Saving the male protagonist in the dungeon only resulted in him becoming cannon fodder.

Lu Ze asked dismissively, "What's there to talk about between us?" Luffy smiled mysteriously and said, "What if it were someone you've never seen before?"

Lu Ze turned to look at him and asked in confusion, "What do you mean?" Luffy said, "I went to see Li Yuan. Just now, he told me about his story."

Lu Ze asked, puzzled, "Why did you suddenly want to see him?" Luffy shrugged and said, "I'm just curious why he made that choice." Lu Ze frowned and asked, "So what do you want to do now?" Luffy's lips curled up slightly, revealing a sly smile, and he said, "How did you gain the appreciation of the mysterious person, who even specifically told me not to touch you?"

Lu Ze wasn't sure how to explain it all either. "The mysterious man just thinks I'm nice." Luffy suddenly understood. He had guessed many reasons, but he hadn't expected the mysterious man to help him not out of pity or friendship, but because he had value to him. Luffy felt a little disappointed, but at the same time, he realized that this world was cruel; only those who had value received special privileges.

After leaving Lu Ze's company, Luffy decided to return to his old home. When he arrived at his doorstep, he found the yard overgrown with weeds, and the door was difficult to open. Looking at the scene before him, Luffy felt a pang of sorrow. If it weren't for his own mistakes, he wouldn't be in this predicament.

Luffy called some people to help clean up the clutter inside and outside the yard and rooms. After some effort, they finally got the house clean and tidy. Luffy decided to move back in and start a new life.

Afterwards, Luffy headed down another path, to what used to be their secret base. Luffy, Bai Mengmeng, Lu Ze, Liu Lin, and others had spent many wonderful times there. However, now they were all enemies, each going their own way.

Luffy followed the path deeper into the area and was pleasantly surprised to find that his former secret base had been completely transformed. Houses had been built on the once barren land, and the pond had been thoroughly cleaned. Curious, Luffy continued towards one of the houses, only to find a security guard standing at the door.

Luffy tried to ask the security guard whose house it was, but the guard kept his mouth shut and refused to reveal any information. Luffy was very confused and didn't know what was going on in this place.

Having no other option, Luffy summoned his secretary: "Find out who owns this house. I need to know right now!" He then leisurely sat on the lawn awaiting the results, his thoughts drifting away as he recalled everything he had experienced over the years. He was overwhelmed with emotion.

He recalled Li Yuan's story from earlier that day and the feelings Li Yuan had evoked in him. Reflecting on recent events, he felt like an executioner, clearing thorns from their path. Yet, this was merely for his own protection; he had to keep moving. Watching Li Yuan live a carefree and untroubled life in prison, without a worry in the world, even sacrificing himself for his brother's safety, filled him with envy. He himself, on the other hand, had been constantly instilled with hatred and a sense of duty, as if only by relentlessly moving forward could he repay all those who cared for him.

Just then, his secretary called to inform him of the search results. Luffy was quite surprised to hear the answer, but he quickly dialed her number and quietly waited for her arrival. Meanwhile, he lay down on the lawn, enjoying the sunshine and the gentle breeze, trying to find a moment of peace and tranquility.

Not long after, Bai Mengmeng came to his side and gently sat down on the grass. She looked at Luffy and said softly, "Do you remember this place?"

Luffy looked up, and the sunlight shone directly on Bai Mengmeng, making her look like an angel. Her beauty was unchanged from when she was a child, still captivating. Luffy's heart pounded, as if he had returned to his innocent youth.

Bai Mengmeng smiled and slowly lay down on the grass, side by side with Luffy. She looked at Luffy and whispered, "Thank you, Luffy."

Luffy turned to look at Bai Mengmeng beside him, a hint of emotion flashing in his eyes. He knew that even though so much time had passed, Bai Mengmeng was still his most sincere friend. He said, "You're still so beautiful... I've always liked you... but I won't do anything to betray you. I'll help Lu Ze."

Bai Mengmeng was slightly taken aback; she hadn't expected Luffy to express his feelings for her so frankly. A blush rose to her cheeks, and she said shyly, "I really didn't expect you to still be the same as when we were little. I'm so happy to see you again."

Luffy smiled slightly, looked into the distance, and said with emotion, "Yes, I'm happy too. I just didn't expect that we would meet again in this way."

Bai Mengmeng turned her head to look at Luffy and asked softly, "So what should we do next?"

Luffy's eyes dimmed, and he said with a bitter smile, "What can I do? I'll just have to keep being the bad guy. After all, my father is still in their hands."

Bai Mengmeng understood Luffy's helplessness. She gently held Luffy's hand and said firmly, "I will do my best to cooperate with you. We must not let them hurt you."

Luffy looked at Bai Mengmeng with gratitude, his heart filled with warmth. He couldn't help but ask, "By the way, how did you end up building a house here?"

Looking at his dazed expression, Bai Mengmeng felt a pang of sorrow and said softly, "Because this is the place you like... Ever since your accident, I've wanted to come see you, but your father is full of hostility towards our Bai family. To protect himself, my father had no choice but to make me sever ties with you. That's life; everyone has their own helplessness. But I always believed you would come back, so I chose to preserve this place and wait for your return."

Luffy never expected Bai Mengmeng to go to such lengths for him, and he was so moved that he didn't know how to express it. He gazed deeply at Bai Mengmeng, his eyes filled with gratitude.

Bai Mengmeng was still worried that Li Ming might harm Luffy, so she asked with concern, "So what do you plan to do now? Will Li Ming pose a threat to you?"

Luffy smiled confidently and reassured him, "Don't worry, I've used some tricks to keep that peeping tom from noticing my actions for now. That's why I've had the opportunity to do so much."

After saying that, the two lay quietly on the grass, enjoying the moment of peace. They admired the beautiful sky together, as if the whole world had shrunk to just the two of them.
