This scoundrel is a bit of a swordsman.

Chapter 26 A Mysterious World of Black and White

The sudden turn of events startled the girl. When she looked at Xiao Xingchen again, the strange, distorted figure under the light had vanished.

A dazzling light filled Xiao Xingchen's vision, so much so that he couldn't even open his eyes. As the light faded, he felt tens of thousands of swords piercing his body simultaneously, pinning the poison within him to the ground.

He felt dizzy and disoriented, as if a violent tearing force was ripping his body apart. Fortunately, this tearing only lasted a moment before the golden dragon of the earth veins surged forward and swallowed the poison of destiny.

As the poison of destiny was swallowed, his body felt as if it had been freed from shackles, suddenly becoming much lighter. Then, the power from the herbs instantly spread throughout his body, beginning to repair his riddled body.

Xiao Xingchen's tense body gradually relaxed, and he finally had time to observe the changing scenery around him.

"here it is..?"

His eyes widened in disbelief. The girl and the tiger cub had vanished, and the hill had disappeared as well, replaced by a deep, quiet forest, with ancient trees standing tall, their branches and leaves so dense they blocked out the sun.

A stream flowed gently nearby, its clear waters creating a tranquil scene before him.

He was completely bewildered, not knowing what had happened or how he had ended up in this strange place.

"This is incredibly bizarre. Ever since I transmigrated, everything has been destroying my worldview. Could this be my great opportunity?"

He couldn't help but guess that Zhang Wuji learned the Nine Yang Manual after falling off a cliff, and Yang Guo learned the Xuan Tie Heavy Sword after falling down. He was now experiencing something similar to them. If he didn't get some kind of lucky encounter, it would be a real shame to have such an absurd experience.

With a nervous heart, he stepped forward, his eyes scanning his surroundings, when suddenly his gaze sharpened.

"Young lady, where is this place?"

Beneath the large tree ahead, that familiar figure slowly appeared—it was the mute girl.

She was completely different from before; her coarse clothes had been replaced by a luxurious blue robe. Her slender figure leaned against a tree trunk, staring at Xiao Xingchen with amusement.

"Girl, where's the little tiger?"

He approached directly in this direction, completely unaware that the girl had lost some of her ethereal aura and gained some invisible black energy.

"Who are you exactly?"

The girl suddenly spoke, which startled Xiao Xingchen, but then a look of joy appeared on his face.

"So the girl can talk,"

"First, answer me, who exactly are you?"

At this moment, a faint rune was flashing between the girl's eyebrows, exuding an indescribable mystery. Upon witnessing this, Xiao Xingchen was momentarily speechless.

He quickly turned his head away from the rune, which made him feel much better.

"My name is Xiao Xingchen,"

"from where?"

Xiao Xingchen remained silent for a moment, unsure how to answer the question. From another world? That seemed absurd.

From Nanling? That makes sense. By then, Xiao Jianren's true identity will definitely not be from Nanling. The poison of destiny indirectly suggests that his biological parents were both people with great destiny.

"Nanling, the Xiao family." He ultimately chose this identity; it was the one most likely to be believed.

"A descendant of the Sword Immortal Xiao?" the girl continued.

"Xiao Jianxian has no descendants; I am merely Xiao Xingchen."

The girl in blue smiled slightly upon hearing this answer, seemingly finding the matter somewhat interesting.

She glanced at Xiao Xingchen again, then turned away.

"Come with me. I never expected that you would be the one to open this door."

"Where is this? Who are you? And aren't you mute?" Xiao Xingchen quickly caught up; he had so many questions to ask. This was all too amazing.

But the girl ignored her and headed deeper into the area, while a sentence drifted through the air at the same time.

"Hurry up and catch up, or you won't be able to get back."

Xiao Xingchen had no suspicions. He was currently in a "laissez-faire" mode; if he couldn't go back, so be it. Anyway, he was now a wanderer, and as long as he was alive, he didn't care where he was thrown.

He didn't have time to ask whether the poison affecting his luck had been cured. In any case, the torn flesh had healed, and he could even feel that much of the medicinal power hadn't fully taken effect. The herbs the girl had picked were incredibly potent, practically curing all the hidden dangers in his body.

This made him completely trust the girl's words; if such a person wanted to harm him, he would have died long ago.

Following the girl as she weaved through the trees, until they reached the edge of a cliff, at which point she stopped.

"Young lady, you still haven't told me your name?"

"Huh? This is it?"

Upon seeing the scene below the cliff, Xiao Xingchen exclaimed in disbelief. On his side, the cliff was a vibrant tapestry of green trees and blooming flowers, a veritable paradise. The other side, however, was deathly silent, gloomy, and filled with an unsettling atmosphere. Everywhere he looked, there were ruins, scattered with broken weapons and battle flags, suggesting an unimaginable battle had taken place there.

This great battle turned the world into a scorched wasteland, comparable to a nuclear explosion, even turning the sky black.

In this world, so divided into black and white, for some reason, Xiao Xingchen felt that something was missing.

The girl followed, arriving at the cliff edge. Her entire demeanor changed drastically; with a single step off the cliff, her blue robes instantly turned black, and wisps of black energy rose from beneath her feet, making her appear like a demon god.

"This is a battlefield,"

"Yes, that makes sense. A lot of people have died."

"Over there, there's a sword. Go try pulling it out," the girl in black pointed to the center of the battlefield, where a tattered, blood-stained battle flag lay, and a long-rotted broken sword was stuck in the ground.

This put Xiao Xingchen in a difficult position; he hesitated.

"What? You don't want to go? Let me tell you, that sword belongs to the Heavenly Sword. If you draw it, it will be the greatest opportunity of your life," the girl in black said, her gentleness replaced by a firmness and unquestionable authority.

"That's not true at all, I have my own difficulties too,"

Xiao Xingchen glanced speechlessly at the bottomless cliff. It wasn't that he didn't want to go, it was that he really couldn't go down. If he jumped, he would be smashed into a bloody pulp, leaving not even a trace.

"It was my oversight; you're not a cultivator," the girl said with a smirk and a wave of her hand.

Xiao Xingchen was about to ask what a cultivator was when he felt his body lighten, and he was thrown out, falling in a parabolic arc into the distance.

"If you draw your sword, you can return safely; if you can't, you'll have to stay inside and keep company with this yellow sand."

"Girl, you can't do this,"

Xiao Xingchen couldn't understand it at all. All he wanted was a full meal, so why did he encounter people who were all more and more abnormal than the last?
