Quick Transmigration: I'm the Villain's Assistant to the Protagonist
Chapter 207 The Tragedy of the Sealing 11
The attendant Leon followed behind, his figure nimble and his steps in sync with the prince's.
He was dressed in a simple and neat servant's uniform, his eyes scanning his surroundings warily, his hand always on his sword, ready to deal with any unexpected situation. His serious and dutiful demeanor was respectable.
Prince Adrian's sharp gaze swept over the group before he decisively declared, "This operation is of utmost importance! Elena, be responsible for rear magical support, ensuring a continuous flow of magic! Calvin, scout the path ahead and detect any potential dangers! Eric, lead the knights into battle, bravely annihilating the enemy! Shen Ying, use your bow and arrows for ranged attacks, protecting the flanks! Leon, stay close to me, be ready to be deployed at any time, assist in monitoring the entire group, and ensure timely assistance!"
Everyone responded in unison: "Yes!"
Adrian waved his hand and decisively ordered, "Let's go!"
Shen Ying stood before the tall horse, her heart filled with trepidation. In the real world, she had never encountered such a large and powerful animal. Its robust body, strong limbs, and constantly wagging tail made Shen Ying feel somewhat at a loss. Her brows furrowed, and her eyes revealed obvious fear.
Her companions all mounted their horses nimbly without hesitation. Shen Ying knew she had no way out, so she gritted her teeth and reluctantly walked towards the horse. She stretched out her slightly trembling hand and gently placed it on the horse's back; the warm touch made her heart skip a beat.
"Horse, oh horse, you'd better be considerate of me, I don't want to be thrown off." Shen Ying muttered softly, as if she were discussing it with the horse, or perhaps encouraging herself. She carefully lifted her foot and put it in the stirrup, while her other hand gripped the reins tightly.
Fortunately, the moment she sat on the horse, her body seemed to regain its own consciousness. As if a skill had been unlocked, she expertly controlled the horse's movements, which relieved Shen Ying. But her heart remained pounding; after all, it was still too unfamiliar and dangerous for her.
The guards set off immediately, their steps precise and powerful, their voices thunderous. The clatter of hooves and footsteps blended like a stirring war song.
Led by Adrian, the group rode their tall horses at breakneck speed toward the town. The dust kicked up by their hooves, glistening in the sunlight, formed golden plumes that drifted along the road.
The trees lining the road swayed wildly as if under a spell, their branches rubbing and whipping against each other, making a chilling creaking sound, as if telling people about their unease.
A strong wind howled past, swirling leaves and debris that stung everyone's faces.
Suddenly, a horde of enormous, hideous monsters surged forth from the dense forest in all directions like a tidal wave. They bared their fangs and claws; some had huge fangs dripping with foul-smelling slime; others brandished tentacles with sharp spikes; their eyes gleamed with a bloodthirsty madness, and they roared in a chilling manner.
"Everyone be careful! Maintain formation!" Adrian shouted, tightening the reins. His horse neighed and reared up. The moment the battle began, his gaze swept quickly across the crowd, and when he saw Shen Ying, a hint of worry flashed in his eyes.
Elena swiftly waved her magic wand and loudly chanted an ancient and mysterious incantation: "In the name of magic, dispel the darkness, thunder's wrath, descend!" A great light shone around her, and purple runes flew out from her robes, gathering in the air into a huge ball of energy, which then transformed into thick bolts of lightning that struck down towards the horde of monsters.
Each bolt of lightning struck the monsters with pinpoint accuracy, exploding amidst the horde with a deafening roar. Some monsters were instantly charred black by the electricity, emitting a pungent odor, and collapsed to the ground convulsing.
Eric roared, "Come on, you ugly creatures!" and spurred his horse forward like a war god descending to earth. He brandished his longsword, the blade flashing with a cold light that intertwined with the eerie blue glow.
"Take this!" he roared, each swing of his sword sending a shower of blood flying, limbs and severed parts of the demons flying everywhere. His swordsmanship was incredibly fierce, repelling any approaching demons. One demon tried to ambush him from the side, but he whirled around and cleaved it in two with a single strike: "Trying to ambush me? You're still too green!"
Calvin calmly observed the battlefield. He called out to Elena beside him, "Elena, watch the left flank. I'll support you!" With that, he took out several talismans from his pocket, chanted some incantations, and threw the talismans at the horde of monsters.
"Barrier of Flames, rise!" The talismans ignited in the air, transforming into barriers of flame that blocked some of the demons' attacks while trapping others, causing them to struggle painfully within the flames. "Don't let them break through the defenses!"
Shen Ying's heart clenched the moment the monsters appeared, and cold sweat broke out on her palms. The monsters looked so ferocious and terrifying that she felt as if an invisible hand was tightly gripping her throat. She could clearly hear her own heart pounding violently, as if it were about to burst out of her chest.
But the moment her hand touched the longbow, a strange sense of familiarity washed over her. She quickly took the longbow from her shoulder and drew an arrow from her waist. Although a trace of fear still lingered in her eyes, her hands were no longer trembling. She silently encouraged herself: "Don't be afraid. Everyone is fighting, and so can I."
As she fired the first arrow, she gradually found her rhythm in battle. Drawing the bow, nocking the arrow, and releasing it—all in one fluid motion—the arrows shot towards the monsters like meteors. "Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!" Each arrow struck the monsters' vital points with pinpoint accuracy; some monsters were even pierced through the head and fell dead.
Her movements became agile, gliding lightly on horseback and dodging the monster's attacks. She focused intently on the monster's movements, gradually casting aside her fear; her world consisted only of her target and the bow in her hand. The bowstring twanged incessantly, her arrows never missing their mark, and her gaze grew increasingly resolute, like a burning flame.
While fiercely battling the monster, Adrian's gaze kept drifting towards Shen Ying's direction. When he saw a monster lunge towards Shen Ying's side, his heart tightened, and he shouted, "Shen Ying, watch out for your left!" With that, he spurred his horse towards Shen Ying, his sword flashing with sharp energy, repelling the monster.
Hearing Adrian's shout, Shen Ying quickly turned around and shot an arrow that pierced another demon that was attacking from behind. She nodded slightly to Adrian: "Thank you, Your Highness!"
Adrian smiled slightly at her and said, "Be careful." Then he turned back to the battle and continued attacking the other monsters.
The attendant Leon stayed close to the prince, his sword flashing amidst the monsters to shield him from attacks from the side. "Your Highness, focus on the battle, I'll take care of things!" Though his movements weren't as graceful as Eric's, each strike was steady, accurate, and ruthless, demonstrating perfect teamwork with the prince and ensuring his safety.
With everyone working together, the monster rampage was gradually quelled. The ground was littered with monster corpses and black blood, emitting a nauseating stench. The group was panting heavily, their faces covered in sweat and monster blood. Although they were slightly exhausted, their eyes were even more determined.
"Is everyone alright?" Adrian asked, looking around.
"It's nothing, Your Highness, just some lowly minions." Eric dusted himself off.
“We cannot stay,” Calvin cautioned.
