Harry Potter and the Virtue of Miss Potter

Chapter 30: Caught Red-Handed

Malfoy caught up with her after she had only been gone a short while.

“Miss Poe Porter! Could you please wait a moment?” Malfoy said, panting heavily.

"What's wrong, Mr. Malfoy?"

"I want to...I want to ask you, do you really know?"

"what do you know?"

“It’s…I…I…” Malfoy’s face flushed slightly, too embarrassed to say it.

"What are you talking about? Just say it, it's okay."

“I…have some feelings for you.” Malfoy’s face turned even redder, the blush spreading to his ears.

Because Malfoy's skin was fair and translucent, it was quite obvious that his face and neck were flushed pink.

"Hmm, and then?" Wu Mu's tone didn't sound very concerned.

“I also want to say that I…I shouldn’t have…insulted Ron…Can we be friends now?” Malfoy said with difficulty, extending his hand to Wolmer once again.

“Hmm…of course! I mean what I say!” Wu Mu grasped Malfoy’s hand.

"Looks like I'll have to change how I address you from now on! I can't call you Mr. Malfoy anymore! How about I call you Draco?"

"Of course, can I call you Wumu from now on?"

"Of course! Alright, I have to go now, to find Professor McGonagall, bye-bye!" Wu Mu released Malfoy's hand, waved and left.

Wu Mu: I never expected this! I never expected this! I thought Xiao Long was just interested in me and wanted to be friends, but now it seems... he likes me! This is so cool!

When they arrived at Professor McGonagall's office, Wu Mu stopped and gently knocked on the door. "Professor McGonagall, are you there? It's me, Wu Mu."

"Please come in."

Upon hearing the reply, Wu Mu opened the door. "Professor McGonagall, I have a question for you."

"Wu Mu, what's up?" McGonagall smiled when she saw Wu Mu arrive.

"Um... how do you perform the Silent Step technique? Could you tell me?"

"Of course, but you have to tell me why you want to learn it first." Professor McGonagall was a very competent professor.

"Spells are cool, aren't they? I want to learn more spells, not only to make myself more powerful, but also because more practice will always be beneficial to me." Wu Mu made up a reasonably plausible reason.

Logically speaking, if Wumu wanted to learn spells, she should ask the Charms professor. However, today is her first day at Hogwarts, and even though Wumu is a Harry Potter fan, she still can't navigate every corridor in Hogwarts smoothly.

Professor McGonagall naturally considered this point, and her quick agreement indicated that she was unaware of the true purpose of the spell "Wu Mu Xue"—to "catch up" during curfew in the castle.

“Okay, look at me, Mu.” Professor McGonagall thought for a moment.

She stood up and walked to a more open area.

“Sliencio, without a sound,” Professor McGonagall said, waving her wand.

As Professor McGonagall finished reciting the incantation, her movements were completely silent.

"Wow! That's so cool!" Wu Mu clapped his hands twice.

"This spell is very simple. Don't worry if you fail the first time. Try a few more times, and I believe you can do it," Professor McGonagall said kindly.

"Okay! Thank you, Professor McGonagall! I'll be going now!" Wu Mu instinctively hugged Professor McGonagall.

Professor McGonagall nodded, and Wu Mu left.

"This is so cool! Today is double the fun!" Wu Mu twirled the magic wand in his hand.

"Alright, now that you know, let's give it a try! Cough! Cough! Selene..." Just as Wu Mu was about to try, he was caught red-handed by Si Jiao who had arrived.

“I remember you told me that I shouldn’t cast spells randomly in the school corridors, Mu.” Si Jiao stopped in front of her.
