I thrived in the primitive tribe

Chapter 7: The Crowd Conquered by the Delicious Food

Looking at all the food that everyone brought from home, Lu Yao didn't know where to start.

She rummaged through the pile of things; there were wild vegetables, fruits, and what appeared to be some root vegetables.

As Lu Yao flipped through the pages, she pondered how to handle the situation, but as she continued, a troubled expression appeared on her face.

"There are so many plants here that I've never seen before. What am I going to do? They're definitely edible, otherwise they wouldn't have been sent here. But as for the taste, who knows?" Lu Yao thought to herself.

Loya, who was watching from the sidelines, offered a way out.

"What you're holding is called Jingjing Fruit, and it tastes sweet and sour."

The one next to it is a fruit called "gaga guo". It doesn't taste very good, but it's good for filling your stomach. However, it's a bit dry. Unless you're really hungry and have nothing else to eat, you generally won't eat it. I don't know who brought this one with them.

This is cattail shoot, and it tastes a bit astringent.

This is sweet lettuce, it's sweet.

……

……

......"

Listening to Luo Ya's explanation, Lu Yao gained a better understanding of the plants in her hands. She divided them into several groups: one group of sweet and sour plants, which she could try adding to meat dishes later to see if they were suitable as a substitute for sugar; and another group of tasteless plants, which she would divide into two piles to avoid making the dishes taste too bad.

She turned her head and saw that the meat of the Humming Beast over there had not yet been cut up. Because they had come to watch how Lu Yao refined oil, the manual work had been delayed for a while, which was a good thing for Lu Yao.

She walked towards the person who was cutting meat.

"Cero, could you get me a few pieces of meat?"

After he agreed, Lu Yao pointed out several parts to him and asked him to help cut them off.

Back by the stone pot, Lu Yao looked at the oil in the pot and was puzzled. She didn't know what to do with the oil. There was nothing else to put it in. If she put it in the stone pot, what would she use to cook it?

Everything here is made of natural materials, and mostly of stone. Making things on-site isn't practical, so what can we do?

Just as she was wondering what to do, someone squeezed in from the back of the crowd, carrying a large bamboo tube in his arms.

“I think you should need this,” the person said.

Seeing this unexpected surprise, Lu Yao happily thanked them and accepted it.

After transferring the oil from the stone pot to the bamboo tube, Lu Yao began to cook.

She demonstrated as she went, explaining things to everyone.

"Add oil to the pan, and once the oil is hot, add the chopped meat. Stir-fry the meat until it's cooked through, then add a little salt, and then some juice from the crystal fruit..."

As Lu Yao stirred the stir-fried meat, a sweet aroma wafted out. Everyone's eyes lit up as they looked at the meat in the stone pot, exclaiming, "It smells so good!"

After demonstrating how to cook several dishes, Lu Yao handed over the cooking area to the people in the tribe so they could try it themselves. Then she walked over to the ingredients and took out the "gaga fruit" she had mentioned earlier.

She peeled off the skin of the fruit, took a bite of the flesh, and her eyes widened in surprise.

"It seems to be just as I thought. This tasteless and slightly dry fruit has a flesh that tastes like flour."

Lu Yao excitedly took out all the gaga fruits inside, but after searching for a long time, she couldn't find anything suitable to use as a pot.

"We need to find a way to make some jars and bowls, otherwise we'll be too restricted."

She went to the person who had given her the large bamboo tube before and asked him.

"Hello, thank you so much just now. Where did you get that big bamboo tube?"

"Greetings, divine messenger. Do you want more? I have some more; I'll go get them for you."

As he spoke, the man turned and ran home, bringing back several bamboo tubes—actually, they shouldn't be called bamboo tubes anymore, they were so big they should be called bamboo basins.

Looking at these bamboo basins, Lu Yao felt she couldn't accept someone else's things empty-handed, and said...

"I want to make pancakes. Would you like to learn how to make them with me?"

“Yes, God made me willing. My name is Guli, you can just call me Guli,” the man said excitedly.

Afterwards, Lu Yao and Gu Li processed all the pulp of the Gaga fruit into a bamboo basin. Then, Lu Yao instructed Gu Li to add water little by little while she started kneading the Gaga powder. After the Gaga powder was kneaded together, the two of them moved the bamboo basin to another stone pot.

For some reason, an extra stone slab appeared next to this stone pot during its production.

Lu Yao had always thought the two were connected, but after taking a closer look, she realized that the stone slab was just placed here to make it convenient to store bamboo tubes or something.

After negotiating with the chief, she asked someone to help move the stone slab to the side, put firewood underneath, put oil on the stone slab, and then spread the gaga powder into a cake by hand and put it on the already heated stone slab.

Just as Lu Yao and Gu Li were processing the Gaga fruit, people noticed their movements and gathered around. Smelling the fragrance emanating from the Gaga powder, everyone kept pressing forward, wanting to know how Lu Yao was doing it.

"Lu Yao is really amazing..."

"Is this what the flesh of the fruit smells like?"

What is that white cake?

Everyone was talking about it.

The pancakes spread on the stone slab cooked quickly, and as they turned into golden-yellow pancakes, Lu Yao took a deep breath.

"It's delicious!"

She scooped out the first piece of bread, broke off a piece, and tasted it.

“It’s delicious, so we had someone send it to the chief and the high priest to try.”

Then start making the second pie.

"Even though I didn't add anything, it tastes really good! The texture of the gaga powder is very similar to flour, and it has a unique fragrance. I've found a treasure! It's so delicious." Lu Yao thought to herself, her hands brimming with energy.

She took out the second piece of cake and gave some to Guli, while the rest was snatched up and shared by the people around them.

"Guli, have you learned it? Want to try it out?"

"Divine messenger, I think I've learned it, but I don't know if I can do it well."

Encouraged by Lu Yao, Gu Li began to try making Gaga powder compacts himself. From being unfamiliar at first, he gradually became proficient and got the hang of it very quickly.

The team cooking the stir-fries has almost finished preparing the ingredients, and the rice noodles here are also all done.

Everyone gathered around the stone pots and started eating. The bamboo chopsticks in their hands were almost blurry as they moved. The food in the pots quickly dwindled, and the stir-fried dishes placed around the stone pots were also quickly emptied.

After finishing all the food, everyone expressed their satisfaction, and joy was evident on their faces.
