I thrived in the primitive tribe

The tribespeople who had gone out returned happily, carrying heavy wicker baskets filled with fish and shrimp. The afterglow of the setting sun shone on their faces, reflecting their joy.

Loya took the wicker basket from the returning tribesman and placed it next to Lu Yao. Lu Yao curiously peered into the basket and saw fish and shrimp thrashing about, full of life. It tasted quite good. Then she poured it into an earthenware bowl, intending to let it cool down before sending it to the mother wolf.

The others processed the still-throwing river fish, putting one into a clay pot to make fish soup. Then they found evenly sized branches, skillfully skewered the fish, and handed it to their companions who were grilling meat nearby. They then continued processing the remaining ingredients.

As the meat and fish slowly turned over the fire, golden oil dripped continuously into the flames, sparking tiny flames and releasing an even richer aroma. The person grilling the food occasionally sprinkled salt evenly over the sizzling food.

The aroma grew increasingly strong, attracting the attention of several wolves who were tearing at their prey in the distance. They simultaneously stopped biting and raised their heads to look at the source of the fragrance. They sniffed the air, savoring the scent.

The alpha wolf was also attracted by the strong aroma. It stopped lying next to its mate and looked up in this direction. The two wolf cubs beside it were also drawn in and howled. However, they did not run towards the wolf because of their father. But their howling seemed to be urging their father to find the source of the aroma for them. They were hungry.

Lu Yao noticed the commotion and touched the meat broth that had been left to cool, then took some roasted deer meat.

“Your partner hasn’t woken up yet and can’t eat the prey you’ve caught, but it also needs nutrition. I’ve stewed the antler meat until it’s tender, so you can feed it to it.”
