The Rebirth of Bai Qi: The Way of Qi
Chapter 24 Guiding Fate
At dawn the next day, Bai Qi, along with Han Fu and Situ Yan, were all ready to set off. The horses neighed as they carried the three of them onto the rugged path leading to the western border.
As dawn breaks and larks sing softly, the atmosphere is serene and peaceful.
It was this atmosphere that made Bai Qi's sense of mission even stronger.
The journey is long, with mountains rising and falling like dragons, and ancient paths winding and secluded, interspersed with swaying tree shadows, like mottled memories of history.
The three of them followed this long ancient road, gradually leaving behind the bustling Central Plains and entering a tranquil world where they were one.
The passes they passed were constantly changing, and occasionally they would encounter a few caravans from the Western Regions, with their peddlers and porters coming and going, carrying loads on their shoulders and backs, bringing the dust and exotic atmosphere of the surrounding area to Bai Qi and his companions.
Bai Qi carefully observed the merchants and travelers, searching with his usual calm gaze for any clues that might be related to the prophecy.
During this long journey, the friendship between the three grew even stronger.
Situ Yan often hummed Qin folk songs softly, while Han Fu would occasionally stop to discuss military strategies with Bai Qi. The three rode side by side, their moods relaxed and harmonious.
One afternoon near the border, Bai Qi and his companions were walking slowly along a valley when, as if by fate, they discovered an ancient ruin forgotten by time.
From afar, the ruins resembled the sleeping place of a powerful figure from the past, with massive stones lying across the ground, broken inscriptions, and an ancient aura of majesty surrounding them.
This ruin is hidden in the valley, surrounded by emerald screens, which cover most of the noise of the world.
Bai Qi couldn't help but stop, a sense of unprecedented shock welling up in his heart. He seemed to feel that this ruin had some kind of mysterious connection with his past life.
Han Fu whispered from the side, "It is said that the Western Regions are full of mysterious places. Perhaps this place is where the powerful people of the past once lived."
"Indeed, everything here seems to be preordained."
Situ Yan's eyes revealed both interest and vigilance.
Bai Qi felt something in his heart and could hardly suppress the burgeoning desire to explore within him.
As he carefully observed the surrounding scenery, he walked towards a deeply engraved stone tablet.
The stone tablet seemed ordinary, but in his eyes it exuded a certain strangeness that made him want to touch it and explore it.
The characters carved on the stone tablet are mottled and unclear, seemingly some kind of ancient seal script.
Bai Qi rolled up his sleeves and carefully removed the thin layer of dust covering the characters, gradually revealing several lines of text. He read them aloud, as if the sound could take him through time and space back to the era when the strong wielded their power.
The inscription was brief, yet the story it contained stirred endless imagination in Bai Qi.
Han Fu and Situ Yan listened carefully to Bai Qi's recitation and gradually came to appreciate the unique charm of the ruins.
After a long silence, Situ Yan said softly, "In this way, the deeds of our predecessors may inspire us, and the mysteries hidden in fate may be traceable."
The three continued searching the ruins, hoping to find more clues to guide their journey.
At noon, sunlight streamed down from the top of the valley, like a golden ribbon wrapping around the entire ruins.
By this light alone, the faded ruins seemed to regain their former glory.
Unwittingly, Bai Qi's gaze fell on another conspicuous spot, where several tattered scrolls were displayed. He bent down, picked up one of them, and gently unfolded it.
The scroll is decorated with intricate patterns and texts, and faintly reveals a kind of protective energy flow.
"This is..." Bai Qi murmured to himself, then suddenly realized the extraordinary nature of the scroll he was holding.
His mind raced, and rumors about the Heavenly Tribulation came flooding back to him.
After several resonances, the contents of the scroll were found to be closely related to the prophecies spoken by Sammon.
Soon, Bai Qi carefully put away the scroll, and lightly stepped back to Han Fu and Situ Yan's side, sharing the secrets and insights within with them.
“Precious things should not be shown to others lightly. However, since we are close friends, we are willing to explore its mysteries together.”
As Bai Qi uttered these words, a resolute look appeared in his eyes.
Immediately, the three exchanged knowing glances and began to carefully interpret the meaning behind the scrolls.
The intricate and complex runes, strung together in a continuous chain, guided Bai Qi to understand, to reach, and to perceive all the changes that were about to occur because of the Heavenly Dao.
The scenery changed silently. As dusk fell, the wind blew and the clouds rolled, and the sky was tinged with a faint glow of sunset.
Bai Qi's expression was calm, as if he had gained some understanding, and a certain determination was gradually rising within him.
Leaving behind the ruins, they continued westward along the path, traversing countless mountains and valleys along the way.
The journey at dusk was filled with endless tranquility, which also provided Bai Qi with ample time for reflection.
He recounted the details of his journey to this place and realized that what he sought was the guidance of destiny.
Although the Heavenly Tribulation of Lightning seemed far beyond his reach, Bai Qi always held the way to victory in his heart, using destiny as a torch to illuminate the rugged and dangerous road ahead.
He knew that fate, as the inscription on the stone tablet showed, could not be determined by human power, but required a broad mind and courage to face it.
The road ahead may be arduous, but what is there to fear? Bai Qi gently pressed the sword hanging at his waist, and a sound seemed to emanate from the scabbard, as if echoing and resonating.
The sword is both a weapon and a symbol of the heart. If one has the power to dominate the way of heaven, one will naturally act as a gentleman.
Bai Qi carries the burden of past life's hatred and present life's gratitude, yet he fearlessly embarks on this journey of destiny.
Sunlight illuminates his silhouette. On this long journey westward, Bai Qi stands alone yet unyielding. His story will continue to be written on this boundless land, eventually coalescing into the prophesied final ending.
At that very moment, Bai Qi's horse hooves pounded lightly, blending with the sound of the wind, his mind and spirit becoming one, as if he were breathing in unison with heaven and earth.
He knew that none of this was accidental, and the answer he sought was quietly waiting for him to discover.
