Exclusive Pampered Wife: My Wife Came to My Door
Chapter 26 Don't Steal My Meat
Yan Zuozuo was startled and struggled fiercely, "Qi Jiahui, what are you doing? Let go!"
Qi Jiahui remained silent, his face filled with anger, and he gripped Yan Zuozuo's hand even tighter.
"Qi Jiahui, are you crazy? This is in front of He Cangyuan's hospital. I told you to let go!" Yan Zuozuo was really angry. He was the one who abandoned her back then, and now he doesn't want to let go. He's the one who's pulling and tugging at her. What does he take her for?
Yan Zuozuo's loud shout attracted a crowd. Doctors were going in and out of the door, and they all gathered around to watch. Qi Jiahui finally realized how inappropriate his behavior was, and then he let go.
He glanced at the people around him and growled, "What are you looking at? Get out of the way!"
He closed his eyes for a moment before saying, "Let's find a place to talk."
"I have nothing to talk to you about," Yan Zuozuo said resolutely, then turned and left.
Qi Jiahui was furious and rushed over to hug her. But before he could even touch Yan Zuozuo, he was slammed to the ground with a thud by a powerful fist. "This is my wife, Mr. Qi, what do you want to do?"
Qi Jiahui was stunned, a flash of regret crossing his eyes. He must have gone mad, actually hugging Chi Moqing's woman in public. No, Yan Zuozuo wasn't Chi Moqing's woman, she was Qi Jiahui's woman!
He glared fiercely at Chi Moqing, his fists clenched tightly. He couldn't forget their laughter together, their romantic conversations about their dreams, her gentleness. He had wronged her, but all he wanted was success so he could give her a better life. He loved her, didn't want her to suffer with him, didn't want her to endure any hardship.
But why, while he was working hard to build a future for them both, did she get married so quietly? He was unwilling to accept it, unwilling to admit defeat; he believed that the person Yan Zuozuo loved most in her heart was still him!
"Are you alright?" Chi Moqing withdrew his angry glare at Qi Jiahui and looked at her gently.
Yan Zuozuo shook her head, but when she saw Chi Moqing, her nose suddenly twitched and she started to cry.
Chi Moqing gently wiped away the tears from the corners of her eyes, held her softly in his arms, and whispered, "It's okay, don't worry."
Yan Zuozuo buried her head in his chest, sniffed, and nodded. She was very grateful that Chi Moqing hadn't asked or said anything; he had simply appeared in time to give her the greatest comfort.
Chi Moqing glanced at Qi Jiahui one last time, then embraced Yan Zuozuo and prepared to leave. But Yan Zuozuo didn't move, staring fixedly at Qi Jiahui lying on the ground, speaking very slowly, word by word.
"Qi Jiahui, you were the one who let go back then, and you're the one who abandoned me. To put it bluntly, you're a heartless scoundrel. You left so easily before, without any regrets, and now you're clinging on, what are you trying to do? Do you think I'm a fool? To wait foolishly for a scumbag like you who betrayed our relationship? Let me tell you, you're dreaming! From the moment you abandoned me, we were never going to be together, not now, and certainly not in the future. Just give up on that idea!"
Yan Zuozuo finished speaking in one breath, her whole body trembling with anger. Chi Moqing remained silent, simply holding her tightly, giving her courage and comfort.
Qi Jiahui stared blankly at her, never expecting Yan Zuozuo to be so angry. He couldn't refute her words. He was the one who insisted on breaking up in the first place; what right did he have to demand she come back to him now?
But he was unwilling to accept it. From beginning to end, the only woman he truly loved was her, his one and only.
Yan Zuozuo felt very tired and leaned against Chi Moqing, saying, "Let's go back."
Chi Moqing put his arm around her waist and walked her into the car.
"Left left..."
Chi Moqing turned around, her face grim, and said, "Mr. Qi, please have some self-respect." After saying that, she and Yan Zuozuo got into the car.
Qi Jiahui watched their departing figures and slumped dejectedly on the ground.
Cai Keren, who had been watching the whole thing from behind a tree, recorded the scene, her cold smile deepening. She walked over, ignoring her own disheveled state, and reached out to pull Qi Jiahui, her beautiful eyes fixed on him with a captivating gaze.
Qi Jiahui snorted coldly, stood up, and turned to leave without even glancing at her. Cai Keren gritted her teeth in hatred, a sinister smile flashing in her eyes.
Along the way, Yan Zuozuo stared blankly out the window, and Chi Moqing didn't disturb her, but simply held her tightly with one hand.
He had always known about Yan Zuozuo and Qi Jiahui's relationship. Because of their romance, he had been secretly protecting her, until Qi Jiahui abandoned her…
He had always wanted her to be happy, even if the person who could bring her that happiness wasn't him. But now the situation was different; she was his wife. Seeing her heartbroken over a scumbag like Qi Jiahui made him feel heavy-hearted and indescribably sad.
Suddenly, he tightened his grip on her hand without her noticing. Yan Zuozuo let out a muffled cry of pain and turned to look at him.
Realizing his lapse in composure, Chi Moqing smiled apologetically, "If you're tired, take a nap."
Yan Zuozuo nodded, leaned back wearily in her seat, and slowly closed her eyes.
The car drove into the residential area. Chi Moqing leaned back in his seat and looked at Yan Zuozuo. He knew she wasn't asleep; her eyes kept darting around. He didn't call her, but simply picked her up gently and carried her home.
Chi Moqing placed her on the bed and, noticing her wrists were red from being gripped, got up to get a hot towel to apply to them. Feeling his gentle touch, tears welled up in Yan Zuozuo's eyes.
Her tears fell onto the back of his hand, like scalding lava, burning not only his hand but also his heart.
He didn't wake her, but gently wiped away the increasing tears on her face and cleaned her fingers one by one.
Yan Zuozuo finally opened her eyes and looked up at him. Chi Moqing smiled but didn't say anything, and Yan Zuozuo's eyes welled up with even more tears.
Chi Moqing's phone rang. He glanced at it, then went to the living room to answer it. It sounded like He Cangyuan was calling, apologizing profusely. Chi Moqing's voice was cold, and even though he tried to lower it, Yan Zuozuo could still hear it.
“My wife is severely frightened, and I don’t want you to bother her anymore. I also hope Dean He will tell Mr. Qi to take care of himself. That’s all, I have other things to do.”
Chi Moqing hung up the phone and stood alone in front of the French windows for a long time, the afterglow of the setting sun stretching his lonely shadow long.
Yan Zuozuo lay on the bed, staring at the ceiling with her eyes open. Had she simply failed to see Qi Jiahui's true colors all along, or had things simply changed, and he was no longer the person he used to be?
In her heart, Qi Jiahui had always been gentle and refined, always with a smile on his face, sunny and considerate. But now, he was greedy, selfish, and despicable, having long since stripped away the person he once was, making him unrecognizable.
She raised her fingers to look at them; they were indeed clean. Chi Moqing had wiped each one clean for her, just as he had gently and tenderly soothed her wounds. He hadn't asked anything, and she didn't know how to explain.
Hearing Chi Moqing push open the door and enter, she closed her eyes again. Chi Moqing sighed, took his pajamas, and went into the bathroom. Yan Zuozuo didn't move an inch until he came out.
Chi Moqing turned off the lights and went to sleep, holding her in his arms as usual, letting her press against his chest. His chin rested on the top of her head, deeply inhaling her pleasant scent.
Yan Zuozuo instinctively moved closer to him, and Chi Moqing's tightly furrowed brows finally relaxed. He put his arm around her waist, placed a kiss on her head, and his deep voice slowly rang out, "Sleep."
Yan Zuozuo's hand was clasped tightly with his, and soon she fell asleep, her breathing long and even. Chi Moqing smiled slightly, held her, and they both fell into a deep sleep.
When Yan Zuozuo woke up the next day, Chi Moqing was no longer in bed. She groggily opened her eyes, put on her slippers, and went to the balcony. Sure enough, she saw Chi Moqing jogging. Standing on the balcony and looking at him, Chi Moqing, dressed in sportswear, seemed to have suddenly become much younger, like a college student who had just entered the workforce.
Whether it was a telepathic connection or not, Chi Moqing glanced at the balcony. Perhaps because the floor was too high, he couldn't see clearly, but a smile appeared on his lips.
About forty minutes later, Chi Moqing returned home and saw Yan Zuozuo busy in the kitchen. She seemed to have accidentally burned her hand, subconsciously touching her earlobe. She was wearing pajamas in the kitchen, and the sunlight shone on her; Chi Moqing was momentarily mesmerized.
He walked into the kitchen without making a sound and watched her place a golden fried egg on the toasted bread, then add a layer of lettuce, then ham, until it was all arranged, and then he nodded in satisfaction.
She turned around, just about to place the breakfast on the table, when she saw Chi Moqing's doting smile. She was taken aback. "When did you get back?" She hadn't even heard him.
Chi Moqing took the plate from her and walked towards the dining table, saying, "I just got back."
Yan Zuozuo pursed her lips, clearly not believing it. She poured two bags of milk into a bowl, gave him one, and saw that he didn't even wash his hands, childishly eating a slice of ham first.
“You…” Her eyes widened, somewhat surprised.
Chi Moqing looked at her amusedly: "Eat quickly, or I'll eat your ham too." As he spoke, he reached out to grab it.
Yan Zuozuo immediately picked up the plate and put it in her mouth: "If you eat, I'll cut more for you. Don't you dare take mine."
Ignoring her protests, Chi Moqing pounced on her. Yan Zuozuo gasped, clutching her breakfast. But to her surprise, the next second Chi Moqing pressed his greasy lips against hers, giving her no chance to refuse, and began to dance with her.
Yan Zuozuo stood there, stunned, letting him kiss her. The taste of ham from his mouth lingered between them. She forgot to breathe, feeling as if her brain was deprived of oxygen, as if she were about to faint.
Chi Moqing released her lips with a half-smile, pinched her rosy cheeks, and his smile deepened. "Were you too engrossed in your work and couldn't breathe?"
With a bang, Yan Zuozuo felt that her face was sure to bleed.
While she was still stunned, Chi Moqing kissed her several times on the cheek before going to take a shower. Yan Zuozuo, holding the plate, remained in a daze for a long time. Only when Chi Moqing's figure disappeared into the bathroom did she realize that she had been ambushed again.
Ah, bad guy!
