The Ailao Mountains in Yunnan Province are a mysterious mountain forest full of mystery, horror, supernatural and adventurous elements in folk legends. Not to mention that I have been climbing for a morning, this mountain is more than 3,000 meters above sea level.

This undeveloped primeval forest was shrouded in thick fog, and the weather was unpredictable, with rain one moment and strong winds the next. The mountain path was also uneven, and although I had signed up for a hiking tour, as a seasoned homebody, I didn't exercise much and gloriously fell behind.

Shi Wanxia glanced around at the towering fir trees, nearly thirty meters tall with trunks over thirty centimeters thick, blocking out most of the sunlight. Various mosses clung to the trunks and branches, making it look exactly like the Yunnan Insect Valley in the movie.

Shi Wanxia, an ordinary online novelist, was originally preparing to finish writing the final chapter of her novel today.

However, I couldn't sleep at all the night before last, and when I woke up yesterday morning, I had no inspiration. My mind was completely blank, and I had no ideas at all. I racked my brains for a long time but still couldn't come up with any thoughts.

So I packed some food and drinks, grabbed a backpack, and went hiking. I bought the nearest plane ticket and flew to Yunnan Province.

Shi Wanxia waited for a long time on a bare rock, but no one came to find her. There was no cell phone signal, so she decided to go down the mountain first!

Following the route I came by, I put my phone in my backpack, stood up with my trekking poles, and slipped and fell, probably because the road was slippery from the recent rain.

"Holy crap!"

The moss underfoot was too slippery, and she fell heavily to the ground, crashing onto the rocks. Just as she tried to get up, her body went out of control, and she rolled down the hillside. The visibility was very low, and Shi Wanxia tried to struggle to get up but failed, rolling all the way down the hillside.

The hillside was uneven, with loose stones and broken or wind-blown tree trunks. Shi Wanxia would often scrape against them, and one day she accidentally hit her head on a rock on the hillside and fainted.

Below the steep mountain was a cliff shrouded in thick fog. Shi Wanxia tumbled and fell in, and the surrounding fog inexplicably dissipated after she fell in.

With a loud thud, the sound of a heavy object hitting the ground shook the layer of dead leaves at the base of the tree, startling the birds in the forest into taking flight.

After a long while, the person who had fallen to the ground slowly got up.

"Ouch, that hurts so much! I bumped my head and got a huge bump. If I had known I was going to be this unlucky, I would have stayed home and slept in. I just paid money to suffer like this!"

She knelt on the ground, hurriedly put down her backpack, and took out a mirror to check her head wounds. The small folding mirror reflected the wounds on her face—two cuts of different lengths from tree branches, still oozing blood. She touched them with her hand...

"Ouch, that hurts! Oh no, will it leave a scar?!"

The bump on his head was quite frightening, a purplish-red bruise surrounded by a ring of bruises. Goodness, climbing the mountain has left him disfigured. He also had many scratches on his arms and legs, from the branches and rocks that scratched him when he rolled down the mountain.

I looked up at the sky, but I couldn't see anything. Tall, towering trees blocked out the sun, stretching endlessly and obscuring the sky. Only a few rays of sunlight filtered through the branches and leaves.

I took out my phone and dialed 119, but a cold, mechanical voice answered: "Sorry, your network is currently experiencing an error. Please try again later, Srroy!..."

"What's going on? Why can't I get through?" I dialed 110 again, but it still said no signal. Ugh, where am I? Yunnan Province is our own country, why is there still no signal?

Perhaps this is a primeval forest, and mobile base stations haven't been built here yet! Shi Wanxia thought to herself, but looking at the surrounding primeval forest, she still felt uneasy. She nervously swallowed, and the pain in her body seemed less noticeable.

"Don't be afraid, don't be afraid, trust the country, it will come to save me, I must trust my motherland."

I picked up a relatively sturdy wooden stick from the ground, stood up, and took a deep breath of fresh air. I must say, even though this place is sparsely populated.

But the environment and air quality are really good. It's just that the signal is bad. There's direct sunlight about 500 meters in front of the woods. That should be a large open area, at least the vegetation isn't as dense as here. You could go take a look, find a shelter, and wait for the rescue team to come and save you.

Shi Wanxia, holding a parasol, moved forward at a snail's pace, her feet sinking into the mud. Just moments ago, the sky was clear and blue, but after only a few steps, a downpour began. Shi Wanxia was about to curse.

"Damn God, can't you be a little kinder to me? Why am I so unlucky? I came out for a walk today, all happy to clear my head, and this happened. What bad luck!"

Shi Wanxia kept muttering to herself the whole way, but luckily she had done her research before climbing the mountain and knew that the weather in Yunnan Province was unpredictable.

I brought a folding umbrella, which can both shield me from the sun and keep me out of the rain. It's just a pity about my newly bought casual pants. Although I don't mind them getting dirty, they were covered in mud splattered all the way here. No wonder they got dirty.

The quality of the windproof jacket is pretty good; it didn't tear even after rolling down such a high hillside. I'll definitely give the seller a good review when I get back.

She walked for a long time in the forest, looking for a place to take temporary shelter from the rain, after all, she had walked many miles from where she had rolled down.

My watch showed I'd walked over 6 steps. If it hadn't been raining and the ground wasn't all muddy, I would have collapsed on the ground and never gotten up again. This amount of exercise is killing me!

"Wait a minute, is this mountain really that big? I've been walking for two or three hours, and I still haven't left this forest, and I haven't seen a single person!"

It's raining heavily, and there's no way to find a high place to see how big this place is. What if there's a thunderstorm?

Standing on such a high place is too dangerous. Forget it, I'll walk a little further and see if I can find a cave or something to take shelter from the rain. I refuse to believe that there isn't even a place to shelter from the rain here.

With her heavy feet, Shi Wanxia finally found a cave halfway up the mountain. The entrance was more than two meters wide and about two and a half meters high. Fortunately, the space inside was relatively large, about 60 square meters, and fairly flat. She limped into the cave and collapsed onto the ground.

I took out the alcohol and iodine from my bag, disinfected myself, cleaned the wound, and then lay down on the ground to rest with my eyes closed.

"Oh my, we've finally found a place to rest. Once the rain stops, let's see if we can gather some firewood to start a fire, and maybe find some branches to make a makeshift door."

This cave is so spacious. Although there are no traces of wild animals, it's still possible that no wild animals have visited it. It's too dangerous for me to be alone.
