After leaving Erles with the expedition team, the spaceship cruised smoothly through the vast universe. Soft lights illuminated the command center, where Drake, wearing a hood that almost completely obscured his eyes, could only vaguely reveal his dark, star-like eyes. He sat there, lost in thought, gazing at the enormous star map, his hand gently caressing the yellowed ancient documents, as if trying to decipher the key to the mysterious galactic treasure from the blurred handwriting.

This was the scene that greeted Shen Ying when she arrived at the command room. She hesitated, wondering whether to interrupt Drake's thoughts. Drake, as if he had already sensed her arrival, spoke first: "Come here."

Upon hearing this, Shen Ying walked over. Drake's aura was too strong, and she felt a little uncomfortable. It was possible that the description of Drake in the game introduction and the evaluations of Drake she had learned about on the StarCraft website all described him as mysterious and unpredictable, cold and ruthless, intolerant of betrayal, and as powerful as a devil from hell. All of this made her subconsciously feel a little afraid of him.

Furthermore, she also has the mission to help the female lead rescue her kidnapped team members in the future, which is undoubtedly a betrayal of Drake. Although none of this has happened yet, she feels guilty.

"Captain, is something the matter?" Shen Ying asked.

"From now on, you'll stay by my side and follow my instructions," Drake said succinctly.

"!!!" Shen Ying, is there really such a good thing?

The surprise came so suddenly that Shen Ying quickly nodded, "Okay, Captain."

After that, Shen Ying officially became Drake's little shadow, following him wherever he went.

The following afternoon, after the meeting regarding the next exploration plan, Drake brought Shen Ying back to his office. Drake's office was spacious and bright. One entire wall was a huge intelligent light screen displaying a galaxy map. On the black metal desk, several small floating light screens were placed, and documents and ancient books were neatly arranged.

One side features a transparent cabinet made of a special material, containing some rare collectibles. Animated paintings on the wall depict wondrous scenes from interstellar space.

In the high-tech office, there was an incongruous little corner with a simple and hastily arranged desk and chair. It was a workstation specially arranged for Shen Ying so that Drake could come whenever he needed it.

Shen Ying went to make coffee for Drake. When she came in, she saw Drake holding a black metal box with the lid open, and he was looking at what was inside.

"Captain, here's your coffee." Shen Ying placed the coffee on the table and glanced at the box. She saw that it was a sapphire brooch, which seemed to be something Drake treasured. Judging from the oxidation of the metal, the brooch was quite old but had been well preserved.

“Hmm.” Drake noticed Shen Ying’s gaze, but he didn’t say anything, he just nodded.

Two days later, in the evening, the team members gathered again in the conference room to discuss their next move. Drake was still dressed in the same outfit, a hooded mask that covered everything except his dark eyes.

He pointed to a corner of the galaxy map and said seriously, "This area might hold the clues we're looking for." Everyone offered their opinions, and Tom said, "But it looks dangerous there; we need to be more prepared."

The alien team member Cruise, with its blue skin and large eyes, buzzed and said, "I think we can send a small probe to scout ahead first." Shen Ying diligently wrote down everyone's words.

Because they were searching for a mysterious galactic treasure, they would be embarking on a long voyage, so they would have two days to rest. After explaining the relevant matters, the spaceships dispersed after docking at the port.

Shen Ying felt quite lucky. She hadn't expected that the planet where Drake's expedition ship docked was the very one she lived on. This saved her the trouble of buying a separate ticket to return, which was incredibly expensive for someone as poor as her!

Back in her rented room, Shen Ying glanced across the street; the door was locked, so they'd probably gone out. Just as Shen Ying opened her own door to go into her room, the door behind her opened.

"You're back! You've been gone for quite a while this time," Zhang Wei's gentle voice rang out.

Shen Ying turned around and smiled, "Yes, mainly because I'm no longer in the scavenger team; I've joined an expedition team."

Zhang Wei looked at her with some concern: "What expedition team? Won't this make your future work even more dangerous?"

"It's alright. The expedition team I joined is pretty strong, so it should be relatively safe. I have a powerful figure protecting me." Shen Ying scratched her head.

"Heh." Zhang Wei suddenly chuckled, then seemed to realize his laughter was a bit abrupt, and quickly said, "Come to my place for dinner tonight, I accidentally bought a lot of things today."

Shen Ying was truly envious. He could actually buy so many things without even realizing it, while she always had to count on her fingers, wishing she could use one interstellar coin as two.

They were both poor, but there was still a difference, Shen Ying sighed.

Shen Ying couldn't resist the temptation of the food and nodded. In fact, she had already smelled the strong and domineering aroma of the food across from her. It was as if the food was intentionally reaching out its fingers and beckoning to Shen Ying.

That evening, Shen Ying arrived at Zhang Wei's house, where a sumptuous feast was laid out on the table. There was fragrant roasted interstellar beast meat, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, sizzling with oil; a vibrant, refreshing energy vegetable salad; and a large pot of steaming, nutritious soup, emitting a rich aroma.

Shen Ying's eyes lit up, and she swallowed hard: "Zhang Wei, you're amazing! Tell me, your main job isn't actually being a chef, is it?"

"Hehe, I'm glad you like it. Sit down and eat, or it'll get cold."

At Zhang Wei's invitation, Shen Ying disregarded her reserve and eagerly sat down, picking up her chopsticks and digging in. She ate mouthful after mouthful, her cheeks bulging, mumbling her praises: "Zhang Wei, your cooking is amazing! It's so delicious! Ahhh~ I'm so happy!"

Zhang Wei couldn't help but chuckle as he looked at her and said, "Eat slowly, don't choke, there's still plenty left. You're happy with this? You're so easily satisfied, you're so easy to be fooled..." The last part was almost a murmur.

"What are you searching for?" Shen Ying, who was showing off her food, didn't hear the second half of the sentence clearly and asked indistinctly.

"It's nothing, I just wanted to tell you to eat slowly. Don't choke," Zhang Wei replied.

As fate would have it, no sooner had Zhang Wei finished speaking than Shen Ying choked on a piece of meat. She pounded her chest, her face turning bright red.

Seeing this, Zhang Wei quickly got up, poured her a glass of water, and patted her back.

"Cough, cough, cough!"

Shen Ying, who had finally swallowed the meat, was still shaken. Her face flushed, and she said somewhat awkwardly, "I'm sorry, thank you. I must have scared you."

"You scared me, but thankfully you're alright. I was about to perform the Heimlich maneuver on you, but thankfully you swallowed it." Zhang Wei breathed a sigh of relief and chuckled as he patted the other person's head.

During the rest of the meal, Shen Ying became much more restrained, trying to chew slowly and carefully, but she still didn't miss out on the food on the table. Before long, she ate until her belly was round and full, leaning back in her chair with satisfaction and burping.

"I've never eaten such delicious food before, I'm so happy. The girl who marries you will be so lucky." Shen Ying said with a blissful expression.

Zhang Wei smiled gently and said, "I hope so."

After dinner, the two chatted for a while, sharing their experiences over the past few days. It turned out that Zhang Wei had also been looking for a job. Shen Ying didn't ask about his past, afraid of stirring up painful memories.

The two-day rest period passed quickly. After Shen Ying packed her things, she opened the door. At that moment, the door opposite her also opened.

"Good morning! Are we about to set off?" Zhang Wei asked with a gentle smile.

Shen Ying's eyes trembled. She seemed to see a fleeting, dazzling light in Zhang Wei; for a moment, she thought she was seeing an angel. Looking at him now, Zhang Wei's stunning good looks, perfect proportions, and indescribable elegance—wasn't he an angel on earth?

"Yes, we're about to leave. Are you going out to look for a job again today?" Shen Ying asked with a smile.

"Yes. I wish you all the best and a safe return." Zhang Wei looked at Shen Ying, his gentle eyes filled with sincere blessings.

"Thank you, you too! I wish you all the best!" Shen Ying smiled, feeling a little reluctant, knowing that she and he would most likely never see each other again.

Back on the expedition's spaceship, the ship set sail, heading towards the unknown galactic realm.
