I think my luck is turning around.

An Ge watched as the door opened a crack and then closed again, realizing this was a cautious person. The person inside pondered whether to open the door for them, wondering if this was a mountain monster or a wandering ghost.

This thought immediately made him stop thinking about it. He was just resting here for one night, how could he have encountered such a thing? Seeing that there was no movement inside, An Ge knocked on the door again and said, "I accidentally ended up here, please open the door and let me in to rest for the night."

An Ge's words didn't make the person inside open the door. An Ge felt a little helpless, but there was nothing she could do. She sat down under the eaves, feeling somewhat resigned. Of course, she was afraid here. Even if wild animals roamed, the people inside would know, and she wouldn't feel so helpless!

But the next second, An Ge began to reject the idea. How could she entrust her safety to someone else? It was ridiculous, but what could she do? The people inside were indifferent! Just then, the door opened.

An Ge turned to look at the open door. The hem of the robe was dark green. An Ge looked up and noticed the person's jawline was truly impressive. The person, seeing that An Ge wasn't sitting beside them, seemed puzzled. Had they really encountered a ghost?

"Sir, may I come in?"

An Ge's voice rang out. The man, hearing the source of the voice and seeing An Ge sitting there, was caught off guard and startled for a moment, but thankfully, he let her in, despite his unease. If she was truly human, he had saved a life!

"Please come in, young lady."

The man avoided eye contact, not daring to look at An Ge even once, adhering to the principle of "avoiding improper gazes." However, An Ge didn't share this sentiment, nor did she feel there was anything inappropriate about her attire. It was a hot summer day, and An Ge had dressed relatively lightly—shorts and a short-sleeved T-shirt—but the night was quite chilly.

An Ge sat there hugging her knees, quite happy to be invited in. She immediately stood up to go in. But the person turned away, avoiding her gaze. An Ge didn't mind, simply went inside and squatted down beside him.

The man calmed down a bit before coming to his senses. Looking at the pitch-black surroundings, he glanced back at An Ge, who was crouching beside the fire, and quickly closed the door. An Ge sat there leisurely, watching the flames, her peripheral vision fixed on the man, observing his every move.

The man walked to the other side, where his bundle lay. An Ge was no longer cold, but she still dared not leave her spot.

Both of them were wary of each other; one can never be too careful! But, not wanting to make the atmosphere too awkward, An Ge spoke first.

"Young master, what is your name?"

An Ge was still careful about how she addressed others. The person looked up at An Ge with some surprise and stammered out his name, "Lin Jingqing".

Hearing the name, An Ge thought it was pretty good and didn't have too many thoughts about it. "My name is An Ge."

"What are you doing here, Miss An?"

Lin Jingqing still asked the question, originally thinking that it would be a silent night like before! An Ge answered the question in a calm tone.

"I fell into the water, and then I appeared in this world, and then I ended up here..."

As she spoke, An Ge couldn't quite remember how she came to be in this world. She always felt that something was missing, but she just couldn't remember what it was.
