Zhuge Liang's Journey to Dominate the World: Starting from Another World
Chapter 12 The husband sings and the wife follows
As the spring breeze blows, the emerald bamboo on the mountain resembles a green sea of waves, while the stream beside it adds the most beautiful melody to this landscape.
The plum tree in the courtyard, whether due to its variety or something else, has remained in bloom since the cold winter until now in March.
Kongming, holding a feather fan, paid no attention to the two disciples guarding him, and quietly admired the scene...
"My wife, now that you're here, why not join your husband in appreciating this rare and beautiful scenery?" Kongming suddenly spoke up, his voice carrying a hint of teasing and self-deprecation.
At this moment, a stunningly beautiful woman dressed in a plain white dress gracefully arrived; it was Su Yao.
"Junior Brother Zhuge, you're in high spirits. But even though the scenery is beautiful, it can't compare to even a fraction of the carefree joy." Su Yao parted her lips slightly, her voice like heavenly music. She didn't refute Kongming's address to her, after all, the two were a formally married couple.
Kongming glanced sideways, his bright eyes looking directly at Su Yao. "My lady is joking. I think this place is quite nice. All I ask for is to enjoy a peaceful corner."
"Really? Now there's a chance for you to regain your freedom, are you willing?" Su Yao asked softly, her eyes filled with a complex mix of emotions.
Kongming gently shook his head, waved his feather fan lightly, and smiled: "Whether one is free or not is merely a matter of state of mind. I have long been accustomed to the tranquility of these mountains, and I fear that returning to the mortal world would be difficult for me."
Su Yao frowned slightly, staring intently at Kong Ming, as if trying to see through his true thoughts.
Kongming had been under house arrest here by her father for seven years. In all these years, except for the first few days after the wedding ceremony, she had hardly come here again.
Su Zhuo's initial anger towards her behavior gradually turned into tacit approval.
"Alright!"
Su Yao took a deep breath, left two words, and turned to leave.
Soon after, Su Yao returned to the sect's main hall and truthfully relayed Kong Ming's reply to Su Zhuo. Upon hearing this, Su Zhuo frowned slightly, seemingly deep in thought.
Seeing Su Zhuo's expression, Li Guangling knew something was wrong. It was true that once someone leaves, they are forgotten. However, the brother and sister were still waiting for Su Zhuo's decision.
"Did Zhuge Liang really say that?" Su Zhuo asked in a deep voice.
Su Yao nodded and said, "He did say that, and judging from his expression, he didn't seem to be lying at all."
"Take the young prince and his sister and go again!" This was clearly unexpected for Su Zhuo, so he said to Su Yao.
Su Yao nodded slightly, accepted the order, and left.
Last night, wind and rain accompanied the sounds of spring; the rustling curtains stirred my restless heart. The candle flickered, the water clock dripped, and sleep eluded me; seven years have passed, and I'm only now waking from a dream. Life is like a flowing river, unpredictable; fleeting life is like a dream, a shadow following its form. The road to a drunken revelry is safe, why ask? Let the idle clouds and wild cranes drift as they will. Time flies, do not be alarmed; let me entrust my leisure to the green mountains…
From afar, the three heard the sounds of a zither and chanting coming from the mountains and forests, ethereal and distant, as if heavenly music was cleansing their souls.
"Who is playing the zither and singing?" Li Muling stopped and carefully savored the rhythm of the lyrics and music, seemingly puzzled yet also enlightened.
Su Yao was slightly taken aback, as she naturally knew that Kong Ming was skilled in music.
“It’s the person you want to invite out of seclusion,” Su Yao replied softly, a complex expression on her face.
Li Muling turned to look at Su Yao, her eyes sparkling with curiosity. What kind of person could have such helplessness and insights into life?
The three continued on their way, the music and chanting growing clearer. Passing through the bamboo forest, they saw a man in a blue robe sitting on a rock, his eyes closed as he played the zither and chanted.
The man had a handsome face, a feather fan placed to one side, and long hair fluttering in the wind. He seemed to be one with the world, transcending worldly concerns. It was as if nothing in the world could disturb his heart.
The Li siblings had completely different expressions when they met Kongming.
In his eyes, how could someone younger than himself, with an air of scholarly refinement, possibly solve their predicament? He couldn't help but feel a little dissatisfied with Qinglan Sect's perfunctory attitude.
Li Muling, however, was different. She was exceptionally intelligent from a young age. When she saw Kongming, a light flashed in her eyes, as if she had seen hope.
As the music ended, Kongming slowly opened his eyes, looked at Su Yao and the other two, and smiled slightly: "My wife, are you afraid that I will be lonely in the deep mountains, so you have found someone to keep me company?"
Upon hearing this, Su Yao blushed slightly. Although she and Kong Ming had gone through the wedding ceremony, they had not consummated their marriage. Calling him that in front of outsiders made her feel a little embarrassed, so she scolded, "Junior Brother Zhuge, don't talk nonsense."
Kongming laughed heartily, stood up, his posture as upright as a pine tree, and an indescribable aura emanated from him.
He gently brushed the dust off his clothes, walked slowly towards the three people, and looked at Li Guangling and his sister. He said indifferently, "May I ask who these two are?"
Su Yao gave a brief introduction, explained her purpose, and pointed out the identities of the two people.
Li Muling bowed deeply, though she was curious about the relationship between the person before her and Su Yao, she had no time to dwell on it at the moment. Li Guangling, though displeased, also gave a slight bow.
"I'm afraid I'll have to disappoint you both. How could my meager skills possibly solve the predicament you're facing?" Kongming said with a slight smile, gently waving his feather fan.
Upon hearing this, Li Guangling's heart sank. He had thought that Su Zhuo would introduce him to some expert, but the person in front of him seemed to be no better than an ordinary person.
The key issue is that even with just this one person, he's unwilling to help.
"Master Zhuge, we apologize for disturbing you." Li Guangling cupped his hands in greeting to Kongming, then pulled Li Muling away.
"Brother! I think Master Zhuge must be extraordinary. Let's wait a little longer." Li Muling was unwilling to leave just like that, and she forcefully broke free from Li Guangling's hand.
Turning to look at Kongming, he bowed deeply and said sincerely, "Master Zhuge, for the sake of Elder Zuo Ci's friendship with my father, I hope you will come out of seclusion to help me!"
It would have been better if we hadn't mentioned Zuo Ci; it was because of this cheap master that he was imprisoned for seven years. Consequently, Kongming simply turned and left...
Su Yao glanced apologetically at Li Muling, then chased after Kong Ming.
Although she had gone through the wedding ceremony with Kongming, the total time they spent together was no more than three days. In fact, she didn't know much about Kongming, and even she was a little unsure at this moment...
A hint of disappointment flashed in Li Muling's eyes.
Li Guangling sneered. He had long seen through these hypocritical cultivation sects; they would not help anyone without benefiting from it.
The saying "when people leave, the tea cools" applies not only to the mortal world, but even more so to the world of cultivation.
Just then, a powerful aura suddenly came from afar, and a person walked through the air.
"Get out! Get out of Qinglan Sect right now!"
The sudden sound left Li Guangling and his sister bewildered. A profound sense of humiliation spread through Li Guangling's heart.
Although he was a mortal, he was a member of the royal family. When the King of Zhongshan was alive, most cultivation sects would give him some face. Now, being shouted at like this, his face turned red, almost as if it were about to bleed.
"Thank you!"
Kongming stopped, a slight smile playing on his lips, and whispered to Su Yao beside him…
