The Bully General's Spiritual Husband

Chapter 7 Painless Motherhood

Yin Baicai spoke bluntly: "Who are you? Why are you glaring at me? Are your eyes bigger than mine?"

Yin Baicai glared back defiantly: "One of my eyes is as good as two of yours."

It must be said that the original owner's eyes were bright and expressive, and quite large on that thin little face.

Liu Xiaoqing was furious. When did this troublemaker become so bold as to dare to glare back?

With a "smack," he slammed down the wooden basin in his hand: "You little devil, how dare you glare at me? You're asking for it!"

"Who are you referring to as a jinx?"

"You're a jinx."

Yin Baicai burst into laughter: "Yes, that's what they mean by 'jinx' (a person who brings bad luck to others)."

Hearing his mockery, Liu Xiaoqing realized that he had set a trap for her.

"When did you start talking back, you little devil? You used to be so quiet you wouldn't utter a word, and you'd hide from everyone you saw. Now you've really gotten bolder."

Yin Baicai said to him, "Hehehe... shorty."

Liu Xiaoqing got even angrier when he heard him call her a shorty. She was already sixteen, but she was still shorter than many other boys.

That's why, even though he's of marriageable age, many people look down on him.

Pointing at Yin Baicai's nose, he yelled, "Say that again, or I'll tear your mouth apart!"

Yin Baicai wasn't afraid of him at all. He didn't know this young man at all, yet he had come to cause trouble for him time and time again. The original owner of this body, that little fool, could tolerate it, but he couldn't.

The people in this village are very superstitious. It's because the original owner's birth caused his mother to have a difficult childbirth, taking a whole day and night to give birth to him.

As a result, he developed a chronic illness, but his father and mother still treated him very well.

He spent a lot of money to treat his mother's illness. His father fell off a cliff and died while hunting in the mountains. Later, his mother also passed away from illness.

The villagers all said he was the one who caused their deaths, and many people secretly called him a jinx behind their backs.

The constant rumors and gossip made the original owner increasingly quiet and shy, living like a nobody in the village.

But he was a master at work, no less capable than any man.

He knew what was going on. The original owner had always blamed himself for causing his mother's illness because of his birth, so he took the initiative to do the dirty and tiring work.

His hands, though only in his teens, were as rough and calloused as those of men in their seventies and eighties.

The villagers only knew that Yin Baicai was hardworking and efficient, but they didn't know how helpless the little person was when he secretly cried out in pain under the covers late at night.

So when he transmigrated, he tried to do as little work as possible. It was fine when he was young, but if he waited until he was a little older, he would definitely be covered in injuries and illnesses.

Yin Baicai was too lazy to pay attention to this guy. Seeing that the clothes in the basin were almost soaked, she quickly washed them.

Seeing that Yin Baicai no longer dared to call out to him, Liu Xiaoqing thought he was afraid of her and snorted, "Coward."

Then he took his basin and ran far away to wash his clothes, as if Yin Baicai were some kind of dirty thing.

Yin Baicai quickly finished washing the clothes and rinsed them clean in the river.

Squeeze out the water, put it in a basin, and get ready to take it home.

Liu Xiaoqing glanced at Yin Baicai, wondering what was so good about this jinx that she had such good luck in catching Li Zhe's eye.

Although Li Zhe was a notorious bully in Peach Blossom Village, his family was incredibly wealthy.

As soon as he returned, he built a large brick and tile house and could go hunting in the mountains, which would earn him a lot of money.

She had long admired him and thought she was willing to marry him. If he came to propose, she would agree.

Unexpectedly, this bully Li didn't even glance at him, and instead asked Matchmaker Li to propose marriage for this jinx.

I heard they even gave them five taels of silver, which is unique in Peach Blossom Village.

The villagers could only afford three taels of silver at most, but this local bully Li gave five taels right off the bat.

If it weren't for Yin Baicai, that jinx, that five taels of silver betrothal gift would have been mine, Liu Xiaoqing's, instead of his.

He got angrier the more he thought about it, which is why he would cause trouble for Yin Baicai from time to time.

As soon as she got home, Yin Baicai threw her clean clothes onto the clothesline to hang them up.

He went to the kitchen, lit the fire, and cooked a bowl of porridge.

I also made a plate of mixed bamboo shoots.

He found it a couple of days ago when he went up the mountain to cut grass, and quickly dug it up before anyone saw it.

If this were seen in Peach Blossom Village, it would have been dug up in no time.

Everyone was dirt poor, so no one looked down on the wild vegetables and fruits from the mountain; everyone was scrambling to get them.

After finishing his meal, he thought it was time to go to Li the bully's house to cook for his nephew.

I locked the small wooden door and went out.

The sound of Yin Baicai opening the door with her key startled the little boy who was reading in the yard. His eyes lit up: Uncle is back! He's back so early today.

The two of them agreed that if they heard the door open, it was their uncle, not a bad person.

As soon as Yin Baicai opened the door, a tearful child ran over and hugged his leg: "Mom—Momo missed you so much."

Yin Baicai was speechless: What's going on? Painless motherhood.

He picked up the child who was clinging to his leg and said, "Little brat, look carefully. I'm a man, not your mother."

Li Mo hugged his neck tightly and rubbed against it, saying, "You're my mother, you smell so good."

Yin Baicai said helplessly: "It smells good? How could that be? He's a grown man, and a little kid says it smells good. He's furious."

Yin Baicai tilted her head back and looked at Li Mo: "Little brat, I'm not your mother. I'm someone your uncle found to cook for you. Let me go, okay?"

Li Mo shook his head: "I won't let go, or Mother will run away."

She hugged him tightly again.

Yin Baicai reassured him, "I won't run away. Let me go first, you're about to strangle me."

It's unclear what word triggered Li Mo, but he started wailing, "Don't die! I don't want my mother to die, boohoo—"

Yin Baicai looked at the little devil she had made cry and patted his back: "Don't cry, don't cry, Mommy won't die."

She inwardly cursed herself: How shameless! She actually took advantage of a child and even claimed to be his mother.

Upon hearing this, Li Mo burst into laughter through her tears: "Really?"

"Really, really, let go of me, I'll cook for you."

Li Mo then released her grip on his neck.

Yin Baicai tried to lift him down, but Li Mo refused, grabbing his collar tightly: "Mom, put me down, are you going to run away? Mo Mo won't get down."

Yin Baicai sighed again, "I won't run away. You need to come down first so I can cook for you. Aren't you hungry?"

Li Mo shook her head: "Mo Mo isn't hungry." But her stomach rumbled.

Yin Baicai chuckled: "Little liar, you said you weren't hungry. Come down here and I'll cook for you."

Li Mo obediently let Yin Baicai lift him down, but still clung tightly to one of his legs like a leg accessory.

Yin Baicai had no choice but to let him hold her; holding her legs was at least better than strangling her neck.

And so, dragging the leg ornament along, he walked step by step toward the kitchen of the bully Li's house.

Upon entering, Yin Baicai saw the lunch prepared by Li the bully. She lit the stove and put the food on it to heat it up.

The food was heated up quickly, and Yin Baicai brought it out, with Li Mo following behind him as always.

Yin Baicai glanced at the book that had fallen to the ground, picked it up, and flipped through a couple of pages at random. The characters looked familiar, but she couldn't write them; they resembled traditional Chinese characters.

Yin Baicai lifted Li Mo onto a stool and sat him down, asking him, "Little devil, you can actually read?"

Li Mo pouted unhappily: "I'm not a little devil, Mom, why don't you call me Mo Mo anymore? And why are you only coming to see Mo Mo now? I missed you so much."

"Okay, Mo Xiaogui, you still haven't answered my question?"

Li Mo pouted again: "It was Uncle who taught me to recognize the characters. Uncle and Mom are so kind."

Yin Baicai was shocked. This bully Li could actually read. He was really amazing. It was said that he was forced to join the army by his second uncle's family. He had been gone for more than ten years and came back not only rich but also literate. It seemed that he was doing quite well!

As far as he knew, there were very few literate people in Peach Blossom Village, and Tian Wenyan was the only one.

Seeing Yin Baicai staring blankly, Li Mo called out to him, "Mo Mo is hungry and wants to eat."

Coming to his senses, he smiled and said, "Okay, little Mo, let's eat the eggs first."

"Mom, eat with us too."

"I'm not hungry, you eat it, otherwise it will get cold."

Even while eating, Li Mo kept his eyes fixed on Yin Baicai, afraid that he might suddenly run away.

Yin Baicai was wondering how to shake off this brat who was watching her so closely.
