The Rebirth of Bai Qi: The Way of Qi

Chapter 198 The Secret Valley of Encountering Dragons

Bai Qi sprinkled the remaining water from his hand, a fleeting sense of nostalgia passing through his heart, brief and serene, yet as enduring as a stream.

At that moment, the first rays of dawn pierced through the dense forest, illuminating the faces of him and his companion, creating a picturesque scene.

Situ Yan tilted her head slightly, as if listening to the silent whispers of the stream. Her hair swayed gently in the morning breeze, making her appear exceptionally tender.

The stream murmured incessantly in his ears. Bai Qi raised his eyebrows and looked closely. He discovered that there seemed to be a path extending for several miles at the foot of the mountain not far ahead. It gradually became steep and sloping, and the surrounding area was covered with vines and lush greenery.

Han Xin strolled closer, his gaze fixed on the distance, a hint of curiosity beneath his restraint. He slowly said, "Brother Bai, this place seems unlike any ordinary mountain. Shall we explore further?"

Bai Dian nodded, and the unfinished connection in his heart gave rise to deeper contemplation.

He turned around and looked at Han Xin, Situ Yan, and Han Fu. In the exchange of glances, the four of them had already made a decision.

They lifted their feet, fearless and undaunted, and continued along the stream, searching for the unsolved path.

The path beneath our feet, shrouded in mist and dew, seemed like a secluded paradise. The road gradually twisted and turned, first narrow and then widening, with steep mountains on both sides, towering peaks, and clouds rolling and unrolling, making one feel as if they were in a celestial fairyland.

As they stepped off the last narrow stone step, the view suddenly opened up, making Bai Qi and the others' eyes light up.

They found themselves in a secluded valley, surrounded by lush greenery and exotic flowers and plants that seemed to be scattered like stars in the sky, each vying for attention.

The air here is incredibly pure, sweet as morning dew, and refreshing to the soul.

Bai Qi glanced around and saw a spiritual spring in the center—crystal clear, its radiance like scattered diamonds on the water's surface, sparkling brilliantly.

The stream originates from this sacred spring and flows through the valley, transforming this once desolate valley into a hidden paradise. Subtly, it makes one's internal energy seem to flow more abundantly without one even realizing it.

"The Four Directions Spring is a wonder I have never heard of before. To be able to see it today is truly an honor beyond measure."

Han Fu descended in an instant, her face serene and joyful. She unconsciously uttered a line, which made Situ Yan smile and laugh, revealing her refined taste.

Bai Qi sat upright by the spring for a while, but a strange sense of unease arose in his heart, seemingly not only because of the spiritual spring.

He realized that this secret valley probably concealed many mysteries and trials, and its full extent was not yet revealed.

He dared not relax his pace even slightly, intending to carefully examine the surrounding rocks and grass.

Suddenly, a thought struck him, as if he had touched some hidden door, and a glimmer of light flashed in his eyes.

At that moment, a faint hum suddenly came to his ear. He listened intently and heard the spiritual energy from all directions intertwining and accumulating into a sound, as if a dragon's roar was hidden.

Faintly, clouds and mist swirled above the spiritual spring, resembling a mysterious and awe-inspiring flying dragon.

Bai Qi swiftly sensed the impending storm; that natural harmony between the relationship and the principles of Qi made him feel as if he were one with the entire world.

He was immersed in the sensation, and gradually saw the form within his mind, realizing that this was an extremely mysterious place.

This valley must harbor a dragon, no ordinary creature. To befriend a dragon may bring about a magnificent and wondrous destiny.

While he stood still, Han Xin and his other friends around him did not notice anything unusual. But when Bai Qi regained his senses, he immediately gave Han Xin and the others a hand gesture.

Although his words did not reveal much, they had already attracted the attention of Han Xin, Han Fu, and Situ Yan, prompting them to carefully investigate the changes around them.

At this moment, the valley was filled with the sounds of wind and clouds, and the Qi in the spiritual spring became even more intense and hot. The faint sounds of wind and water could be heard echoing, coming from all directions and forming a magnificent ancient melody.

Situ Yan clenched her fists, raised her head, and looked up, her eyes filled with undisguised awe.

"Brother, do you know what this is?" Her voice was soft, yet like the tinkling of a spring, harmonizing with the wind singing in the valley.

Bai Qi's eyes shone brightly as he recalled the guidance he received from the Water Hermit. He couldn't help but blurt out, "The ancient book, the Classic of Mountains and Seas, says that dragons dwell in Kunlun and receive blessings from the spiritual source."

This valley is believed to be a place where dragons meet, protected by heavenly blessings, and possessing unique and extraordinary vital energy.

Han Fu smiled, then suddenly realized that what lay before her was likely a hidden paradise, a place where the wonders of heaven and earth were concealed.

She spoke softly from the corner of her eyebrow: "If we are destined to be together, we will surely receive divine blessings and accomplish great things."

Bai Qi dared not be negligent. He focused his mind and observed the surging waves of the illusion array. It was not ordinary; it was the unsolved mystery of this ancient valley.

A thought struck him: perhaps the key to truly breaking this illusion array lies in communicating with the dragon in the valley.

Suddenly, the spiritual spring in the valley surged like a rainbow, flowing all around. The faint light in the water gathered and gradually condensed into a huge shadow, still hovering in the center of the spring.

The spring water is like a dragon, its shape and momentum seeming to exist yet vanish, like an elusive and unpredictable giant spirit.

Han Xin was shocked. Even though he had seen many great things over the years, he was involuntarily drawn to this overwhelming force and stood silently in his tracks.

Seeing this scene, Bai Qi knew that this was both his destiny and his fate. It seemed that everything was ultimately returning to that point, and this was the mysterious opportunity right now.

His resolve remained unwavering; on the contrary, his heart was pure and serene, and he faced the dragon's soul with equanimity.

The four directions are serene and vast, the heavens and earth are boundless, and the water flows with the wind, pouring forth boundless grandeur from this moment on, as if it were the primordial convergence between the soul and the Tao.

Bai Qi's mind entered a boundless and clear state, where the divine dragon seemed both real and illusory, as if he could touch it, and his mind and spirit merged with it.

So he stood in the valley, becoming one with the myriad waves, and all things here merged into his heart. Even the unopened chapters of destiny seemed to have turned to an important section, and the mysteries of the universe and the appearance of gods were revealed to him in a quiet order.

Bai Qi focused his attention, communicating with the divine dragon to understand its original intention in guarding the valley.

For a long time, the dragon's might has suppressed all directions, not out of selfish motives, but because of a moment of estrangement, but to truly protect this spiritual source from the intrusion of the mortal world.

Bai Qi, with a shared spirit, in this moment, seemed to find his past life's destiny within the valley: the journey interrupted by the raging flames and the unfulfilled tribulations. Now, it has risen again in this place, all because the world is still unclear and the cycle of fate is in full swing, hoping to open up a new ending.

After standing still for a long time, Bai Qi felt as if he had been given a nectar, and his soul became extremely clear.

He emerged from his own heart, and entered the immortal gate through his own dream. He did not need to speak of things, nor could he travel on clouds. He came and went without a country, and could not see any path. He was as present as he was now.

Bai Qi then used the spirit jade as a binding thread, and with one hand in his palm, the old chain faintly reconnected, urging the Qi wheel to gradually illuminate it.

At the moment when he met Longmou's eyes, their gazes met. The world was boundless, and so were their wishes. Unhindered light shone forth, and they possessed boundless joy.

This intense thought, in a sudden moment, caused his dragon soul to resonate with him, and he felt a solemn and questioning sense of unity.

He only asked for the dragon's help to suppress the evil spirits, and the world was instantly enlightened. The surrounding spiritual winds seemed to chase each other like sparrows.

Bai Qi and the spiritual spring worked together, causing a surge of Qi, spiritual energy to flow into his body, a sudden rain shower, and the absorption of the starry sea.

A heart full of passion, a vast realm, a chaotic yet magnificent sight, extreme changes and regrets all blooming together without a sound.

At this moment, the righteous energy shone together, the dragon circled and soared in the shadow, and they sang softly together. Bai Qi's soul was unexpectedly granted a rare gift. The spiritual spring flowed gently, and the energy circulated. Then, the soul of the divine dragon was seen to transform into a spiritual shadow, as if it were leaving behind light to offer to the world.

Amidst this vastness, Bai Qi looked up and said, "I too will do my utmost for Wen Ying."

Please help me to transform my shadow into form, to attain sublime virtue, and to transcend the cycle of reincarnation.

From this single thought arose a fruit, and Bai Qi was dazzled by countless clouds.

Yet, the traces of the soul's radiance danced freely, seemingly conveying myriad responses, falling upon thousands of shores, and connecting heaven and earth.

The light and lightning flashed, and the dragon attached itself to the artistic form, with red springs connecting the hills.

Though separated by distance, they responded with one heart, and with the help of all the ministers, they led their spirits through the ages.

All these things at once were like the fate of the former military officers and relatives, who fled to Sichuan, only to find themselves in vain.

The dragon's meaning extends far beyond a single generation of prosperity; it has already subdued the transformation of grasses, causing the earth to tremble and grow cold—this is no mere overreaction.

Perhaps, everything follows its course, and one should be able to adapt as needed.

Bai Qi was also comforted, and the dragon's intentions turned back to Feng Chong, and he wished to discuss matters with the Dao.

Because the beginning is complete, sorrow, all things continue in sequence, beginning with the revelation of Heaven.

The letter, imbued with a strange meaning, deceived me, seeking to join the journey. The heavens should fall, and we should build a vast empire there, receiving divine judgment; one of us should not be different.

The light followed and then departed, rising gradually yet seemingly never ceasing. The promise of the spring could be fulfilled, but the ecliptic's path of watermarks did not cease. The traveler alone felt obstructed, adrift and not yet back to heaven.

Before I could even think of it, I should stop at the shore and leave, rather than gaze at the mountain from its edge.
