I think my luck is turning around.

Ji Ran followed An Ge to the kitchen, where the people had already started working. An Ge led Ji Ran to a corner where there was a small table and a few wooden stools.

An Ge went straight there and sat down there with practiced ease, as if she had been there many times before.

Actually, this was her second time here; she had sat here the first time when she sneaked a bite in the kitchen late at night. No one paid any attention to the two of them; they just sat there quietly.

Ji Ran couldn't hold back any longer and asked first.

What are we doing here? Waiting for dinner?

An Ge shook her head and stood up to eat a carrot.

An Ge sat back down and whispered in Ji Ran's ear, "Did you feel anything was off when you were alone in your room today?"

Ji Ran shook her head. An Ge took another bite and chewed. Perhaps that person appeared with her.

"Why are you here?"

The sound of raindrops appeared. An Ge looked at her, but didn't say anything. She just continued to gnaw on the carrot in her hand.

An Ge wondered if asking Zhan Yu would provide an answer. But An Ge immediately dismissed the idea, thinking that it might be too hasty to reveal the answer now and risk alerting Zhan Yu.

"I'm waiting for dinner to be served!"

"You idiot, you don't get up in the morning, you deserve to go hungry."

As she spoke, Zhan Yu sat down next to An Ge, and then someone came over and carefully poured a bowl of water. Zhan Yu told him to leave, and then placed the bowl of water in the center of the table.
