I think my luck is turning around.

Since both of them could only move on foot, they were naturally slower. Upon arriving at the village, it was still brightly lit. Fortunately, Shi San had prepared enough weapons to wipe out the entire village. Shi San felt much more at ease, while An Ge followed closely behind him, absolutely trusting that Shi San would protect her.

There were many people on the main street of the village, and there were vendors on both sides of the street selling small trinkets that looked quite exquisite.

"Would you like one, young lady?"

The vendor inquired, and An Ge looked at the little gadget with curiosity, but more importantly, she was amazed. Had the craftsmanship become so exquisite? The life-sized animals were incredibly realistic.

An Ge glanced at Shi San standing beside her. Shi San rubbed her thumb against her index and middle fingers a few times before opening her entire palm. An Ge understood; they were penniless. An Ge looked at Shi San with some disbelief.

Neither of them carried any money, because they hadn't spent much since arriving in this world. When they were with Ji Xia, Ji Xia always paid; neither of them had ever imagined they would be broke.

An Ge looked at Shi San with some disappointment. They had no money now, so where would the two of them stay for the night?

Not a single cent?

"I've never carried any money with me; Ji Xia always paid the bills before. You didn't bring any either, did you?"

“I always have Li Yuesheng or Lin Jingqing pay for it.”

Both of them sighed helplessly. Shi San looked at An Ge and had an idea.

“Your stamina seems pretty good. How about we walk for another night? We can definitely reach Yanglin City tonight.”

Shi San was a bit crazy; the two of them ate nothing but wild fruit and drank raw water all day. To be honest, it wasn't that An Ge couldn't handle it, but the amount of exercise was just too much!

"Let's perform for money!"

An Ge blurted out this without thinking, leaving Shi San completely bewildered.

"What? Performing for money? What can you do?"

These successive questions did indeed stump An Ge; what could she possibly know?

"I can't do anything, I can't sing or dance, and even my job is terrible. I'm just awful..."

I don't know what point we got into, but An Ge became frustrated, though not to the point of crying. It was just an emotional breakdown. Looking at Shi San in front of her, An Ge made a firm choice.

"Let's go! Let's set off now! We must reach Yanglin City before dawn! Maybe we can even catch up with Ji Xia and the others!"

Shi San also couldn't understand An Ge's actions at all. Her sudden idea was completely different from Ji Xia's. She just had a random idea, but wasn't it too reckless?

With that, Shi San and An Ge set off again, walking along the mountain path. Shi San once again slipped a gun into An Ge's hand, one that was relatively easy to handle. The two of them walked towards the moonlight, and the journey was calm and uneventful, as if nothing would happen.

"Isn't this quiet road a bit eerie?"

An Ge's opening of her mouth told Shi San that An Ge had also noticed; the silence was unbearable. Shi San held a gun in one hand and gripped An Ge's hand with the other, maintaining a constant state of combat readiness, unable to allow any mishap. Shi San only heard faint breathing sounds; both of them stopped, and Shi San pointed his gun at the source of the breathing.

"Who? Come out."

Everything was so quiet that even the slightest movement would be very noticeable. Shi San raised his gun, and with just one shot, the silence was shattered.

The breathing on the other side had stopped, replaced only by the sound of someone collapsing to the ground. Both of them were now highly focused. Shi San held the gun with one hand without any burden, while An Ge needed both hands.

"Whether you're a human or a ghost, come out and take a look! If you don't come out now, you'll be next!"
