Bai Mengfei slowly opened the car door and got out.

The moment they landed, they heard the nobody coldly remark, "If you want to know the truth, go find it yourself!"

Bai Mengfei did not respond, silently watching him leave. After he finished speaking, she said nothing more, started the car, and drove away in a cloud of dust.

In the dead of night, in complete silence, Bai Mengfei walked alone to the fountain, quietly waiting for Zhao Fei and the others. During this long wait, her thoughts drifted involuntarily to that mysterious little man, secretly wondering what untold stories lay hidden beneath his cold exterior.

Ten minutes later, Zhao Fei and his team finally arrived.

"Could we not talk about this for now?" Bai Mengfei pleaded helplessly.

In a short while, a lifelike portrait was completed. Bai Mengfei handed the painting to Zhao Fei and said, "This is exactly what he looks like."

Zhao Fei photographed the portrait and entered it into the computer for verification. They quickly found the man's criminal record. It turned out that the man's name was Li Ming, an online author. He had been sued for copyright infringement, not only paying 100,000 yuan in compensation but also serving three years in prison.

"Copyright infringement?" A sudden realization dawned on Bai Mengfei's mind, instantly connecting all the clues. "I finally understand why he killed that writer! The real culprit in copyright infringement and piracy should be that famous writer, not him!"

"I understand! So he killed the writer in his own way, according to the scene he wrote back then," Zhao Fei analyzed, following her train of thought.

Bai Mengfei nodded, frowned slightly, and continued her analysis: "Also, the reason his girlfriend left him was probably because he went to jail."

After hearing this, Zhao Fei couldn't help but sigh: "So it seems he's not that kind of vicious person. But why did Commander Jiang describe it so terrifyingly, scaring us half to death?"

Bai Mengfei shook her head, the scene of Jiang Shuai leaving flashing through her mind. She suddenly realized that perhaps finding Jiang Shuai could rescue Xiang Yuntian and Officer Wang. She guessed that Jiang Shuai might know Li Ming, or even be his good friend, and was secretly helping Li Ming.

So, Bai Mengfei dialed Jiang Shuai's number without hesitation, and the two agreed to meet at a coffee shop late at night.

After Jiang Shuai arrived, Bai Mengfei cut straight to the point: "You were involved in the case of the writer's murder in the hospital, weren't you?"

Upon hearing this, Jiang Shuai visibly panicked, and his smile froze. "What are you talking about?"

"I'll ask you one more time, you know quite a bit about the inside story of the writer's murder at the hospital, don't you?" Bai Mengfei pressed on relentlessly.

“Yes,” Bai Mengfei answered affirmatively, then demanded seriously, “Make him release Xiang Yuntian and Wang Tian immediately. It’s not too late to turn back now; make him pull back from the brink as soon as possible.”

"There's no going back," Jiang Shuai said softly, a hint of helplessness in his voice.

Jiang Shuai hesitated for a while before slowly saying, "Because he and I are not just friends, he also taught me." As he finished speaking, his voice grew softer and softer until it was almost inaudible.

"He's your friend, but what about me and Xiang Yuntian? Do you even consider us friends? You actually let him harm us!"

"No!" Jiang Shuai quickly raised his head and explained, "Actually, he never intended to hurt you when he came to you. On the contrary, he wanted your help, do you understand?"

"Get our help? Where are Xiang Yuntian and Wang Tian now?" Bai Mengfei pressed.

"When will Xiang Yuntian and the others be able to return?"
