I thrived in the primitive tribe

Chapter 82 Intensifying Conflicts

Since we discussed things a bit late last night, and everyone has been working very hard these past few days, we decided not to set up our stall this morning.

So when they woke up, the sun was already high in the sky. "What a comfortable sleep!"

Lu Yao stretched and walked out, looking up at the sky. "It should be almost noon now. I didn't expect to get up so late today."

Just as she was about to go back and wake everyone up, several people walked towards her. Because they were a bit far away, she couldn't see them clearly and assumed they were a patrol team, so she didn't pay any attention.

Just as she turned to enter her temporary lodgings, she heard someone calling her name.

[Who's calling me?] Since she had nothing else to do, Lu Yao stood outside and waited for the people to approach.

They were quite surprised when they saw who it was. "Why are you back from outside? Didn't you say you wouldn't be setting up your stall this morning so you could sleep in? Why are you up so early?"

"I just wanted to go out and check on last night's work as soon as possible~"

Hearing this, Lu Yao immediately perked up, "So? What were the results of your land survey?"

"That was absolutely amazing! Didn't you see we weren't setting up our stall today? So many people went to his place!"

There were so many people there, and then someone discovered that they had found their lost items over there.

At first, they might have thought that others were trading the same goods with them, but later they gradually discovered that some of the unique items were also in this situation.

Then they realized something was wrong, and some of the hot-tempered people went to confront them, and guess what happened?

Lu Yao was listening with great interest when the person stopped talking and instead asked her to guess, which annoyed Lu Yao, who was eager to know what would happen next.

"Don't guess, just tell us what happened next."

Seeing Lu Yao's anxious expression, the man continued speaking.

"The people at the stall claim it's theirs, but we need them to provide evidence to prove it's theirs."

At this point, everyone could only accept their bad luck, but guess what... you don't need to guess.

However, there are indeed cases where it can be proven that the item was lost by the person who traded it back to distinguish it from their companions.

Marking some of the traded items was like stirring up a hornet's nest.

Everyone flocked to these people to argue and demand an explanation.

At this moment, even more hilariously, someone who had been watching the show and eating barbecue nearby suddenly felt unwell.

Some people suspected there was something wrong with their meat and started making a fuss. Now things are really messed up.

The area in front of the stalls was bustling with activity; you couldn't have imagined the spectacular sight!

They were still making a ruckus over there before we left, hahaha!

After hearing their descriptions, Lu Yao could vividly imagine the exciting scene.

Seeing the bright smiles on their faces swept away the gloom that had hung over my heart yesterday.

At this moment, Loya also returned from outside, looking at the group of people standing together and laughing happily, feeling somewhat puzzled.

"What's wrong with you all? What's making you so happy?"

"You don't know? Then where did you go just now?" Jiu Li asked in surprise.

"I went for a walk in the woods outside to see if there was anything good."

"So what did you find?" Lu Yao asked curiously, looking at the animal skin bag in Luo Ya's hand.

"I only found a few fruits, and I tasted them. They were alright, so I brought them back," Loya said, opening the animal skin bag to show the others.

Lu Yao hurriedly leaned over to see what it was.

"Isn't this that incredibly sour sour fruit? Why did you bring it back?" a tribesman asked in surprise upon seeing it.

"I think this would taste good if we put it on our barbecue or in our broth."

“Yes, you can try it,” Lu Yao nodded. “Have you found any honey? It’s delicious on grilled meat.”

Seeing Lu Yao's greedy expression, Luo Ya shook his head, though he didn't want to discourage her.

“Nothing was found,” Luo Ya said, looking at Lu Yao’s dejected face. “You haven’t told me what you were talking about yet.”

"We were just talking about how they went to see a great show today..." Lu Yao told Luo Ya what Jiu Li and the others had just said, laughing as she spoke.

"Let them be so arrogant before, now someone will teach them a lesson."

Seeing that there was nothing for them to do, the others started packing up the things they would need for setting up their stall in the afternoon, preparing to go set up their stall after Loya and the others finished talking.

After Lu Yao finished speaking, she looked around and saw that there was no one there. She then lowered her voice and asked Luo Ya.

"I hope there's nothing wrong with what you put in his meat last night? Will it cause any accidents?"

"It's nothing, it's just the juice of a fruit. Some people feel unwell after eating it, like having a stomachache or developing a rash. It will be fine after a while, there's nothing to worry about."

"It sounds like an allergic reaction. It's good that you're alright, as long as it doesn't get out of control." Lu Yao patted her chest and breathed a sigh of relief.

"Don't worry, I know what I'm doing," Loya reassured her.

"Are you guys done yet? Let's go set up our stall. It's already so late, if we don't go now, we might not have to go today at all."

Upon hearing this, the two looked at the sky and realized it was getting late. They decided to leave now and eat some flatbread or something to tide them over if they got hungry.

Luo Ya handed the animal skin bag to Lu Yao, gesturing for her to put it away, and then helped her carry the things needed for setting up the stall.

When Lu Yao and her group arrived at the stall, there were already people there.

Loya had no choice but to find another spot. Looking at the stalls surrounded in the distance, the group felt a surge of satisfaction.

Because they came out late today and many people went to watch the excitement, their trading volume was not very high, but they were still in a very good mood.

Just as the group was packing up and heading back, the patrol team leader finished dealing with the matter there.

Lu Yao had been keeping an eye on the situation at the competing stalls and noticed immediately that they were about to leave. Remembering that she had invited the captain and the others to have barbecue, she nudged Luo Ya, who was busy at work, with her elbow, signaling him to look over there.

“I think they’re about to finish over there. Didn’t we invite the captain to have barbecue? We happen to have a lot of seasoning left over today, and we also have some fresh meat from our exchange. Why not take advantage of this opportunity and invite them over for a meal today?”

Upon hearing Lu Yao's words, the others who were busy with their work also stopped what they were doing and looked over there, thinking that this was a feasible idea.

"Then I'll do as you say. I'll invite them when they come over. It shouldn't be a problem as long as it doesn't interfere with work. I just don't know if they have anything else to do."

"Okay, let's ask first. If there's nothing else, then we won't bother packing yet," Lu Yao said to the others.

They found a clean spot to sit and rest while grilling some fresh meat, thinking that if the patrol team didn't eat it, they could eat it themselves and avoid wasting any.

As the captain and his patrol walked past them, Loya extended an invitation.

The captain figured it was time to hand over the shift anyway, and he'd heard how delicious Loya's barbecue was, but he'd never had a chance to try it.

This is a good opportunity to try it out and see if it's really as delicious as the rumors say. So we sent some people from our team to hand over the food to them, while the rest of us stayed here to enjoy the meal.
