Following Liz's directions, Rick and Mieko walked through several corridors and arrived at the staff living area.

When the two arrived at the staff living area, they found it teeming with zombies in every corner.

Rick remained calm upon seeing this. He used the ice sprayer attached to his Beowulf assault rifle to fire at the zombies in front of him. Rick said to Mieko.

When Rick saw Mieko's scheming face, he trembled uncontrollably. He had never seen Mieko so cunning and terrifying. This made Rick realize that if he did anything to wrong Mieko in the future, and if she turned evil, he would definitely not live past the next day.

Upon seeing the two, the zombie roared in the office area, and then its throat began to churn. Liquid started flowing from its lungs down its neck, and soon its throat became extremely swollen.

Just then, Rick seemed to remember something, and he pulled Mieko, who was still standing there grinning excitedly at the fat zombie, over.

Suddenly, the giant zombie spat out a mouthful of yellowish-green mucus towards where Mihoko was.

In a moment, the slime hit the spot where Mieko had just been standing. Wisps of white smoke began to appear on the ground covered by the slime. Soon after, the slime disappeared completely, leaving a small pit in the ground. This scene pulled Mieko back to reality from her madness.

Seeing this, Rick immediately pulled Mieko away from the zombie. As the two moved away, the zombie slowly moved towards them with its bloated legs.

Mihoko was completely bewildered as her man pulled her backward, while the zombie continued to roar and move towards them.

Ten seconds later

Rick stopped at a safe distance from the zombie, then materialized his BFG-50A anti-materiel sniper rifle. He raised the rifle, aimed at the zombie's torso, and pulled the trigger.

With a loud bang, the extremely high-pitched gunshot of the BFG-50A came from the muzzle flash suppressor. A .50 BMG bullet made a whistling sound as it flew towards the zombie's torso.

Instantly, a huge bloody hole appeared in the fat zombie's round belly, and the zombie was knocked to the ground by the huge kinetic energy of the .50 BMG bullet.

After Rick finished doing all this, he led Mieko out of the staff office area and headed towards the front hall of the underground research institute.
