After a busy day at work, Shen Ying, exhausted and feeling as heavy as if she were filled with lead, slowly got off the bus.

It was a sweltering summer evening, and the world outside the car seemed to be enveloped in a giant steamer.

The lingering heat of the evening, like a surging and overwhelming tide, enveloped her the moment she stepped out of the car.

The pleasant coolness inside the car contrasted sharply with the suffocating heat outside, like suddenly falling from a tranquil paradise into an unbearably hot inferno.

As soon as she got off the bus, the "clank" of the bus doors closing rang out behind her, followed by the roar of the engine starting up. The bus slowly drove away, bringing with it a gust of hot wind that rustled the leaves on the roadside leaves.

The streets were bustling with activity, and the honking of car horns rose and fell like a chaotic symphony.

Not far away, vendors were shouting at the top of their lungs: "Watermelons! Sweet and juicy watermelons!"

"Iced drinks, quench your thirst and cool you down!" The conversations of pedestrians and the cries of children were intertwined.

This sudden change in temperature was like a boulder thrown into the already restless lake of her heart, stirring up huge waves and making her even more anxious and uneasy, as if countless tiny flames were running rampant in her heart.

Her brows were furrowed, forming a deep frown, and she hurried and rushed toward home.

With each step she took, Shen Ying thought to herself, "Get home quickly, get home quickly, only home is cool."

Her mind was filled with the refreshing image of cool water spraying from the showerhead in her bathroom, hitting her body.

This awful weather and exhausting work are completely taking a toll on her.

She longed to rush home, plunge into the bathroom, and let the cool water wash over her from head to toe, washing away all her fatigue and heat so she could catch her breath and relax.

Shen Ying dragged her tired body into the residential area, her gaze wandering aimlessly. She inadvertently caught sight of an older woman not far away.

The middle-aged woman, dressed in simple clothes, was standing there chatting with someone nearby.

Not far behind the woman, a man stood quietly.

The man was quite tall and slender, and his dark trench coat made him look even more upright.

His bangs were a little long and drooped down, just covering his eyes, making it impossible to see the expression in his eyes, but inexplicably giving Shen Ying an indescribable feeling.

The moment Shen Ying's gaze met his, she saw his eyes lightly sweep over her, a fleeting, almost imperceptible, strange light flashing in his eyes.

Immediately afterwards, he moved slightly closer to the older woman. The movement was so natural that the woman did not show any unusual or surprised reaction.

Seeing this, Shen Ying secretly guessed that perhaps they were relatives. After all, in this seemingly ordinary neighborhood, such a scene was nothing to be surprised about.

However, a trace of doubt still involuntarily arose in Shen Ying's heart, like a ripple quietly spreading across a calm lake.

But at this moment, the longing to go home was like a powerful magnet, pulling her heart tightly.

That urgent feeling surged like a tidal wave, instantly drowning out any lingering doubts.

She subconsciously quickened her pace, eager to distance herself from them, as if getting away from this little scene that made her suspicious would allow her to return home quickly and immerse herself in her own peace and tranquility.

After a series of twists and turns, Shen Ying finally dragged her heavy steps into her home.

She couldn't wait to kick off her shoes and rush straight to the bathroom, already picturing the wonderful scene of warm water washing away her fatigue and heat on her skin.

She had just stepped into the bathroom, and before she could even take off her clothes, she reached out to adjust the water temperature when, in that instant, a strong, overwhelming feeling of palpitations, like a raging tsunami, suddenly struck her without warning.

This palpitation felt like an invisible and malicious hand, gripping her heart tightly with overwhelming force, kneading it wantonly.

Immediately afterwards, a wave of dizziness surged into my brain like a raging tide.

In an instant, her vision was as if shrouded in a thick fog, becoming blurry. The familiar bathroom scene was distorted and deformed in the fog until it disappeared completely.

Shen Ying's body began to sway instinctively, and she subconsciously reached out her hand, trying to find support.

The moment her palm touched the wall, she felt a cold and hard sensation that startled her.

She struggled to stay awake despite the dizziness that threatened to engulf her, and with difficulty opened her eyes. When she looked closely, she was so shocked that she gasped.

The once warm and familiar home has vanished without a trace, replaced by a strange white space that is completely unfamiliar and filled with an eerie atmosphere.

Shen Ying stood there, stunned, her eyes filled with fear and confusion, her mind going blank for a moment.

After a moment, she came to her senses and began to carefully explore her surroundings.

She reached out and slowly touched the surrounding walls. They were icy cold to the touch, with a peculiar feel, as if they were made of some extremely smooth and hard material, yet with a slight elasticity. She had never felt anything like it before.

She tapped the wall gently, but found the sound dull and weak, as if most of it had been absorbed by the peculiar material.

She then tried scratching the wall with her fingernail, but it didn't leave a single mark, which made her even more aware of the mystery and solidity of the space.

Shen Ying lifted her foot and lightly stomped the ground, but there was no sound as she had imagined. The entire space seemed to swallow the sound, becoming extremely silent.

She crouched down by the wall, carefully examining the junction between the floor and the wall, hoping to find a gap or something different, but to no avail.

She stood up and walked slowly along the wall, each step light and slow, her eyes constantly searching around, afraid of triggering some unknown mechanism.

As she walked, she suddenly remembered her cell phone and hurriedly took it out of her pocket, only to find that the phone had no signal and the time displayed on the screen was distorted.

Undeterred, she turned on her phone's flashlight and shone it around, but the pale light seemed so weak in the white space that it couldn't penetrate the vast whiteness around her.

Shen Ying shouted again, "Is anyone there? Where is this?" Her voice echoed in the enclosed space, but she received no response.

Her cries gradually turned into murmurs, an attempt to comfort herself.

Then, she slowly sat down against the wall, hugged her knees, stared intently ahead, and began to recall the details of her journey home, trying to find some clues to explain why she had suddenly found herself in this strange place.

Suddenly, a cold, mechanical voice boomed out of the silent white space without warning:
