Exclusive Pampered Wife: My Wife Came to My Door

Chapter 101 Mother-in-Law is Mighty

Yan Zuozuo turned her head away in disgust and pushed him away. "No need. I can tell you right now, give up on that idea!"

Qi Jiahui sneered: "Don't be so sure. Wait until Chi Moqing has nothing left before you say that."

Yan Zuozuo ignored him, increasingly regretting the time she had spent with him back then. She must have been blind to have been hurt by someone like him.

"Don't you want to know who's trying to bring down Chi Moqing?" Qi Jiahui looked at her with a sneer. Yan Zuozuo pursed her lips and remained silent. He continued, "As long as He Cangyuan can bring down Chi Moqing, Cai Yaren will pay off the equipment costs for him. If you're willing to come back to me, I can stop all their conspiracies."

Yan Zuozuo frowned, her mind filled with thoughts of what despicable and shameless means those people would use to frame Chi Moqing. Qi Jiahui, however, mistakenly thought she was hesitating and looked at her coldly, saying, "Think it over carefully, and call me when the time comes."

Yan Zuozuo raised her eyes, looking at Qi Jiahui with a half-smile. When did he become so arrogant? It was as if the earth wouldn't turn without him. She took a deep breath, just about to speak, but someone beat her to it.

"I advise you to give up on that idea. Zuo Zuo is Mo Qing's wife. You'll never be able to break them up in this lifetime." Chi's mother had returned sometime earlier and had clearly overheard their conversation. She stormed in, her face full of disdain.

"Mom." Yan Zuozuo looked at her in surprise. Chi's mother walked to her side and gestured for her to sit down and ignore her.

Qi Jiahui's face darkened, and he asked unhappily, "And who are you?"

"Who I am is none of your business. Are you out of your mind? Didn't you hear Zuo Zuo tell you to get lost? I'm warning you, Zuo Zuo is a member of the Chi family. If you're thinking of making a move on her, you'd better be reincarnated in your next life."

"You!" Qi Jiahui's face turned ashen as he glared fiercely at Chi's mother, his fists clenched tightly.

"What do you mean, 'what do you mean, 'what do you mean, 'what do you mean, 'what do you mean, 'what do you think you are,' you think everyone revolves around you? Don't you even look in the mirror and see how shameful you are?'" Mother Chi said disdainfully. "A man like you who only knows how to use women to climb the social ladder has the nerve to stand here. Why don't you just find a place to drown yourself?"

"You..." Qi Jiahui was speechless, choked by Chi's mother. Veins bulged on his forehead as he glared at her, his face dark and resentful. After a long while, he finally gritted his teeth and said, "You all just wait, you'll regret this one day!"

"Whether we regret it or not is none of your business. Who do you think you are? You're not qualified to challenge the Chi family! Come on, I have to take care of my daughter-in-law and grandson. I can't be bothered to talk to a scoundrel like you. I'm warning you, don't ever show your face in front of Zuo Zuo again. It's unpleasant to look at you." Chi's mother didn't give Qi Jiahui a kind look. She turned to Yan Zuo Zuo and said with a gentle smile, "The driver is outside. Let's go home."

Yan Zuozuo nodded, couldn't help but chuckle softly, and took Chi's mother's arm, saying, "Thank you, Mom."

Zhang Ma snapped out of her daze, grabbed her luggage, and quickly followed. They had barely stepped out of the ward when they saw He Xinrui, who had come looking for Qi Jiahui. Seeing Yan Zuozuo's happy expression, He Xinrui's anger flared, and she yelled at them, "Yan Zuozuo, you stop right there! Have you no shame? You're trying to seduce my husband while you're with another man!" She then tried to hit Yan Zuozuo.

Mrs. Chi was displeased and shoved her hard, saying contemptuously, "Where did this mad dog come from? Did you forget to get your rabies vaccine? Running around biting people everywhere, do you have any manners at all? I'm warning you, my daughter-in-law is pregnant. If anything happens to her, I'll tear you apart!"

"Did I say something wrong? She's seducing my man, a vixen!" He Xinrui shouted fiercely.

Chi's mother glanced at He Xinrui and said with feigned surprise, "So you're the wife of that scumbag in there. As the old saying goes, birds of a feather flock together. You two really made the right choice in getting married; you're a perfect match."

"What do you mean?" He Xinrui said angrily.

Chi's mother gave her a disdainful look, and was about to speak when she heard Yan Zuozuo interject, "Don't you even understand? Scumbag and bitch, a match made in heaven. Didn't you go to school?"

"Yan Zuozuo, how dare you insult me?" He Xinrui was furious and wanted to hit him.

Chi's mother stepped in front of her: "So what if I scolded you? Try touching a hair on my daughter-in-law's head, you ill-mannered thing."

"you!"

"What do you mean, 'you'? Do you really think the Chi family is weak and easy to bully? Just some random Tom, Dick, or Harry thinks they can come and cause trouble? If you want to come and make a scene again, go home and look in the mirror first. See if your disgusting appearance is suitable for this place." After saying that, Chi's mother pulled Yan Zuozuo away.

He Xinrui was unconvinced and went forward to grab Yan Zuozuo's hair, but was immediately restrained by security guards who rushed over. "Miss, this is a hospital. If you cause any more trouble, we will have to ask you to leave."

"Let go of me! I told you to let go! Do you know who I am? Let go!" No matter how much He Xinrui shouted, she was still taken away by the security guards. From beginning to end, Qi Jiahui did not come out to help her. To Qi Jiahui, this woman had no further use and was not worth his flattery.

Chi's mother overheard almost the entire conversation between Qi Jiahui and Yan Zuozuo. Good heavens, he abandoned Zuozuo to climb the social ladder, and now he has the nerve to come here and threaten and coerce her? He's utterly shameless. So, without thinking, she rushed over and launched into a tirade.

Mrs. Chi was a straightforward person who didn't cause trouble, but she also wouldn't tolerate being wronged. If you don't provoke me, we can all live in peace; if you want to throw a tantrum, then do it head-on. Not looking for trouble, but not being afraid of trouble—that was Mrs. Chi's consistent principle.

Yan Zuozuo noticed that Qi Jiahui, who had initially been in a bad mood, seemed to have improved after Chi's mother's outburst. She leaned against Chi's mother and said with a smile, "Mom is the best."

Chi's mother turned her head and looked at her with amusement. "Is that all? Next time they bother you, I'll set the dogs on them." After thinking for a moment, Chi's mother said, "I'll buy two Tibetan mastiffs tomorrow and scare them to death."

Yan Zuozuo giggled, and Zhang Ma next to her laughed out loud as well.

Chi's mother originally wanted Yan Zuozuo to go back with her, but Yan Zuozuo politely declined. If she moved in, Chi Moqing would have to travel back and forth again, and he had already been working hard enough lately; she couldn't bear to add to his burden. She already felt guilty for not being able to help him, so how could she cause him any more trouble?

Mrs. Chi naturally understood her thoughts. She had been through similar experiences herself, and Chi Moqing was her son; how could she not feel sorry for him? Besides, with Aunt Yan and Aunt Zhang taking care of things here, she felt at ease.

During the meal, she said to Yan's mother with embarrassment, "Look, my Moqing has made Zuo Zuo suffer, and you have to take care of him. I feel really bad."

Mrs. Yan smiled and said, "Zuo Zuo is my daughter, so it's only right that we do this. You're too kind, Mother-in-law."

"Alright, I'll leave Zuo Zuo to you. I'll come over and visit when I have time," Mrs. Chi said with a smile.

"Alright, alright, you're getting on in years, don't keep running back and forth. If you really want to see them, just have Mo Qing drive back to visit you on the weekend, it's their duty as children."

Chi's mother and Yan's mother get along very well. Even after Yan Zuozuo has eaten and fallen asleep, the two mothers still chat happily.

When Yan Zuozuo woke up, it was already past five in the afternoon. She scratched her head, annoyed to find that she was sleeping more and more. When she came out of the bedroom, she saw her mother and Zhang Ma busy in the kitchen; Chi's mother had already gone home.

Seeing her come out, Mother Yan smiled and said, "You're awake. Are you hungry? I just cooked some porridge, let me serve you a bowl first."

Yan Zuozuo shook her head: "I ate too much at noon, I'm not hungry." After a pause, she said, "Mom, I'm going downstairs for a walk." The doctor said that walking more is good for pregnant women and fetuses, and she needs to exercise from time to time.

Yan's mother quickly washed her hands: "I'll go downstairs with you."

Yan Zuozuo originally intended to refuse, but then she thought that it had been a while since she had a heart-to-heart talk with her mother, so she decided to take this opportunity to have a good chat with her mother.

As Yan Zuozuo and her mother walked in the courtyard of the residential area, they heard Yan's mother sigh and say, "Looking back, I was also at fault for what happened back then. If I hadn't borrowed money from your Uncle Mu, none of this would have happened."

Yan Zuozuo was taken aback, surprised that her mother had brought up the matter on her own initiative.

“Back then, when He Cangyuan left, he lied to me and said he needed a lot of money to do business. So I borrowed money from my relatives. But he ran off with another woman and those people came to my door every day demanding repayment. I had no choice but to borrow money from your Uncle Mu. But then some people exaggerated the story and spread it in a very bad way, causing your Uncle Mu’s wife to misunderstand.”

Yan Zuozuo was surprised by this, and asked curiously, "You and Uncle Mu have known each other for a long time?"

“Yes, back then your Uncle Mu’s factory was still very small, and I worked as his secretary. He Cangyuan used all the money I borrowed to please other women, and when he ran out of money, he would come back to me for more, but I refused him. He actually went to your Uncle Mu’s wife and talked nonsense. Your Uncle Mu’s wife was already in a bad mental state, and he stimulated her to the point of having a mental breakdown, and she ended up committing suicide.”

Speaking of what happened back then, a hint of guilt flashed in Yan's mother's eyes. "I didn't dare to tell you about this before because I was afraid you would look down on me. After all, your Uncle Mu's wife's death was indirectly related to me. But now I've figured it out. Rather than letting He Cangyuan talk nonsense to you, I'd rather tell you directly so he won't threaten you anymore."

Listening to her mother's words, Yan Zuozuo bit her lip and whispered, "Mom, I'm sorry, I shouldn't have doubted you before."

When He Cangyuan told her that Yan's mother had been a third party in their marriage and had caused the death of Mu Tianyang's wife, she almost believed it. Fortunately, she wasn't misled, otherwise she might have gotten herself into serious trouble.

"Silly child, it's all my fault for not explaining things clearly to you. Let's just let this matter go, don't take it to heart," said Yan's mother, patting her hand.

Yan Zuozuo smiled and said, "I understand."

Yan's mother and Yan Zuozuo strolled around the lawn for a while. When they were about to head back, they heard an argument in front of them. Yan Zuozuo wasn't a person who liked crowds and planned to go straight home with Yan's mother. But suddenly, she saw Qi Jiahui get out of a Land Rover and stride angrily forward. As the crowd parted, she saw two women wrestling. One of the women was Cai Keren, and the other was Qi Jiahui's wife, He Xinrui.

Yan Zuozuo was stunned. She didn't expect He Xinrui to be so strong. She had just argued with her in the morning and came to fight Cai Keren in the afternoon. She was truly a heroine.

The two women were fighting fiercely, with He Xinrui hurling insults and profanities, mostly calling her a vixen, a mistress, and a worthless slut. Yan Zuozuo frowned. She wondered if this woman had ever considered that she herself had done such things before, and how dare she use such vulgar language to insult others now?

Yan's mother didn't get a clear look at Qi Jiahui, but seeing that Yan Zuozuo wasn't leaving, she asked, "Do you know him?"
