Phoenix Dance: The Eldest Daughter's Physician Consort Shocks the World
Chapter 1 The Beginning of the Transmigration
Su Yao felt a sharp pain in her head, as if a thousand needles were pricking it. Then the world spun around her, and countless unfamiliar images flooded her mind like a tide. Before she could sort out this sudden situation, she heard a sharp shout: "Young Miss, what are you dawdling for? The Old Madam is waiting for you to pay your respects! If you are late, can you bear the blame?"
Su Yao suddenly opened her eyes, and what came into view was an antique carved bed curtain and a maidservant beside the bed, dressed in a simple cloth shirt, but with an extremely unfriendly look in her eyes. She subconsciously rubbed her temples, thinking to herself, "What's going on? Wasn't I in the laboratory? How did I end up here?" Before she could figure it out, the maidservant impatiently urged, "Miss, please hurry up, don't make things difficult for us servants."
Despite her discomfort, Su Yao got out of bed and looked around. The room's furnishings, though exquisite, exuded an air of antiquity, with some obviously damaged and carelessly repaired items in the corners. Looking at her slightly haggard yet determined face in the bronze mirror, she realized she had transmigrated.
"What's your name?" Su Yao asked, her voice carrying a hint of coldness.
The maid was slightly taken aback, seemingly not expecting Su Yao to ask such a question. She then curled her lip and replied disdainfully, "Miss, are you still half asleep? My name is Cui'er. You've been ordering me around quite a bit these days."
Su Yao sneered inwardly. From Cui'er's attitude, she could tell that the original owner's days in this mansion were probably not easy. Without saying anything more, she followed Cui'er toward her grandmother's courtyard.
Along the way, Cui'er deliberately walked very fast, while Su Yao, wearing an elaborate skirt, found it difficult to move and nearly fell several times. As they passed a garden, a woman in gorgeous clothes walked towards them, followed by a large group of maids and servants, making quite a grand and imposing entrance.
"Oh, isn't this your sister? Why are you in such a sorry state?" The woman covered her mouth and chuckled, her eyes full of mockery.
Su Yao looked up and saw that the woman had a beautiful face, but her eyes revealed a sharp and mean look. She searched her memory and realized that this was the original owner's second younger sister, Su Wan.
"Second sister is well," Su Yao said calmly, not wanting to get entangled with her any further.
"What's wrong, sister? Are you still angry about what happened yesterday? Hmph, don't you know your place? You actually dare to think about getting close to His Highness the Crown Prince. You're really overestimating yourself." Su Wan sneered, her words becoming increasingly sarcastic.
Su Yao's heart skipped a beat; it seemed the original owner had gone through quite a few unpleasant experiences. She frowned slightly and said, "Second sister, be careful with your words. Don't forget your place."
"You!" Su Wan was furious at Su Yao's response. "Sister, you've really gotten sharp-tongued. I wonder who made a fool of themselves in front of His Highness the Crown Prince yesterday. They really disgraced our General's Mansion."
Su Yao was too lazy to argue with her, so she walked past her and continued walking. Seeing this, Su Wan became even angrier and gave a wink to the maid beside her. The maid understood and stretched out her foot to trip Su Yao.
Su Yao was prepared and dodged lightly, causing the maid to fall flat on her face.
"Hmph, you can't even walk steadily, yet you dare to be so presumptuous in front of me." Su Yao coldly uttered these words before quickly leaving with Cui'er.
Su Wan stomped her feet angrily behind him and shouted, "Su Yao, you just wait!"
When Su Yao arrived at her grandmother's courtyard, it was already full of people. Her grandmother sat in the main seat, looking dignified, while the second wife and several half-sisters sat beside her with smiling faces.
"Greetings to Grandmother." Su Yao bowed respectfully.
Her grandmother glanced at her indifferently and said, "Get up. Why are you so late today?"
Before Su Yao could speak, Su Wan interjected, "Grandmother, you don't know, my sister deliberately made things difficult for me on the way and even pushed my maid, which is why we were delayed."
Su Yao raised her head slightly, looked at her grandmother, and said calmly, "Grandmother, you are wise. I did not make things difficult for my second sister. It was my second sister who spoke ill of me on the way and even tried to have the maid trip me. I was just protecting myself."
Grandmother's eyes swept back and forth between the two of them, and she made her own judgment. She coughed lightly and said, "Alright, stop arguing. Yao'er, you're not a child anymore, you should rein in your temper and stop being so reckless."
"Yes, Grandmother," Su Yao replied obediently.
At this moment, the second madam said with a smile, "Madam, please don't blame Yao'er too much. After all, she is still young and inevitably a little immature. However, seeing that His Highness the Crown Prince and Wan'er's marriage is about to be settled, Yao'er, as the older sister, should also think about her younger sister and it would be better for her to have less contact with His Highness the Crown Prince in the future."
Su Yao sneered inwardly. This second madam was really eager to marry her daughter into the Crown Prince's residence, and she was actually trying to trip her up at this time. She curtsied slightly and said, "Second Madam, rest assured, your granddaughter understands her status and would not do such a shameless thing."
Grandmother nodded slightly and said, "That's good. Alright, everyone go down now, I'm tired too."
After everyone took their leave, Su Yao walked alone back to the courtyard, her mind filled with a myriad of thoughts. She knew she was now in a strange world, and to survive, she had to adapt to the environment as quickly as possible, while also finding a way to change her current predicament.
"Miss, please don't take it too hard. The Second Madam and the Second Miss just can't stand to see you doing well," Cui'er whispered from the side.
Su Yao glanced at her and asked, "Cui'er, why are you suddenly so concerned about me today?"
Cui'er lowered her head slightly and said, "Miss, I was ignorant before and was bribed by the Second Miss, so I did many things that I was sorry for. But from today onwards, I will serve you wholeheartedly and make up for my past mistakes."
Su Yao's heart stirred; it seemed that Cui'er still had some conscience. She nodded slightly and said, "In that case, let's see how you perform in the future."
Back in the courtyard, Su Yao asked Cui'er to prepare hot water. She wanted to wash up properly and clear her mind. Sitting in the bathtub, Su Yao closed her eyes, recalling the memories of the original owner of this body. The original owner was timid and often bullied by the second wife and her half-sisters in the mansion. Her mother had died early, and her father was often away fighting, leaving her with no one to support her. As for the engagement with the Crown Prince, it was merely a joke by the Emperor; no formal decree had been issued. However, the original owner was deeply in love with the Crown Prince, which aroused jealousy and led her into her current predicament.
"From now on, I am Su Yao, and I will never let anyone bully me again," Su Yao vowed silently.
After washing up, Su Yao changed into clean clothes, sat by the window, and began to think about her future. With the medical skills she learned in her previous life, she might be able to make a name for herself in this world, but before that, she had to first gain a foothold in the General's Mansion, find those who wanted to harm her, and retaliate against them one by one.
Just as she was lost in thought, she suddenly heard a commotion outside.
"Young Miss, something terrible has happened! The Second Young Miss has brought people to smash up the courtyard!" Cui'er ran in in a panic, shouting.
Su Yao's eyes turned cold, and she stood up and said, "Let's go, let's go out and take a look."
Su Wan stood in the courtyard with a group of maids and servants, holding sticks and looking menacing.
"Su Yao, how dare you embarrass me in front of my grandmother! Today I'm going to teach you a lesson!" Su Wan said fiercely.
Su Yao sneered and said, "Second sister, if you dare to cause trouble in this courtyard, aren't you afraid of Grandmother's wrath?"
"Hmph, Grandmother loves me the most, how could she blame me? Don't try to use Grandmother to pressure me," Su Wan said dismissively.
"Since that's the case, then don't blame me for being impolite." A sharp glint flashed in Su Yao's eyes. She looked around and saw a wooden stick in the yard, so she picked it up and got into a fighting stance.
Seeing this, Su Wan felt a slight panic, but not wanting to lose face in front of everyone, she gritted her teeth and shouted, "Go! Beat them hard!"
The maids and servants swarmed forward, but Su Yao was fearless. She had learned some self-defense techniques in her previous life, which came in handy now. She was agile and wielded the wooden stick with great force, quickly defeating the maids and servants.
Seeing that things were not going well, Su Wan tried to escape, but Su Yao grabbed her.
"Second sister, are you already thinking of leaving?" Su Yao said coldly.
"What...what do you want to do?" Su Wan looked at Su Yao in horror.
"I just want my second sister to know that I, Su Yao, am not so easy to bully. If this gets back to Grandmother, how do you think she will deal with you?" Su Yao applied a little force, and Su Wan cried out in pain.
"Sister, please spare me! I was wrong, I'll never do it again," Su Wan begged.
Su Yao released her grip and said, "Get lost. If there's a next time, I definitely won't let you off easily."
Su Wan and her entourage left in a disheveled state, leaving the courtyard in a mess. Looking at the mess, Su Yao felt a surge of fighting spirit. She knew this was just the beginning, and the road ahead was long, but she was confident she could live a brilliant life of her own in this world.
