Quick Transmigration: The Villainous Female Supporting Character Became the Male Lead's Beloved

Chapter 20 The Villainous Female Supporting Character in Campus Novels 20

The infirmary was filled with the smell of evaporating disinfectant. A beautiful young girl with delicate features lay on the hospital bed, an IV drip attached to her slender, bony hand. Her disheveled appearance was tinged with a sickly beauty.

"She has a very high fever and is not fit to continue attending classes. I'll issue a certificate so she can take leave and go home to rest," the school doctor said seriously, sitting behind his desk.

Shen Changsu stared at Ni Qing casually, his eyes filled with an inscrutable emotion but showing no sign of worry. Hearing this, he simply said, "I'm just responsible for delivering it. You can talk to her about the rest. I'll be going now."

After saying that, he left the school clinic without looking back.

Just moments after he left, the girl's long, dark, curled eyelashes trembled slightly, and her eyes fell upon the blinding white ceiling.

She had been awake for a while, but she didn't know how to interact with the male lead, so she simply went back to sleep.

"Student, if you're not feeling well, you should ask for leave immediately. You can't push yourself, understand?" The school doctor wrote out a leave slip without saying a word.

Ni Qing accepted the leave slip, thanked him, and waited until everything was finished before leaving. The bell for the last class had already rung, and she didn't want to go back to the classroom, so she headed straight for the school gate.

Song Qin stood smiling at the school gate, seemingly waiting for someone. She didn't pay any attention to her, but just as they brushed past each other, she heard Song Qin's smug voice.

"Student Ni, you have some impressive skills."

Ni Qing glanced at her out of the corner of her eye, her lips slightly parted, which looked a little better: "You flatter me, good classmate Song Zi."

The moment the voice faded, the glamorous girl froze, almost in disbelief, yet feigning composure: "Who are you calling?" She bit her lip hard, her earlier smugness vanishing completely.

How did Ni Qing discover that she was Song Zihao?

The other person smiled brightly, but with a hint of apology: "Sorry, I called you by the wrong name. You look a bit like one of my former classmates, and I just called you that."

Song Zihao certainly didn't believe it, but she couldn't expose it right now, so she could only let it go. After Ni Qing's accidental slip of the tongue, she definitely wouldn't appear in front of her again anytime soon.

Ni Qing smiled slightly, her previously gloomy mood improving considerably. She hadn't walked far when another aged voice rang out.

"Miss Ni, Young Master Shen said he would like to give you a ride."

She looked in the direction of the sound and saw a discreet car parked on the side of the road. Uncle Li leaned out of the window, smiling kindly.

Something's not right, absolutely not right!

Ni Qing felt a chill run down her spine, but she still smiled shyly and said gently, "Thank you, Chang Su."

The person in the back seat didn't say anything.

Only after she got into the car did the man's eyes, hidden in the darkness, look over. His profile was smooth and distinct, his skin was pale and cool, his nose was high and straight, and a small, inconspicuous mole could be faintly seen.

He still rested his chin on his hand, exuding a cool and aloof air. Only after the car started did he calmly speak: "I remember saying, don't let me see you again."

Uncle Li, who had been eavesdropping with a smile, suddenly sensed something was wrong. Before meeting his young master's gaze, he immediately raised the partition and drove with his eyes down.

Based on his understanding of the young master since childhood, he clearly liked this classmate very much.

Ni Qing was taken aback, never expecting that his purpose was here.

"Not even at school?" Her sick voice made her tone weak, and a hint of grievance could be detected.

The boy remained motionless, his black, tousled hair partially obscuring his eyes. He curled his lips into a breathtaking smile: "Otherwise what?" Though it was a smile, one could still sense no genuine joy, only a persistent irritation.

"Do you know what happened to the last person who did that?" He smiled thoughtfully. "And what makes you think you're the exception?"

Ni Qing thought about it and realized it made sense. That's how the male lead is supposed to be: he doesn't cause trouble, and while he has a cool and aloof personality, that doesn't mean he can be easily manipulated. On the contrary, it would be a big mistake to ignore his decisive and efficient actions just because of his cold appearance.

He forgives everyone who has offended him since childhood, but when it comes to matters of principle, he is truly vengeful.

She smiled knowingly, her true, wicked nature revealed: "I like you so much, how could you bear to let me go?"

The boy's previously relaxed expression froze instantly. He looked up at him, his tone puzzled, "But why can't I tell you like me? Aren't you just trying to use me? Like, to save the Ni family from bankruptcy?"

The amnesiac boy seemed to have become more talkative: "But your methods are really not very clever."

Ni Qing touched her nose, showing no embarrassment at being exposed: "Then would you be willing to let me use you once?"

This shameless behavior made Shen Changsu laugh in anger. His eyes were cold as he said bluntly, "You got into my car, not into a wishing well. Get out of there."

Ni Qing: "..."

This was the first time she had been so thoroughly rebuked, and she couldn't even think of any witty retorts.

Ni Qing was forced out of the car with a complicated expression, silently inhaling the fresh exhaust fumes.

Fortunately, it wasn't far from home, and she was afraid that Ni's mother would insist on having them stay for dinner again. She didn't take the boy's cold words to heart; instead, she found him even more endearing.

She hummed a tuneless tune with a smug look, and the Ni family mansion came into view. It was dark and gloomy inside, with an unsettling atmosphere, and very few lights were on.

Ni Qing's smile faded, and a rare seriousness appeared in her eyes.

She walked cautiously, almost reaching the bottom of the stairs, when suddenly she felt a gust of wind blow across her face. An object plummeted from the sky, crashing heavily onto the cobblestone path, splashing sticky, fishy liquid, accompanied by a momentary dull pain in the man.

All of this happened so suddenly that she stared wide-eyed, unwilling to think about it.

A scream came from the balcony.

She looked up absently. Ni's mother was dressed in disheveled clothes, and she didn't look like an elegant lady at all. She seemed to have drunk some wine; her cheeks were slightly flushed, but her lips were pale.

Her jet-black, shiny hair was disheveled, her eyes were dark red, and tears streamed down her smooth skin.

She nearly collapsed, yelling uncontrollably, "Ni Qing, close your eyes."

Ni Qing blinked mechanically, unable to resist looking down.

Ni's father committed suicide by jumping off a building right before her eyes.

The man was still wearing a suit, his face ashen, his body mangled and bloody, the blood spreading like a venomous snake in the darkness to her feet.

Then the woman stumbled downstairs, grabbed Ni Qing in her arms, and cried, tears streaming down her face, "Child! We're so sorry." Her voice was hoarse.

Ni Qing finally snapped out of her daze and pulled herself out of the emotions she had just been immersed in. She closed her eyes and hugged her trembling mother tightly, trying to offer her some comfort.

But it was no use; she knew that perfectly well.

The plot will follow its original trajectory: Ni's mother will suffer a mental breakdown, and the original owner will drop out of school and disappear without a trace.
