I think my luck is turning around.

Chapter 2 Entering and Exiting the Water

An Ge ran very fast, which attracted the attention of people around her. Looking in the direction An Ge was rushing, they also noticed the little boy struggling in the water.

An Ge reacted quickly, jumping into the water and grabbing the little boy. However, the boy's movements were too strong, and he was already quite far from the shore. An Ge held onto the child, who was still struggling, and An Ge herself was in a precarious situation.

At this moment, some people who knew how to swim swam over and pulled the two of them to the shore. An Ge handed the little boy over first, and then swam forward herself.

But then something strange appeared in front of me, my legs became heavy, and my body started to sink. What was happening? I had the strength to swim to shore, so why was I sinking into the water?

An Ge made no struggle and was dragged into the water without moving. The people on the shore, seeing the still river surface behind them and the absence of one person, began to panic.

"Where did that person go? Could they have drowned?!"

One person's cry of alarm alerted everyone. Indeed, someone was the first to rush into the water to save the person, but that person had disappeared.

"Yes! I think I just saw that person sink into the water!"

"Quickly, get them out!"

Amidst the gasps of surprise from the shore, An Ge showed no signs of life. Water had entered her body, filled her lungs, and taken over her respiratory system. The feeling of suffocation was excruciating, and she did not struggle.

Everything before her was blurry, except for that strange thing that stood clearly in front of An Ge, perfectly visible. An Ge's consciousness grew increasingly hazy; she seemed to have resigned herself to her fate. Perhaps dying like this would even generate some positive publicity!

An Ge's last thought was simply this: such an act would give her a good reputation in the world, which wasn't bad. Strange thoughts swirled in the air, but the people above were frantically searching, and An Ge's body was pulled from the water.

A bloodless face, and a mother who had fainted from crying beside her—this was her own child, who had died so unexpectedly on what should have been a joyous day. An Ge's consciousness had vanished, leaving only a corpse in this world.

Unconscious, An Ge's vision was fixed on the strange object, which she stared at intently, her attention completely absorbed. Suddenly, An Ge's consciousness gained self-awareness, and the sensations around her became increasingly vivid—the feeling of being surrounded by water.

An Ge struggled to the surface. Standing in the water, which was only a centimeter above her knees, there was little chance of drowning. But where was she? An Ge looked around in confusion. The trees were lush; this wasn't the river she had just been in! There should have been a road nearby! How could this be a dense forest?

An Ge emerged from the water, soaking wet. Fortunately, it was the middle of summer, and An Ge was wearing dark-colored pants and a shirt, so the fabric wasn't too see-through. An Ge walked ashore and looked around in confusion. There was no sign of modern life, no sign of human presence, and no litter; a pristine, untouched atmosphere enveloped her.

An Ge's personality isn't that girlish, but she always has long hair. Her simple ponytail is wet and hangs down, with stray hairs sticking to her face.
