The Walking Dead: I Sell Arms as a Sixth-Rate Seller in the Apocalypse

Chapter 51 Rick patiently reassures Glenn; the travel passenger list is confirmed!

9:30 am

Meeting point at the abandoned quarry camp.

Rick appeared before everyone with Mieko.

One of them was a tall, handsome soldier wearing an army combat uniform and carrying a Beowulf assault rifle.

One is a petite and adorable girl wearing a white Japanese school uniform and carrying a Beowulf assault rifle.

The two, one male and one female, one tall and one short, one a mature soldier and the other a petite and beautiful young girl, appeared hand in hand before the crowd.

When the people in the camp saw the two, they couldn't help but be fed a mouthful of dog food by their affectionate appearance.

Glenn, who had arrived earlier, stood quietly not far away, watching the couple showing their affection.

Although Glenn had feelings for Mihoko, he knew he couldn't bring himself to steal someone else's wife. Putting aside whether he had the guts, the fact that Rick had saved them at the department store meant he wouldn't covet his savior's wife, especially since his savior was the leader of his own camp.

Rick noticed Glenn watching him and Mieko, and he said to Mieko, "Honey, wait here for me. I have to take care of something, and I'll come back to keep you company in a bit."

Upon hearing this, Mihoko nodded obediently and said to Rick, "Then I'll go find Maggie and Beth first. Remember to come back and find me when you're done."

Rick nodded upon hearing this and walked towards Glenn, who was standing alone in a daze not far away.

Rick approached Glenn, put his hand on Glenn's shoulder, and said, "Glenn, shall we go to the riverbank and talk?"

Glenn nodded at Rick without saying anything, and followed Rick to the riverbank.

Abandoned quarry camp by a small river.

Rick and Glenn stood facing each other, staring into each other for several minutes. Rick spoke first, asking, "Glenn, do you like my wife, Mieko Nohara?"

Glenn was instantly petrified by this blunt question. He never expected Rick to start so directly. This soul-searching question caught him completely off guard.

Seeing Glenn's expression, Rick wasn't surprised. After all, Sean had told him about it yesterday. However, he hadn't expected that this Korean-American would be interested in his wife, Mieko. This made him somewhat confused about Glenn. Rick had read the original series and knew that Maggie had taken the initiative to seduce Glenn. Given Glenn's unapproachable personality, he wouldn't actively pursue any girl. However, he hadn't expected that this unapproachable Glenn would be interested in his wife, Mieko, whom he considered his most sensitive and unapproachable person. This made Rick somewhat angry.

However, he wasn't angry with Glenn for this. Rick was actually quite happy that his wife was so popular. He learned from those small fry that his love for Mieko surpassed that of the two Glenn sisters. This made everyone else think that Mieko held the highest place in their hearts, and no one dared to neglect her.

Rick was very satisfied with this; it was exactly the effect he wanted. Although he had many women, he still wanted to distinguish between them. Mihoko was his chosen queen, and if she didn't have some prestige, how would he manage the others when he wasn't at the camp?

Thinking of this, Rick said to Glenn, "Glenn, aren't you especially envious that I can find a beautiful girl like Mieko to be my wife just by going out for a short while?"

Glenn nodded at Rick upon hearing this, but said nothing.

Rick continued, "Do you know how much effort I put into winning Mieko's heart and getting her to marry me?"

Glenn shook his head without saying anything, but the expression on his face showed that he was interested in the matter.

Rick continued, "I braved the zombie-infested highway to get to a motel for Mieko. I didn't recognize Mieko at that time. But when I was on guard duty at the motel, I saw Mieko get out of the four-door pickup truck and walk towards the second floor where I was, holding a katana."

Rick paused after speaking, but Glenn, who was next to him, seemed to have become interested and asked, "And then, boss, continue! Don't keep us in suspense!"

Rick cleared his throat and said, "Ahem, when I came to the second floor, I saw Mieko's face clearly, and like you, I instantly fell in love with her. However, unlike you, when I saw her, I made up my mind to protect her for the rest of my life. In other words, I'm not aiming for a boyfriend-girlfriend relationship; I'm aiming for marriage and children."

Upon hearing this, Glenn asked Rick, "Why? You've only met her once, and you've already chosen her as your life partner?"

Rick smiled and said, "My intuition tells me that this beautiful girl with a ponytail, wearing a white Japanese school uniform and holding a samurai sword will be a very virtuous wife in the future. Choosing her to marry and have children is the most important thing for me."

Glenn was shocked to hear this; he had never heard of anyone who could determine that someone was their other half based on intuition, but he had witnessed it today.

Seeing Glenn's expression, Rick ignored it and continued, "To win her over, I knocked her out and carried her to a clean room in a motel."

Glenn interjected, "So you didn't do anything to her?"

Rick shook his head and said, "I'm not the kind of beast who takes advantage of people in distress. Besides, the situation was urgent. After I knocked her out, hundreds of zombies chased us to the motel."

Glenn continued, "Then what about the Green sisters?"

Rick: "They both came out of that four-door pickup truck, just like Mieko. They came out to find Mieko, but I didn't hurt them. Instead, I took them to the room next to Mieko's and settled them in. Then I started fighting the zombies that came up to the second floor. I killed them all in no time."

Glenn: "Did Maggie and Beth become your wives around this time?"

Rick: "The two of them witnessed my heroic slaughter of zombies through the window of the guest room, and then they gave me their first time. But I didn't treat that first time as a one-time thing. I immediately made them both my wives."

Glenn asked suspiciously, "Why are you having multiple wives? Didn't you say you only wanted Mieko?"

Rick retorted, "That's because I have the ability. Let alone three or four wives, even a hundred or eighty wives, I could support them all, not to mention the children they would bear for me. In this apocalypse, strength is paramount. Back when you had power, you could have as many wives as you wanted. All of this was based on basic strength, and I possess that strength, and even more. That's one of the reasons I can have three or four wives. Glenn, do you understand?"

Glenn scratched his head and asked, "So how did you manage to win over Mieko? Did she not know you were already with the Glenn sisters at the time?"

Rick: "That's right. Mieko didn't know that at the time. In fact, when I went to visit her in her room, she held a samurai sword to my neck and took away my weapon from killing zombies before she started talking to me. But she woke up early and knew that I was killing zombies outside to save her. After we talked, I learned about her childhood experiences, and then I made her a promise. She had some feelings for me. After all, she was naive, and what girl wouldn't be moved when a hero steps forward to save her in a moment of danger?"

Glenn, upon hearing this, said, "And then you two got together?"

Rick: "Not so fast. I confessed to her first, she thought about it, and then gave me her virginity. I took advantage of the lingering warmth of that first time to make some promises to her, and she was moved. So I struck while the iron was hot and proposed to her, and she agreed. That's how I won over Mieko. I hope you don't tell anyone else. I've only told you this. I know you're not a big mouth. I'm telling you this so you understand a principle: if you want to pursue your other half, you not only need to have enough strength as a foundation, but you also need a handsome face like mine, a mouth that can sweet-talk women, and an important opportunity to win over the woman you like. Do you understand?"

Glenn nodded after listening and said, "Boss, I understand. Thank you for coming all this way to tell me this and for teaching me how to pursue the woman I like."

Rick glanced at Glenn, nodded, and said, "Very good, it's good that you understand. All my hard work in explaining this to you wasn't in vain. As for Mieko's matter..."

Glenn said firmly, "Don't worry, boss, I, Glenn, am not that kind of person. I'm not the kind of scum who would covet another man's wife."

"Oh? Glenn, you mean I'm a scumbag?"

At this moment, Sean emerged from the bushes and stood behind Glenn, smiling as he spoke.

Glenn was startled when he heard Sean's voice, and then said, "No, Instructor Sean, I didn't mean that, don't overthink it!"

Seeing that the desired effect had been achieved, Rick said to Sean, "Alright, Sean, stop scaring Glenn. He's such a good guy, but your words and the look on your face are giving him PTSD. It's getting late, let's get down to business."

Upon hearing this, Sean said to Glenn, "Glenn, I am now officially informing you that after the bloody battle the night before last, you have proven that you are qualified to join my task force. After discussing with Rick, I hereby grant you special permission to officially join the team."

Rick: "That's right, Glenn, you've proven yourself. I'm now allowing you to join my army. For now, you'll work in Instructor Sean's task force. Once you've gained enough experience, I'll allow you to form your own squad. I'll have Instructor Sean give you your uniform and equipment later. You can go about your business now."

After Rick finished speaking, he told Glenn to leave.

Glenn, upon hearing this, wisely left, leaving only Sean and Rick by the river.

Rick said to Sean, "Sean, how's it going? Have you finalized the team selection? Who's on it? Give me a report now."

Upon hearing this, Sean replied, "Boss, I've arranged the personnel for this trip: Dale, T-boy, Glenn, Moore, Daryl, Andrea, Amy, Morales, Beth, Maggie, Jacqueline, Carol, Sophia, my wife Lori, your wife Mieko, and you and me, a total of 17 people. We'll be driving military-grade Humvees, tactical MTVRs, four-door pickup trucks, and Dale's RV."

Upon hearing Sean's report, Rick exclaimed, "Isn't this the entire main cast mobilized? Not a single member of the main cast was left behind. This operation has taken away nearly half of the camp's manpower." However, Rick wasn't worried. He thought it was just right. The CDC did need people to defend it, and he also needed to take Mihoko to find her boyfriend, Park Miri, which also required manpower.

Thinking this, Rick nodded to Sean and said, "Very good, Sean, you did a great job. These people are arranged exactly to my liking. Now get ready, and we'll set off!"

Upon hearing this, Sean immediately ran to inform everyone on the list to make final preparations before departure.

Rick, on the other hand, headed towards the direction where his three wives were chatting in the tactical MTVR.
