early morning.

When Shen Feiwan woke up, the bed next to her was empty.

She reached out and touched the sheets; they were slightly cool, indicating that Bo Junxing had been gone for a long time.

"Bo Junxing?" she called out, but there was no answer.

Shen Feiwan frowned, threw back the covers, and got out of bed. She searched the entire apartment—the living room, the kitchen, the study—but couldn't find him.

This isn't right.

Bo Junxing was still wearing an electronic ankle bracelet, which restricted his movement and made it impossible for him to leave without permission.

Just as she was about to make a call, she suddenly noticed that the bathroom door was ajar and there seemed to be something inside.

She pushed open the door and found a pure white envelope on the sink.

Shen Feiwan picked up the envelope, her fingertips touching the hard card inside—a room key.

Turning to the back of the envelope, there was a line of small writing in pen: "Waiting for you at 12 noon."

This is Bo Junxing's handwriting.

-

Grand Hotel, penthouse suite.

Shen Feiwan swiped her card and pushed open the door.

Inside the room, the curtains were half-drawn, and the outline of the entire city could be seen through the floor-to-ceiling windows.

Bo Junxing stood by the window, and upon hearing the noise, slowly turned around.

He was wearing a well-fitting black suit and a tie that was tied meticulously, as if he were going to attend some important occasion.

"You've come." His voice was deep, and his eyes were smiling.

Shen Feiwan stood there, stunned. "...What is this?"

“I’ve applied for permission to leave the area.” Bo Jun walked closer, his fingertips gently brushing her cheek. “Only for today.”

Bo Junxing took her hand and led her to the bedside. "Today belongs to us alone."

-

Afternoon sunlight streamed in through the gaps in the curtains, falling on the two of them.

Shen Feiwan was pinned down on the soft mattress by Bo Junxing. His kisses slid from her brow to her collarbone, and his warm breath sprayed on her skin, arousing a slight shiver.

“Bo Junxing…” she whispered his name, her fingers running through his hair.

"Hmm?" he mumbled in response, his lips lingering on her neck, leaving faint red marks.

Shen Feiwan could feel his restrained strength; even though his breathing was erratic, he remained gentle.

"Don't hold back." She cupped his face and looked into his dark eyes. "There are no surveillance cameras or eavesdropping today... just the two of us."

Bo Junxing's Adam's apple bobbed, finally letting go of the last bit of restraint.

His hand traced her waistline, his fingertips burning hot as he explored her skin inch by inch. Shen Feiwan tilted her head back, feeling his touch, which burned like a flame from the inside out.

Sunlight danced on them, gilding their overlapping shadows with a golden edge.

Afterwards, Shen Feiwan lazily nestled in Bo Junxing's arms, drawing circles on his chest with her fingertips.

"Are you hungry?" he asked in a low voice, his voice still hoarse.

"I'm okay, I want to take a nap first."

Bo Junxing chuckled and pinched her waist. "I've booked a restaurant for tonight."

Shen Feiwan looked up. "A candlelight dinner?"

"Ah."

-

As night falls, the city lights twinkle beneath your feet.

Bo Junxing and Shen Feiwan sat by the window, their faces illuminated by the candlelight.

The waiter brought the juice, and Bo Junxing raised his glass and gently touched hers.

"What are we paying respects to?" Shen Feiwan asked.

Bo Junxing looked at her, his eyes deep and serious. "Respect for freedom."

Shen Feiwan smiled, tilted her head back, and took a sip.

The liquor slid down my throat, carrying a slightly bitter sweetness.

Bo Junxing suddenly reached out and brushed his thumb across the corner of her lips. "You got some."

Shen Feiwan raised an eyebrow and deliberately licked her lips. "Where?"

Bo Junxing's eyes darkened, and he leaned over to kiss her lips.

"here."

On the way back, Shen Feiwan leaned on Bo Junxing's shoulder, feeling drowsy.

Bo Junxing gently pulled her coat tighter and asked in a low voice, "Are you tired?"

"Mmm," she mumbled in response, "but I'm very happy."

Bo Junxing lowered his head and kissed the top of her head. "Go to sleep. I'll wake you when we get home."

Shen Feiwan closed her eyes, a slight smile playing on her lips.

This was the freest day they had ever had since they were placed under surveillance.
