in-a-millennium event, now it reappears today."

Bai Qi had never seen such magnificent ancient building ruins before. He was amazed and touched the stone wall by the door, feeling the passage of time flowing within it.

A soft laugh came from the side, and Li Si emerged from the shadows, his demeanor elegant and his face handsome. His folding fan was slightly closed, and he had a half-smile on his face.

“What you pursue is also my goal,” Li Si said slowly, his eyes piercing, his hidden hostility clearly visible.

Beside him was Zhao Gao, whose short figure moved like a fox, waiting for an opportunity to strike.

Faced with this situation, Bai Qi showed no fear, and he met Li Si's gaze, standing in stare-to-stare confrontation.

He recalled their past, and his anger grew stronger, vowing never to back down.

At that very moment, accompanied by Li Si's rebuke, invisible restrictions surged up like a tide, and the entire ruins hummed, as if awakening and coming back to life.

Zhao Gao looked surprised, as if he could not believe these changes. He tried hard to figure out the mystery behind them, feeling unwilling but powerless.

Knowing the urgency of the situation, Bai Qi recalled the guidance in the ancient book and decided to test the waters.

He let out a low gulp, and relying on his intuition to perceive Qi, a sword-like force materialized in his mind, piercing towards the restrictive barrier.

In an instant, light and shadow intertwined, as if a crack had opened in the door, barely enough for one person to pass through.

This was precisely Li Si's blind spot. Bai Qi immediately stepped in, but just one step away, the energy of the ruins abruptly receded, forming a barrier that kept him out.

Li Si was furious, his expression ferocious. He then forcefully activated several invisible forces, attempting to break through.

"Bai Qi!" Li Si's voice boomed, filled with resentment. Han Fu and the others, seeing his actions, stood in front of Bai Qi and blocked him from the outside.

Bai Qi felt as if he were in a dream within the ruins, with clusters of golden light shimmering. He couldn't help but feel a strange vision, and the supreme source of Qi appeared before his eyes.

He sensed that this was the wisdom and power that many ancient Qi cultivators had pursued throughout their lives, like a baptism of enlightenment that struck directly at the deepest doubts in his heart.

A gentle breeze wafts through the heart of the ruins, weaving between illusion and reality, a subtle irony that seems to ask Bai Qi: "What do you seek here?"

Driven by his conscience, Bai Qi's thoughts flowed freely, and endless ideas exchanged within his heart.

He understood that what he had seen was only a brief glimpse, but it was enough to unlock a corner of the mystery, and more importantly, to grasp this unknowable destiny.

Outside the ruins, the crowd whispered amongst themselves. Han Xin looked grave, Fan Yong gripped his long sword tightly, and Han Fu was visibly nervous.

However, they did not back down, and their steadfast figures remained as strong as the Great Wall, protecting Bai Qi's meditation.

As time passed, Bai Qi knew that the scene was gradually fading away, but he also came to understand the true meaning of Qi cultivation, marking a new understanding of his own destiny.

Mastering one's own Qi is like pushing open the door to the top and gaining insight into the essence of life.

The secret of the Boundless Land is not merely a hidden method, but a spiritual symphony accumulated over the years.

Bai Qi sensed the tangible and intangible essence of the universe during this moment, and the darkness in his heart finally vanished, transforming into a radiant Dao heart that could withstand everything.

As the golden light fades and the ruins finally reveal their tranquility, only a faint, inky glow remains in the darkness, signifying the end of this journey.
