Meeting you in autumn

Chapter 22 Accident

Just as the group was arguing, their homeroom teacher, Li Xiang, walked in and gestured for everyone to be quiet.

The once noisy classroom suddenly fell silent, and all the students looked puzzled and began to whisper among themselves.

"This isn't our teacher's class, so why is he here?"

"Oh my god, are they here to steal my class? Please, no!"

…………

Amidst a cacophony of noise, homeroom teacher Li Xiang said in a deep voice, "Alright, everyone, be quiet. Don't worry, I'm not here to steal your class, nor am I here to teach."

"I'm here to inform everyone of something."

Hearing his words, everyone breathed a sigh of relief and listened attentively.

Li Xiang stood on the podium, his gaze slowly sweeping across the faces of the many students below, observing their reactions. A sense of helplessness welled up in his heart.

After clearing his throat, Li Xiang cut to the chase and said, "Class, quiet down! There's no need for the last two periods this afternoon. All senior students will be going to the conference room for a lecture later. Also, there's no evening self-study tonight, because the school is repairing the power lines, and the entire campus will be without power all night."

As soon as he finished speaking, a deafening cheer erupted in the classroom, echoing through the sky.

"Wow—" Some students were so excited they danced around, as if they had been stunned by this sudden good news; others clasped their hands together, looked up at the sky, and muttered, "Could this be a special arrangement by God...?"

However, amidst this joyful atmosphere, an untimely remark suddenly rang out: "Don't get too excited yet, don't forget there's still a math test waiting for us!"

Upon hearing this, the previously noisy classroom quieted down slightly, but soon erupted into a frenzy again.

After all, for most students, being able to temporarily escape the constraints of classrooms and evening self-study is already something to celebrate.

Li Xiang, the homeroom teacher, shook his head helplessly with a bitter smile on his face.

He thought to himself, "These kids, they're ecstatic just hearing they don't have to go to class." Then he turned and walked out of the classroom.

At this moment, Chen Fang, who was sitting in the back corner, suddenly lit up. He turned to look at Chen Feng behind him and said in a low voice with a mysterious expression, "Chen Feng, why don't we just take this opportunity to slip away? Anyway, the homeroom teacher doesn't know who didn't attend the lecture, right?"

As he spoke, a sly glint flashed in Chen Fang's eyes, clearly quite pleased with his suggestion.

Upon hearing Chen Fang's words, Shen Jia immediately leaned over and nodded repeatedly in agreement: "I also think this is a good idea, Fangfang, I strongly support you!"

"Everyone, you can head to the meeting room now. Please hurry." Just as the group was discussing, squad leader Lin Li announced loudly.

As the students in the classroom prepared to leave, Chen Fang and Shen Jia exchanged a glance without making a sound.

Taking advantage of the fact that the other students were not paying attention to them, they quietly broke away from the class line and, like two nimble little mice, tiptoed quickly toward the school gate.

Just then, the sharp-eyed Guan Yu noticed Chen Fang and Shen Jia's subtle movements. She quickly turned her head, her gaze falling on Jing Yi beside her, a sly smile on her face, and whispered to Jing Yi, "Ayi, how about... we slip away too?"

However, to Guan Yu's utter surprise, her seemingly quiet words were overheard by Feng Ming behind her. Feng Ming let out a surprised "Hmm?"

Then he stared at her with wide eyes, his face full of disbelief, and then asked in a low voice, "Guan Yu, you've got some nerve! How dare you even think of doing this?"

Guan Yu was startled by Feng Ming's sudden question, and her body trembled involuntarily.

Oh no! How could I be so unlucky as to have this guy overhear me? She inwardly groaned.

Seeing that Guan Yu hadn't responded for a while, Feng Ming frowned slightly and raised his voice again, shouting, "Did you hear me?"

Guan Yu couldn't help but tremble. She glared at Feng Ming, her face full of disgust, but dared not disobey him, so she could only mutter with a hint of grievance, "I know, I know, you're so long-winded!"

Feng Ming nodded in satisfaction when he heard Guan Yu obediently give in, and then followed the group forward with peace of mind.

After a while, everyone finally arrived at the conference room. After everyone found their seats, Feng Ming looked around and found that apart from Chen Feng and Guan Qing, he couldn't see Guan Yu and Jing Yi anywhere.

He looked completely bewildered and asked the two of them, puzzled, "Huh? Where did they go? We can't see them anywhere."
