Where are they gathering?

"I've had my men drive them into the cave, not far outside the city. I'll mark it for you."

Chen Xi took the simple winter map and glanced at it. He understood the map, but he had a terrible sense of direction and got lost in the winding roads.

The pleading look fell on the "old man," who did not refuse. After saying goodbye to the [clown], the "old man" pulled Chen Xi along and successfully found the cave after an hour.

Cave entrance

Chen Xi switched to fire element and lit a torch, throwing one in to scout ahead. The cave was pitch black, but the Hilichurls resting on the stone beds were attracted by the light and gathered around the torch.

After his eyesight improved, Chen Xi saw the Hilichurls pick up the torch, relight the extinguished campfire on the ground, and dance joyfully around the fire.

Chen Xi took out his camera and took a picture, then returned to his system inventory and used his most handy West Wind Spear to physically exorcise them.

The spear tip pierced through the Hilichurl's body, making a "whoosh" sound. The first Hilichurl was put to rest. Chen Xi sensed that Hilichurls were approaching, so he swept his spear around again, and six Hilichurls fell to the ground. The sound of the wooden clubs and arrows hitting the ground woke up the other Hilichurls who were still sleeping. They waved their wooden clubs and charged at Chen Xi.

With two quick "xiu xiu" sounds, a series of Hilichurls were pierced through the heart, their hearts pierced by the West Wind Spear. Chen Xi shook off the purple blood on the spear tip, rested for a moment, piled the Hilichurls' corpses together, borrowed some kerosene from the system, poured it onto the surface of the corpses, and finally set them on fire.

While sympathizing with the experiences of the Hilichurls who were once citizens of Kanria, they would never show mercy to a monster that wanted to take their life.

They are no longer human beings, but merely empty shells. The souls trapped here should have been liberated long ago. Rather than letting them live in agony, it is better to send them away.

The souls of the Kanriar citizens, freed from their physical bodies, expressed their gratitude to Chen Xi, and then departed with the underworld messengers who had come to guide them. (Underworld messengers are a fictional character.)

"Shall we go back to report?"

Chen Xi confessed to him: "tы mhe hpaвnwьcr." (Russian, translated into Chinese: I like you.)

The scholar replied, "n r toжe." (Me too.)

The foolish soldiers guarding the gate pretended not to see anything.

The "scholar" looked at him with doting eyes, took him back, and tormented him for several hours. He said he wanted to see the specimen room, and the "scholar" agreed.

Specimen Room

This is part of [the doctor's] laboratory, and also the most terrifying place in it. The specimen room displays not just any things, but human limbs and internal organs.

As soon as Chen Xi entered, she smelled the aroma of stewed pork bones in an iron pot. It smelled quite delicious, and Chen Xi swallowed.

"Are they really that lenient? People are eating inside."

"hungry?"

"Ah."

"Let's go take a look." I hope you won't be scared.

The two continued inside. The lighting was dim, and on both sides were rows of human specimens in glass cases. The muscles of the human specimens were dry and rough, without any elasticity. The blood vessels and muscles were clearly visible, which was particularly frightening to see at night.

Author's rant

(The stupid school finally changed the timetable; you only need to be in the classroom at 6:30 AM.)

(But today they changed it to arrive before 6 o'clock again. I hate my homeroom teacher and the head of the grade. My sleep time! Do they want us to sleep on our desks during class? I hate it!)

(They even said it was an order from the province or the education bureau? I'm furious! They really don't treat students like human beings! 16 hours and 30 minutes a day! Even factories don't exploit their employees like this!)

Working 16 hours a day is illegal. The national work hour system stipulates that workers should not work more than 8 hours per day and 44 hours per week on average; employers must also ensure that workers have at least one day of rest per week. This is stipulated in the Labor Law of the People's Republic of China.

(But I don't understand why studying for 16 hours and 30 minutes a day at school isn't illegal. It's really tiring.)

(Currently, several students in our class are nominally on leave, but it's practically the same as dropping out. They feel that they can't understand anything at school and are wasting their time, so they might as well go work in a factory.)

(Most people come to this school just for the diploma. It's worse than a regular high school—the teachers are bad, and the learning environment is terrible. We can't compare to them at all, but this stupid school insists on trying to compete, as if they want to burn our lives.)
