The Walking Dead: I Sell Arms as a Sixth-Rate Seller in the Apocalypse

Chapter 61 Rick is injured and attacked, forced into a predicament!

17:20pm

Outside a church on a street in the North Side of Atlanta

Next to the trash can.

A Black man who had lost his right hand lay groaning in pain against the wall.

Rick walked up to the man with a mocking expression.

He laughed evilly when he saw the severed hand on a Remington M700 bolt-action rifle five meters away.

Rick walked over to the rifle, picked it up, and approached the Black man, smiling as he said, "Hey, isn't this the esteemed officer? What's gotten into you, looking so disheveled?"

The black man in the police uniform on the ground said, "You damn bastard, you think I'm all alone here? You think you've won? Cherish your moment, or you won't be laughing later."

Upon hearing the man's threat, Rick was taken aback for a moment, then turned his right hand into a palm strike and chopped the black man on the neck, instantly knocking him unconscious.

Rick tied the unconscious black man up with cable ties and then threw him into his personal storage space. At that moment, Rick had a bad feeling.

In the blink of an eye, a gunshot rang out, and a bullet grazed Rick's left shoulder.

Rick felt a warm sensation on his left shoulder. He reached out and touched it, only to find his hand covered in blood. He also discovered a deep gash on his right shoulder, caused by a large-caliber bullet.

"Damn it! Who the hell is this bastard who dares to shoot me in the back? Don't wait until I recover, or I'll blow your head off in a minute!" Rick cursed at the front, then crouched down and rolled away from where he stood. In an instant, two marks appeared on the ground where Rick left, which were the marks left by the bullets hitting the ground.

Seeing this, Rick didn't underestimate the situation. He rolled backward again and landed next to a flower bed. Using the flower bed as cover, Rick lay down under the flower bed and observed his surroundings.

In an apartment building not far from Rick, two men dressed in SWAT uniforms stood there and said, "Damn, he managed to dodge it. Just who is this kid?"

Another man in a SWAT uniform said, "Michael, did you just see that? He made Franklin disappear out of thin air, like magic."

The SWAT member named Michael said, "No, Jerry, that's just a cheap magic trick. There's no way such a bizarre ability as making a person disappear in real life. It's just a trick performed by a third-rate magician."

Jerry, the SWAT member, said to Michael with dissatisfaction, "No, Michael, what I saw with my own eyes can't be fake. I saw him do nothing, he just touched Franklin's body, and Franklin disappeared into thin air. If it were really magic, wouldn't it need props to cover it up before it could happen? I suspect this kid has special abilities."

Michael scoffed, “Hey, buddy, that’s just a magician clown who didn’t die in the apocalypse. Look how scared you are. You’re supposed to be the bravest in our police force, but now you’re even less courageous than me? If this gets back today, we’ll be laughed at by everyone, especially those two bastards, Ivor and Cruise.”

Upon hearing this, Jerry grabbed Michael's SWAT vest and said, "Michael, you'd better keep this to yourself. I won't allow you to report what just happened back to the police station, or I'll throw you into the shelter below the police station to feed the zombies."

Upon hearing this, Michael's expression immediately turned timid as he said to Jerry, "Hey! Relax, buddy. I didn't mean to say that, but Franklin really has disappeared. If we don't have an explanation, the boss won't let us off easily when we get back. Franklin is one of our boss's most loyal subordinates."

Jerry released Michael and said, "In that case, let's catch that magician clown. Whether Franklin is alive or dead, we'll kill the clown and then kill Franklin. We'll blame the clown. That damn Franklin dared to touch my woman just because he's the boss's most loyal subordinate. I've wanted to kill him for a long time."

Michael nodded and said, "That's right. Every time the boss assigns a mission, he always goes to the easiest position, while he always puts the two of us in the most dangerous positions. Even when the mission fails, he pushes us out to take the blame. That damn Franklin deserves to die."

Upon hearing this, Jerry continued, "Alright, Michael, stop complaining now and think about how to catch that magician clown. The last place he appeared was quite far from here, so we need to find a way to catch him and force him to hand over that bastard Franklin."

Rick didn't hear their plan. He immediately took a blue coffee candy, which relieved the pain in his shoulder and broadened his vision.

Just then, Mieko's telepathic communication came through: "Husband, husband, are you alright? I heard gunshots."

Rick immediately replied, "Honey, use the heart rate detector on the Night Demon silenced sniper rifle to check the enemy's location. I suspect there's more than one enemy sniper. I'm currently trapped under a flower bed at the street corner and I'm safe for now."

Mieko breathed a sigh of relief after hearing Rick say that she was safe for the time being. She immediately turned on the heart rate detector, but the detector showed nothing except herself and Rick in the distance, which puzzled Mieko.

Mihoko immediately reported the situation to Rick, who listened to Mihoko's report.

Rick lay under the flower bed, pondering a solution. He thought of many methods, but each one required exposing his body, which Rick felt was too risky to be worth trying.

Just then, another gunshot rang out from the left side of Rick's location.

In an instant, the corner of the flower bed where Rick was standing was shattered by the brutal gunshot.

The shattered soil, mixed with fragments of the flowerbed, splattered all around. Rick was unfortunately caught in the crossfire; a sharp, broken piece of brick pierced his newly healed left arm.

In an instant, bright red blood gushed out from where the shard had pierced the skin.

Rick felt a burning pain in his left arm. After this test shot, Rick determined that the sniper rifle used by the opponent was definitely a large-caliber anti-materiel sniper rifle.

Meanwhile, Jerry was aiming a large-caliber anti-materiel sniper rifle, the American-made BFG-50A, at the flower bed.

Michael said to Jerry, "Hey buddy, I have a way to force him to show up."

Jerry responded, "Oh? Michael, get to the point and shut up. Don't bother me while I'm aiming."

Michael rolled his eyes at Jerry and said, "Buddy, you shoot where you were aiming, and I'll shoot the other side of the flower bed. We'll both fire at the same time. That magician clown can only hide in the middle of the flower bed, and the .50 BMG's power is just enough to shatter the edge of the flower bed, sending shards flying everywhere. If that kid lies on the ground, he'll definitely get hit by the flower bed shards from both ends. When he shows up, we'll seize the opportunity to aim at his thigh and knock him incapacitated. Once he hands over that damn Franklin, we'll both kill them together."

Upon hearing this, Jerry said, "Great idea, Michael, I think it's feasible. I'll count to three and fire at the same time."

Michael nodded and said, "Count it, I'm ready."

At this moment, Jerry started counting down. When Jerry counted to three, the two fired at the same time. Two .50 BMG armor-piercing rounds cut through the air and flew towards the front and back of the flower bed where Rick was lying.

Instantly, fragments flew everywhere, and Rick, upon hearing the gunshot, immediately entered his personal space. He knew that without using his personal space, he would have no way to escape his predicament.

However, hiding in his personal space was not a solution, since going out of the personal space would still leave him in the same place, and Rick was currently unable to sense whether enemies outside the personal space were shooting at his location, which made him feel very passive.

Rick then sent a telepathic message to Mihoko, saying, "Wife, wife, where are you now? It's very dangerous outside. Don't make any rash moves to come looking for me."

Mihoko replied, "Honey, I'm still in the attic, but I heard two incredibly loud gunshots. They sounded a lot like the Beowulf assault rifle I use, but louder."

Rick: "Yes, honey, I judged that the gunshot came from a Barrett M82A3 .50 anti-materiel sniper rifle. Although I didn't see what the enemy looked like, I judged that this group of enemies was well-equipped and should be a group of well-equipped and experienced combat personnel."

Upon hearing this, Mihoko immediately became anxious and asked, "What do we do now? I can't see what's happening on your end anymore. I'm hiding in the attic, and I don't know if they've found me yet."

Rick: "Honey, don't worry, I'm safe in my personal space right now. Just stay where you are and don't make any sudden moves. Keep an eye on the heart rate monitor. If you see any moving lights, send me a telepathic message immediately."

After Rick finished speaking, he began to organize his weapons and equipment. At this time, he had a tactical crossbow, an M14 Crazy Horse, a Beowulf assault rifle, a VSSM Night Demon silenced sniper rifle, and two MAC-10 silenced submachine guns.

Looking at these weapons, Rick's mind went blank. He didn't know what to do. He had no grenades, no smoke grenades, and no C4. His body couldn't withstand the power of .50 BMG.

Just then, Rick remembered the multi-purpose bolts on the tactical crossbow he had unlocked earlier, one of which was a smoke bolt that could release a large amount of smoke to obscure the enemy's vision. He then loaded the tactical crossbow with the smoke bolt.

Rick quickly treated the wound on his shoulder, then sucked on a blue coffee candy before slinging his Night Demon silenced sniper rifle over his shoulder and, with his tactical crossbow now equipped with smoke bolts, left his personal space and returned to the flowerbed.
