With a reputation of 70,000, one leader travels across countless worlds with his adventure team.

Chapter 30: The Gift of Weapons, Robert's March North, and the Mother of Dragons

A total of 186 people will receive rewards this time. The equipment rewards will be distributed starting with the 144 people who placed in the individual competitions. They can choose their own swords, spears, or bows.

Seeing the crowd excitedly swearing their eternal allegiance to King Robert's rule as they received their weapons, Bai Ze knew that Robert had completely achieved his goal in organizing this tournament: to let all the high-level forces in various regions feel the king's grace. What could be more touching than that?

Next, the top 50 finishers in both events were awarded prizes. There were 20 people in total, and I saw several familiar faces among them. Prince Oberyn Martell, the "Red Viper," was at the very front, receiving a spear and a dagger as a reward from the king. The prince did not finish in the top 50 in the archery competition.

As the rewards were being distributed, Bai Ze also spotted the swordsman with the fastest attack speed, and Arya Stark let out a joyful shout from the stands.

Bai Ze then realized that this short but highly skilled swordsman was none other than Syrio, Arya's swordsmanship teacher from the original series, who had used a wooden sword to defeat several Lannister red-robed figures and save Arya.

Syrio, also a top 50 character, presented Syrio with a greatsword and a spear. After bowing, Syrio walked to the stands where Arya was sitting, raised the greatsword he had obtained to show Arya, and Arya was so excited that she wanted to jump off the stands. The maid next to her quickly pulled Arya back from her ecstatic state.

Finally, the last to step onto the stage were formidable figures who had placed in the top 50 in all three competitions. Davos Seaworth, the Onion Knight, was among them. These 22 individuals could be considered the strongest fighting force in Westeros at this stage. They would not only receive weapons as a reward from the king, but also a set of armor.

It's a pity that Jon Snow, Jaime Lannister, and The Mountain weren't there. They are all highly skilled fighters, but unfortunately, The Mountain and Jaime Lannister aren't on your side.

After the rewards were given, everyone stood in the arena. Robert looked at the continent's elite warriors in the arena and said:

"We are the best and last bulwark of the seven kingdoms. This journey north will not be divided into families and kingdoms, because once we reach the Great Wall, the only people we can rely on are those around you!"

You might be killed by White Walkers at any moment, but your comrades will save you. My lords, sergeants, knights, let us entrust our backs to one another and slay those White Walkers who bring darkness and cold! Westeros has never belonged to them; this is our home!

Everyone was moved by King Robert's words, and Robert drew his sword and roared, "Long live Westeros! Long live the kingdom!"

Long live Westeros! Long live the Kingdom!

Everyone drew the weapons they had been awarded and shouted at Robert, who was standing on the platform. This time, Robert finally clenched his fist and was about to punch the White Walkers!

After the rewards were distributed, each family arranged for the personnel to accompany Robert north. Those who received rewards today should forget about it; they and their weapons were an important force in killing the White Walkers. They were the main force to deal with the White Walkers after the regular troops were exhausted. However, the overall military strength still needed to be increased. Otherwise, if Robert led a few hundred men plus the 5000 troops left in the North north, that wouldn't be starting a war, that would be sending them to their deaths.

 …

Just as Robert was preparing to send people and supplies north, Daenerys Targaryen on the continent of Essos had successfully incorporated the Unsullied army of Astapor and freed all the slaves of Astapor, including the Unsullied army that had already obeyed her orders.

She was about to lead her army to attack the next slave-owning city-state, Yunkai, but a person from the west made her stop in her tracks.

Jorah Mormont, Grey Worm, and Missandei accompanied Daenerys as she read Robert's letter. The various incidents in Westeros left her with mixed feelings.

She also knew that her father, Aerys Targaryen II, had not treated the various fiefdoms very well, and that the Duke of Ricard in the North, along with his eldest son, had been murdered by his father, the "Mad King."

During her time on the continent of Essos, Daenerys had witnessed all sorts of conflicts. Her kindness had even led to the death of her 'Sun King' Drogo. The treachery and intrigue in Qarth had left Daenerys feeling utterly exhausted. If it weren't for her three dragons by her side, she might not have been able to hold on any longer.

The trip to Astapor restored Daenerys's confidence, but the scarcity of resources within the city and the growing size of her three dragon sons made her prepare to take action against other slave cities when a letter arrived from Westeros.

The messenger, who had set out from White Harbor, finally found Daenerys Targaryen, who had already made a name for herself with her dragons. If it weren't for the general directions Bai Ze had given him, the messenger thought he might have died in Essos.

After reading Robert's letter, Daenerys picked up the letter given to her by Bai Ze. The letter detailed the White Walkers beyond the Wall in the North and the appetites of the three dragons. Essos, a barren city-state, simply could not sustain them, let alone what it would be like after she freed the slaves.

The increase in the number of free people will increase the demand for food and living supplies. Daenerys Targaryen, who has no ability or capital for foreign trade, will see her army collapse before her three dragons are fully grown.

Bai Ze suggested that Daenerys take the dragons back to Westeros to help Robert permanently resolve the White Walkers' southward advance. Bai Ze also provided a way to ensure the three dragons could grow up safely without disturbing other people's livestock, along with food (pet food from the pet backpack, which restores a percentage of satiety; three packs are enough to fill them up, and four packs are enough to overfeed them). Once the dragons reached their full size, they could then discuss the issue of territory.

Then we can kidnap Daenerys Targaryen and her three dragons, eliminating this headache for everyone at its source, and everyone will be happy!

After reading the letter Bai Ze wrote to her, Daenerys realized that she had three dragons, as well as an army and the people of the city-states to feed. If she continued to conquer more city-states, the number of citizens would double, and the size of the dragons would no longer be enough for a few small city-states to feed.

She told all these things to her close confidantes, with Jorah Mormont speaking first:

"This is indeed a problem we will face now and in the future. I have taken stock of the supplies in Astapor. They can sustain all of us for more than three months. However, your act of freeing slaves has led to the surrounding slave city-states imposing a trade ban on you."

Unless we conquer all the slave city-states, we will receive no supplies from outside in the next few months.

Daenerys knew the importance of the matter, but if she didn't take the path of conquest now, she would slowly die in Astapor. In that case, Astapor would collapse from within without any other city-states attacking her.

“Jora, do you know this Bai Ze? He is now the new Warden of the West in Westeros. The Lannister family rebellion has been completely wiped out, but we have never heard of him.”

"I only recently heard some news about him from a merchant from Westeros. He said that he first appeared in Winterfell in the North and immediately used a rare weapon, similar to a Valyrian steel sword, to give away in a duel."

Later, the Lannisters rebelled, the Westerlands were pacified, and King Robert appointed Bai Ze as the new Warden of the Westerlands, a duke, and he was also said to be a highly skilled swordsman.

Jorah Mormont enjoys gathering information from harbor merchants. He came to Daenerys's side with a mission, but now he has fallen in love with Khaleesi of the Grass Sea, the Mother of Dragons, and the Unburnt!

His previous missions had been terminated due to the internal strife in Westeros, so he didn't need to worry about Daenerys knowing his original purpose.

"Should we accept their conditions? Once Drogon and the others grow up, their food supply will indeed be a huge problem. Dragons have enormous appetites, and just the three of them alone will eventually overwhelm us!"

Daenerys was already somewhat tempted; Bai Ze's letter had played a role.

Missandei also said to Daenerys, "My lord, we are willing to obey your commands, and we will follow you wherever you take us!"

Missandei, who found new life with Daenerys, gave her everything to Daenerys, so Daenerys' path became her path.

Daenerys looked at Jorah Mormont and asked, "Jora, I'm giving you a choice now. Will you go back?"

“My lord, I think I will return. My father is at Castle Black beneath the Wall, and they were among the first to face the White Walkers!”

Jorah Mormont still longs to go home. His greedy wife has run away, and he no longer needs to live for anyone else. His only worry is his father, who is facing attacks from the White Walkers.

Daenerys bit her nails, pondering the pros and cons of staying versus going back. Drogon's call jolted her awake from her thoughts. She looked at the slowly growing Drogon, as if she had made a difficult decision.

She turned to Missandei and said, “The climate in the North is still very cold. Missandei, gather the excess clothing in the city. Jorah, take most of the city’s treasure and go to the port to buy ships from merchants. Grey Worm, gather half of the troops and take the supplies needed for the journey. We’re going back to Westeros!”

Stormborn, Daenerys, Khaleesi, Mother of Dragons, the Unburnt, and the Silver Queen Daenerys Targaryen issued a series of orders. Missandei, seeing Daenerys' spirits lifted, replied:

"Yes, Your Majesty!"

After speaking, he turned around and gathered people to collect the excess cloth and clothing in the city. The others also bowed and turned to carry out their own tasks.

Daenerys held her dragon son Drogon, stroking its smooth scales, and murmured to herself:

"I hope my choice is right. The era of family rule over Westeros may be over, but we can't hand it over to the White Walkers!"

"Bring me that messenger from Westeros!" Daenerys shouted to the Unsullied guards at the door.

A moment later, the messenger was brought before Daenerys. The messenger promptly bowed and said:

"Your Majesty, a messenger from House Stark of the North sends his greetings!"

Tell me about your Lord Bai Ze!

Daenerys was eager to learn more about this mysterious figure who claimed to be able to solve the problems of her dragon son's growth.

When the messenger heard Daenerys's question, his eyes lit up immediately; he was wide awake at the mention of it.

He slowly introduced to Daenerys the swordsman's tavern that Bai Ze ran in Winterfell, his superb swordsmanship, weapons comparable to Valyrian steel, swords given as prizes in duels, swords with inherent attributes, and how he led the rangers out of the Wall to kill the first First Men White Walkers.

The messenger poured out all the information he knew about Bai Ze to Daenerys. After listening, Daenerys felt a little more confident in solving her dragon son's growth problems.

With such a vast fortune, able to casually give away weapons comparable to Valyrian steel, feeding her three dragons shouldn't be a problem. What the Dragon Queen didn't expect was that Bai Ze possessed even more incredible pet food to feed his dragons!

 …

Three days later, Daenerys took half of the Unsullied soldiers from the city and elected a council consisting of a doctor, a scholar, a priest, and an Unsullied commander to rule Astapor. The Unsullied commander led the remaining soldiers as the city's guards.

The people of the city came to bid farewell to the silver-haired queen who had liberated them. Daenerys, who had not yet experienced the series of terrible things that followed Slaver's Bay, was still very happy. She was not constantly harassed by the secret organization of the "Sons of the Harpy." The Mother of Dragons, whose political career had just begun, was dragged back from Essos by Bai Ze.
