Harry Potter and the Virtue of Miss Potter

Chapter 67 It really was Quirrell! (3)

"What is that sound?"

"It sounds like the sound of wings flapping."

"Sounds like...bees, or...sparrows?" The group drew their wands, ready to face a new wave of danger.

The group opened a door, and inside were many, many unknown things flying high in the air.

I've never seen a bird like this before.

“This looks…like a flying key.” Wu Mu wiped his glasses, which had just been stained by the Devil’s Web.

"There must be a key that can open that door." As they were walking, two brooms suddenly appeared in front of them.

"A broom?" Wu Mu didn't think much of it; he just glanced at it.

"That's strange." Harry became more wary and examined the broom first.

“Alohomora!” Ron tried to open the door with a spell, but the door seemed to have been enchanted.

"No way! It can't be opened? There are so many keys on it! We'll have to find it next year!" Wu Mu really had no patience. In the 21st century, she hated looking for things she had accidentally lost.

"What we're looking for is an old-fashioned large key, which may be rusted like a doorknob."

“There I see it, the one with the injured wing!” Harry, with his Seeker’s experience, quickly spotted the key, but then looked down at the broom.

"What's wrong, Harry?"

"It was so effortless."

"Don't worry, brother! There are two of us!" Wu Mu patted his shoulder, looking quite pleased with himself.

"You can do it! You are the youngest Seekers and Chasers in history!"

Harry listened to Ron and grabbed the broom, but the keys flew toward Harry as if they had finally found their prey.

Wu Mu quickly mounted his broom and swept all the keys away with a single sweep.

"Brother! Go grab the one we need! I'll hold off these keys!" Harry began flying rapidly toward the key, while Ayam followed behind him, swatting them all away with his broom when they all gathered.

But these keys, like people, had the ability to think. They split into two teams, chasing after Harry and Wesley respectively.

"The key has come to life!" Wu Mu couldn't help but blurt out as he looked at this bizarre scene. Neither the movie nor the original novel mentioned that the key could think.

Surrounded by the keys, Harry couldn't properly chase after the key and could only choose to dodge first. However, Wu Mu, having let go of his hands, fell down and grabbed the broom with his hands.

"Can you catch the broom this time, Wumu?"

"No! This broom isn't Little Starlight! It's resisting me! I can't control it properly! It must be because it's been cursed!" Wu Mu used his arms to move his head to a position higher than the broom, then used his waist to lift his legs up.

Ignoring his own situation, Aymu first swatted away the pile of keys behind Harry, freeing Harry so he could grab the old-fashioned key. The two then jumped off the broom.

"I'll just call you Pat Pat!" Wu Mu was still giving the unfamiliar broom a name.

"Quick, Wyman!" Wyman ran to the door after hearing Harry call his name. The moment the door closed, the keys were plunged into the door like knives.

"Oh my god! I was thinking of getting on good terms with Paipai so that things would be easier with it." Wu Mu rolled over and sat on the ground. She knew that if she was a beat slower, she would be dead.

“I feel something’s not right, it’s really not right,” Hermione noticed.

“What is this?” Wu Mu patted one of the statues.

"Where is this? A cemetery?" Harry and his two companions looked a little nervous, but she knew what these things were, so she wasn't afraid.

“This isn’t a graveyard, it’s a giant wizard’s chessboard.” Ron was a regular at wizard’s chess, so he naturally knew what it was.

After he said the words "Wizard's Chessboard," the light next to him turned on.

"The door's over there!" Harry pointed to the door ahead, and the group headed in that direction.

But when the statues sensed it, they all pulled out their stone swords.

"We can't get through... Doesn't that mean we have to win this game?" Wu Mu looked at the enclosed walls around him and tried to chisel a hole.

"Harry, you go stand in the bishop's position. Hermione, you'll be the castle next to the queen! And Amur, you'll be the artilleryman over there!"

Ron is arguably the best wizard chess player among the four. While Ayam can easily beat Harry, she wins by carefully considering each difficult move.

“As for me, I will be the knight.” Ron sat on a stone horse and began to command the movement of the chess pieces.

White moved a pawn first.

“Ron, you don’t really think we’re playing wizard chess, do you?” Hermione knew this wasn’t a simple wizard chess game.

Ron didn't say anything, but after a moment's thought, he decided to test the waters first, "You move D5!"

After the piece was moved to its designated location, it stopped and was then cut down by the opponent's white pieces.

“Yes, Hermione, it’s exactly the same as Wizarding Chess.”

"My God! We'll be dead if we get slashed!" Wu Mu thought of Ron, who would be injured as a result, and couldn't help but worry.

Ron…
