The Bully General's Spiritual Husband

Chapter 23 Restaurant Business Opportunities

After the two of them settled the matter of the bricks and tiles, Yin Baicai prepared to go to a restaurant to find a suitable place to sell her recipes.

He led Li Zhe into Fu Man Lou, the largest restaurant in Qingshui Town.

The waiter standing at the entrance looked Yin Baicai up and down, his face full of disdain, and said, "You're here to eat? Fumanlou is a restaurant only the rich can afford. You should go and take a look across the street."

Seeing the waiter's snobbish manner, Yin Baicai immediately lost interest in Fumanlou. If even a waiter dared to look down on people, she could tell that the owner behind the restaurant was probably no good either.

"Hey! When did guard dogs start biting people? This shopkeeper is no good. He doesn't even leash the dog. It would be bad if it bit a customer."

The waiter had never been treated like this before. Fu Man Lou was always bustling with customers, and he usually served wealthy families.

I've never suffered such humiliation before. This poor bastard dared to call me a watchdog. Isn't this a huge loss of face for me?

He Miao raised his hand to hit Yin Baicai, but Li Zhe grabbed it and looked at him coldly: "Try hitting me?"

He Miao tried to pull his hand away for a long time but couldn't. This cold-faced man was incredibly strong. He shouted at Li Zhe, "Let go!"

With a gentle, normal effort, Li Zhe released He Miao, who fell towards the house. Many of the diners in the restaurant were amused by He Miao's comical fall.

"Haha, this guy tripped and fell. He didn't even use much strength. He's really weak."

He Miao shouted, "How dare you push me!"

"You're the one who told me to let go."

He Miao quickly got up and pointed at Li Zhe: "You...you."

The laughter inside the room grew even louder.

Yin Baicai originally wanted to take action herself, but Li the bully stopped her in advance.

Yin Baicai said to Li Zhe beside her, "Let's not go into this kind of shady shop that looks down on people. Let's go to the shop across the street."

The two turned around and went into the restaurant across the street.

He Miao's face turned pale with anger. This scarred man dared to make her lose face so badly, and this ugly guy, you just wait.

The waiter looked at the shop across the street with envy and said to the shopkeeper at the counter, "The business across the street is really good, unlike ours, which is deserted. I even wiped all the tables and chairs clean."

As Zhang the shopkeeper watched Yin Baicai and her companion enter, he said to Xiao Si, "Go and greet the guests. What are you all standing there for?"

Xiao Si said listlessly, "Shopkeeper, there are no more customers. They've all gone up to the other side."

Yin Baicai called out, "Waiter, bring a few dishes."

Xiao Si immediately perked up, turned around with a smile, and blinked at the two people who entered: "Alright, what would you like to eat, sir?"

He quickly grabbed a pot of tea and went over.

After Yin Baicai and Li Zhe sat down, they said to the waiter, "Bring us four of your restaurant's signature dishes."

Xiao Si was overjoyed. Yin Baicai and his group were the first customers to walk into their shop today. He excitedly ran to the back to tell Master Zhu.

Manager Zhang was also very happy to see the two of them arrive. Their restaurant was a small restaurant, and business used to be quite good. But ever since Fumanlou moved across the street, they have had no business at all.

All the customers, both new and old, have gone to the restaurant across the street. This has been going on for more than three months. The restaurant was already losing a lot of money, and he was thinking of giving up, but he had taken it over from his father.

He didn't want his father's life's work to be ruined by him, and he had to run his business every day while constantly enduring the sarcasm and ridicule from the restaurant owner across the street.

Soon, Xiao Si brought out their dishes. "Please enjoy your meal, esteemed guests."

Yin Baicai and Li Zhe were both hungry, so they picked up their bowls and started eating.

Yin Baicai found that the food at this restaurant was pretty good, but why was there not a single customer eating there even though it was already noon, while the restaurant across the street was packed with people?

After finishing his meal, Yin Baicai paid the bill and asked the manager, "Manager, do you want your business to surpass that of the restaurant across the street?"

Shopkeeper Zhang smiled wryly: "Young master, you must be joking. My shop has been open for more than ten years, and all my business has been taken away by the other side. How could I possibly catch up with them?"

"That's because you haven't met me yet. If the shopkeeper agrees, I'll give you a solution, and then you'll know."

Manager Zhang asked with suspicion, "Why are you helping me? What is your purpose?"

Yin Baicai smiled slyly: "I can't stand the way the restaurant across the street does things. Even a waiter dares to look down on people like that."

Manager Zhang had also seen the commotion the two were making across the street. After all, the two restaurants were only one street apart, so he could see everything.

"What benefits do you want?" Manager Zhang thought that since his shop was already in such a state, it wouldn't hurt to listen to this young master's opinion. How bad could it be?

Seeing that things were going well, Yin Baicai called the shopkeeper over and gave him a detailed plan. He offered to contribute his skills as equity and receive 30% of the profits.

He was responsible for providing recipes and marketing strategies.

At first, Manager Zhang thought Yin Baicai was asking for too much, but the more he listened to Yin's so-called "marketing methods," the more feasible they seemed.

Yin Baicai proposed a membership points system as a way to attract customers.

Every customer who makes a purchase earns points; the higher the purchase, the more points they earn, which can be used for discounts at checkout.

Manager Zhang had never heard of this method before and was a little scared. Yin Baicai told him to try it for seven days first, and if it worked, the two of them would sign a contract.

Manager Zhang was an honest man. Seeing that Yin Baicai trusted him so much and wasn't afraid that he would go back on his word after he profited, he felt that this person was worth getting to know better.

Yin Baicai thought that since others would also learn the points membership, the recipes in her mind were the most important thing.

It's difficult to prepare the seasonings for cooking alone.

Yin Baicai went to the kitchen and first taught the head chef how to make two dishes.

A dish of sweet and sour pork ribs and a dish of eight-treasure duck.

Yin Baicai simply demonstrated a couple of cooking techniques to the chef, who was immediately impressed. He never imagined that ribs and duck could be prepared this way.

Once it was ready, Manager Zhang couldn't wait to taste it. He could smell the aroma even from outside. "Delicious! Sweet, sour, and savory. This sweet and sour pork ribs is perfect for summer. It's much better than soup or stew."

Yin Baicai also taught a recipe for French fries that is very popular with children. Served with ketchup, it can make any kid's mouth water.

Finally, Yin Baicai also asked Manager Zhang to give some tips to the little beggars on the street so they could spread the word all over the place.

Manager Zhang was a businessman after all, and after a quick discussion, he thought it was feasible and ordered someone to do it.

Yin Baicai led Li Zhe out. Ever since Yin Baicai shared her ideas with the shopkeeper...

Li Zhe was very curious about Yin Baicai; how could a farm boy know so much?

However, he didn't ask, knowing that he would tell himself when the time came.
