Transmigrating into a Book: Beating Up the Little Tyrant Today
Chapter 113 He Has a Problem
Li Nan ate snacks for lunch.
Blizzard thought he was hungry, but he hadn't eaten enough. It wasn't that he was reluctant to eat, so he naturally couldn't see the inferiority complex in his eyes.
During lunch, Blizzard finally confirmed that the two volunteers were genuinely unaware of the video incident and decided to move on to the next one, Li Nan.
Most athletes and volunteers would choose to eat at the nearest restaurant. The noodle shop where she and Sasha ate was crowded. The other volunteers knew she was looking for Li Nan, but they couldn't find her.
Blizzard could only think of contacting him after the afternoon matches started.
After a short rest, Sasha went to train her physical fitness, with Blizzard accompanying her.
Sasha remained as diligent as ever; hard work doesn't lie. She couldn't understand why anyone would harbor such malice towards someone striving to pursue their dreams.
A girl under eighteen years old, running around in competitions, climbing step by step, may not receive praise, but at the very least, she shouldn't receive slander.
"Little Snow."
Blizzard snapped out of his daze, "Eh."
Sasha flicked the ball with great interest, making a beautiful fingertip spin.
As the eel passed by picking up a ball, it said, "Xiaoxue, since you came, Sasha's training has seemed different."
"Am I that useful?" Blizzard said. "Then I'll give you a picture of me. Put it on your bedside table, and I guarantee you'll have divine assistance in the game!"
"...That thing is good at warding off evil spirits, that's why Qiu Shiyue doesn't dare to get close to you."
"It's already quite good that you can avoid Qiu Shiyue. She's the worst of the worst, so it's best not to let her get close."
Eel didn't know about the video, Blizzard didn't say anything, and Sasha didn't want to say anything either.
She also has to compete, so she shouldn't let her own affairs bother others.
Eel went back to practice. Since she had nothing else to do, and she had brought her racket, she took off her jacket and played ball with Sasha for a while. A volunteer saw Li Nan and sent her a photo.
"It turned out to be him."
Sasha also came over to look, "If it's him, it'll be much easier to ask him questions. We've spoken a few times, so when we find him later and start asking him, the conversation won't be so dry."
Blizzard: "What? What do you mean?"
Sasha: "You forgot what you asked those two volunteers at the noodle shop at noon. The first question was, 'Have you eaten?' and the second was, 'Have you seen any suspicious people?' They didn't know anything, so how would they know what a suspicious person was?"
So, her question was a bit direct, but it was effective. In just a few sentences, she answered what constituted a suspicious person: whether someone had intentionally approached Sasha's backpack and made unwanted physical advances.
They said no.
How quick! A simple greeting is all it takes, saving you the trouble of talking.
Blizzard stroked his chin. "This Li Nan seems a bit shy. If I'm too outgoing, I might scare him. So, when I see him, should I... choose my words a little carefully?"
“Yes, that’s possible,” Sasha nodded.
Sasha went on stage at 5 p.m., and Blizzard followed her in, helped her with her coat, opened a bottle cap, and sat down outside the venue. Right next to her sat the fourth volunteer she hadn't asked yet.
She sat down next to the girl, and while Sasha warmed up for two minutes, she decided to ask her first.
"Hello, what a coincidence, you're here too."
"...What a coincidence, we're both volunteers."
Blizzard: "Then I'll get straight to the point. What I really wanted to ask was—"
"I know," the girl said, suppressing a laugh. "Suspicious people, right? I didn't see any."
"Hey, I haven't said anything yet."
The girl said, "I heard you asking about those two."
The answer was really quick, but they still didn't get any information out of me.
"Didn't you really see someone approach Sasha's little white bag on the 6th?"
The girl subconsciously pinched the volunteer badge with the number three written on it around her neck and thought, "I really haven't seen it. There were a lot of people at the warm-up that day, coming and going, everyone was busy."
Blizzard gave up.
“You can ask him again,” the girl said, pointing behind the blizzard.
She turned her head and saw that Li Nan had returned.
"I don't know, don't ask me."
Li Nan, who was already sitting behind her, immediately stood up and moved to the seat furthest away from her as he spoke.
Blizzard and the girl exchanged a glance, then shrugged helplessly. Neither of them knew why he spoke so harshly.
On the court, Sasha swung her racket with all her might, while the players on both sides of the table ran ten thousand meters in place, all striving to get every ball onto the table.
With hair brimming with passion and clothes soaked with sweat, unpredictable landing points and constantly changing tactics, a point that seemed within reach was suddenly snatched back the next second. Blizzard was so engrossed in the game that he forgot about Li Nan. This is the charm of competitive sports.
Blizzard's head followed the ball's rotation, wishing he could go up and hit it himself. Just as his knees were about to turn red from slapping them, the match ended and Sasha won. She raised her arms and shouted, her voice louder than ten people combined.
When the camera focused on Blizzard, the girl next to her smiled helplessly and covered her face, not wanting to be on TV. She grabbed Blizzard's arm, trying to get her to sit down.
After Sasha left the stage, Blizzard handed her a towel, and the girl started rummaging through Blizzard's collar: "Did you put a microphone on your clothes? Otherwise, why is your voice so loud?"
Blizzard grabbed her hand: "My love for Sasha is the best loudspeaker."
The girl froze and looked at Sasha.
Sasha waved her towel and denied it: "I don't play this game."
Blizzard clutched his heart as if he were hurt, while the girl giggled beside him.
After the match ended, Blizzard watched Li Nan's figure walk further and further away. She went to find Li Nan first and asked the girl to accompany Sasha back first.
Blizzard rushed to catch up with Li Nan, but no matter how much she called out, he wouldn't turn around.
If she hadn't called out to the person walking opposite Li Nan and stopped him, who knows how long she would have chased him.
"Did I offend you? I'm a straightforward person. If I did, just say so and I'll apologize. We did share snacks, we're not friends, but we're not strangers either. I didn't mean any harm."
Li Nan wanted to leave, but Blizzard wouldn't let him.
“Did you hear us talking?” Blizzard paused. “I’m not some silent character from a TV show. I have to explain myself. We’re not talking badly about you behind your back, nor are we saying you’re the suspicious person. We were just asking casually. I asked the other two volunteers as well. Don’t take it personally.”
"Hmm." Li Nan lowered his head, trying to hide his emotions, but thankfully he did react.
Blizzard continued, "I believe you're not that kind of person. Look at you, enthusiastic yet knowing your place. You didn't try to get a bunch of autographs by sticking around Sasha, and you didn't bother her while she was resting. I think you're really great. If you have the chance to recruit volunteers next time, will you come again?"
Li Nan didn't say anything, but her ears turned red.
Blizzard knew when to stop and stopped blocking his path, letting him leave.
After Li Nan walked away, he didn't get on the hotel shuttle bus; instead, he turned a corner and disappeared.
It turns out I wasn't staying at the same hotel as them; no wonder I didn't see them in the lobby when we met up.
She went back to the car to look for Sasha. There were still some people who hadn't arrived yet. She caught up with them and got into the car, sitting next to Sasha.
Sasha gave her a piece of chocolate: "You'll have to go back by tomorrow at the latest, but we still don't have any leads."
"Yes," Blizzard said softly but with such certainty, "there's something wrong with this Li Nan."
