She was startled, and only after seeing who it was did she give him a playful glare, saying, "You scared me to death."

Chi Moqing chuckled and pounced on her, pinning her beneath him. "What did you do to offend me that makes you so cowardly?"

"I didn't," Yan Zuozuo denied. She was a person of great principle; she would rather suffer a loss or be cheated than do anything to wrong others.

"Hmm." Chi Moqing raised an eyebrow. "I don't think so. You spend far more time on other people than on your husband. How dare you say you haven't wronged me?" As he spoke, Chi Moqing's hands on her body became unruly.

Yan Zuozuo was taken aback. So he was jealous?

While dodging his harassment, she said with amusement, "Stop it, you're acting like a child... hahaha... don't tickle me, go away... hahaha..."

"I won't scratch you, but you have to promise to put me first from now on, and that you can only spend all your time thinking about me," Chi Moqing said domineeringly.

When Chi's mother came out of the bedroom to get a drink of water, she heard intimate sounds coming from their room as she passed by. Her smile widened, and she forgot about her water, rushing back to her bedroom.

Mr. Chi was reading a book when he saw her come in excitedly and couldn't help but ask, "What TV series have you found that you like this time?"

Even though Mrs. Chi is over fifty, she acts like a twenty-something girl all day, loving to watch those ridiculously made-up idol dramas. He finds them incredibly boring, but he doesn't dare say anything and has to watch them with her. Sigh!

Mother Chi climbed onto the bed with a big smile, her face beaming. "This is much better than TV dramas. I hope it can jump to the part about having a grandson soon, then I won't watch TV dramas anymore."

Mrs. Chi was smug and rambled on. Mr. Chi looked at her, puzzled. "Didn't the TV show just show the two of them arguing yesterday? And now they're expecting a grandson? That's such a big leap!"

Mrs. Chi rolled her eyes in annoyance: "What TV series? It's that we're about to have a grandson."

Mr. Chi didn't react for a moment, while Mrs. Chi looked defeated and said with a mix of amusement and exasperation, "Mo Qing and Zuo Zuo, you're working so hard to make a baby, your grandson is definitely not far off."

He thought to himself with a smile, when he saw his mother, who was acting on impulse, walk outside again. "I'll go to the kitchen and see if there's anything nourishing. I'll give them something to eat tomorrow morning so our grandson can come out earlier."

Mr. Chi was taken aback. Was this something that could be cured by taking supplements? His lips twitched involuntarily, but when he thought of his grandson, he thought, "Yes, he should take supplements."

Yan Zuozuo felt a drowsy sensation as someone carried her to take a bath. The warm water immediately relieved a lot of her fatigue. It felt like there were also a pair of hands massaging her body, but she was so tired that she couldn't even open her eyes and didn't notice the gentle man behind her.

She didn't know how much time had passed when she was carried back to bed, and then she was embraced by a warm, comforting chest. And then, she had no memory of anything. It seemed like someone was talking to her, or perhaps she was dreaming.

Yan Zuozuo was completely drained by Chi Moqing last night and didn't get up until late morning. When she saw Chi's mother's suggestive gaze this morning, her face turned bright red. Chi Moqing was still grinning at her, and she wanted nothing more than to slap him.

"Are you hungry? I made some bird's nest porridge, I'll go get it for you right away." Mother Chi said as she walked towards the kitchen.

"Mom, I can do it myself, you don't need to bother." Yan Zuozuo quickly followed. She already felt bad for waking up late, so how could she let her mother-in-law serve her?

“Sit down, the kitchen smells too strong, it’s not suitable for your current situation,” said Mrs. Chi as she ladled out porridge.

Yan Zuozuo blinked, wondering what was going on with her. She looked at Chi Moqing with a puzzled expression, only to see him smiling like a cat that had stolen some food. It was just too strange.

Mrs. Chi said she had some errands to run and needed to go out today, so Chi Moqing went to see her off. Yan Zuozuo was bored at home alone, so she thought she'd go for a walk in the yard. Everyone was at work on Tuesday, so there weren't many people in the yard, except for a few elderly people chatting here and there.

Yan Zuozuo didn't know where to go. The courtyard was full of orderly soldiers, all with serious faces, which was frightening.

"Are you Mo Qing's wife?" Suddenly, a slightly aged voice came from behind her.

Yan Zuozuo was startled. Turning around, she saw a kind-faced old man standing behind her. He couldn't really be called an old man; he looked to be in his late fifties or sixties, but his eyes were sharp, and he was as energetic as someone in their forties or fifties.

She nodded blankly: "Yes, I am."

The old man looked her up and down, his eyes scrutinizing her. She wasn't particularly outstanding, but she gave off a gentle and warm feeling.

“I watched Mo Qing grow up. If you don’t mind, you can call me Uncle Cai.”

"Uncle Cai." Before Yan Zuozuo could speak, she heard a familiar voice behind her, "Long time no see, how have you been?"

Upon seeing Chi Moqing, Cai Yaren's face flashed with a complex expression, before he finally smiled and said, "Not bad. You haven't come to see me in a long time. I thought you had forgotten about Uncle Cai."

"How could that be? I was just about to bring Zuo Zuo to see you, I didn't expect to run into you so soon." Chi Moqing still had a refined smile on his face, but there was a hint of distance in his words.

Cai Yaren sighed and finally said, "You're a pretty good kid, very suitable for you. Come visit me sometime, it's been a long time since you played chess with me."

"Of course, I'll definitely come when I have time." Chi Moqing put his arm around Yan Zuozuo and said apologetically to Cai Yaren, "We have something to do, so we'll have to go now. We'll definitely visit Uncle Cai later."

Cai Yaren watched the two figures disappear into the distance and sighed heavily. After what had happened, how could he possibly expect Chi Moqing to accept Cai Qingqing without any reservations?

"Are you going back to work this afternoon, or are you going home to rest?" Chi Moqing asked.

Yan Zuozuo pursed her lips: "Let's go to work." Being home alone, she worried about overthinking things.

"Okay, let's go eat first, and I'll take you to work later."

Not long after Yan Zuozuo finished eating, she hadn't originally intended to eat anything. But then she suddenly remembered Chi Moqing's stomach problems and said, "I know a vegetarian restaurant that's pretty good. Let's have vegetarian food for lunch."

Chi Moqing nodded and drove into the vegetarian restaurant she had mentioned. It was crowded at lunchtime, and they waited a while before getting a seat. Although it took some time, the vegetarian food was well worth the wait.
