Tavern of the Spear: Desire for Pleasure
Chapter 135 The First Battle with Kurosawa
Hei Yao's words were full of disdain, as if Cheng Yu and Bai Yu in front of him were nothing more than two insignificant ants.
His personality seemed to change in an instant. Perhaps it was because he was thinking about his younger brother that his mood soured.
He slowly rose to his feet, the powerful aura emanating from him shattering the chair beneath him. Wood chips flew everywhere, raising a cloud of dust in the dimly lit room.
"Hmph, trash." Hei Yao glanced contemptuously at the shards on the ground, uttering two words. His back was to the two men, his broad silhouette as imposing as a mountain. Hei Yao casually raised one hand, his sharp dragon claw gleaming coldly, and lightly slashed across the empty space in the room.
"Shh-"
A pitch-black rift appeared out of nowhere, as if space itself had been torn apart by an invisible blade. From within the rift, countless digital cubes, shimmering with eerie light, surged forth wildly, filling the entire room like a flood bursting its banks. These cubes constantly shifted and twisted, eventually transforming into jumbled messes of code, emanating an unsettling aura.
"What...what is this?" Cheng Yu stared wide-eyed in horror; he had never seen such a bizarre sight before.
Bai Yu also frowned, his dragon power unconsciously circulating within him as he warily watched the garbled crack in front of him.
Without turning his head, Hei Yao's cold voice rang out: "What are you all standing there for? Do you want to stay here forever? Hurry up and follow me!"
Having said that, he leaped into the ever-expanding scrambled code without hesitation. His black figure was instantly swallowed up and vanished into the endless chaos.
Cheng Yu and Bai Yu exchanged glances, a hint of hesitation flashing in their eyes. But they knew they had no other choice at this moment.
"Let's go." Bai Yu took a deep breath and took the first step.
Cheng Yu followed closely behind, and the two rushed towards the garbled rift that exuded an eerie aura. Just before they were about to touch the rift, they both closed their eyes simultaneously.
……
A strong sense of weightlessness washed over Cheng Yu, and he felt as if his body was being torn into countless pieces, or as if it were being kneaded into a ball and tumbling in endless darkness.
He didn't know how much time had passed before the feeling gradually disappeared. Cheng Yu slowly opened his eyes and found himself standing on unfamiliar land.
The sky was an eerie purplish-red, without sun or clouds, only a few stars twinkling faintly.
Beneath our feet lay black, scorched earth, barren of vegetation, and the air was thick with the pungent smell of sulfur.
In the distance, towering black mountains rise abruptly from the ground, like ferocious beasts, silently watching over this desolate world.
"Where...is this place?" Cheng Yu murmured to himself, his eyes filled with confusion.
"This should be Kurosawa's territory," Bai Yu's voice came from nearby. He was standing not far away, looking around.
"Domain?" Cheng Yu looked at Bai Yu in confusion.
"Yes, it's a special space that only powerful individuals with a certain level of strength can create," Bai Yu explained. "In this realm, the creator is the master and can change the rules at will."
"Wouldn't we be in great danger?" Cheng Yu said with some concern.
"Don't worry, since Hei Yao brought us here, he won't let us die easily," Bai Yu comforted. "What we need to do now is find Hei Ze as soon as possible and deal with Bo Wen."
“Hmm.” Cheng Yu nodded. He knew Bai Yu was right, after all, only Bai Yu understood the space better here.
The two began to explore this unfamiliar land.
After walking for a long time, they discovered a huge black castle. The castle was built against the mountain, magnificent and imposing, with various strange runes covering its walls, exuding a suffocating aura.
"Kurosawa should be inside," Bai Yu said in a deep voice, looking at the castle in front of him.
"Let's go in then," Cheng Yu said.
The two approached the castle cautiously.
Suddenly, the castle gates slowly opened, and a deep, majestic voice rang out: "Come in, my children."
Cheng Yu and Bai Yu exchanged a glance, and without hesitation, stepped into the castle.
Inside the castle, it was dark.
Only a few flickering candles emitted a faint light.
At the far end of the castle, a tall figure sat on a throne.
The man was dressed in a long black robe and wore a crown. His face was hidden in the shadows and could not be seen clearly.
"You've arrived," the man said, his voice deep and authoritative.
"Are you Kurosawa?" Bai Yu asked.
“That’s right, it’s me. But that’s what I used to call myself. You should call me ‘Ze’ now.” Kurosawa slowly stood up, and a powerful aura emanated from him, instantly enveloping the entire castle.
Bai Yu felt as if a mountain was pressing down on him, making it difficult to breathe.
"What about Obsidian?" Bai Yu asked.
“Him? He went to find Bowen,” Ze said. “Don’t worry, he’ll handle everything.”
"We've come here to ask for your help," Bai Yu said.
“I know,” Kurosawa said. “Bowen is my disciple, and I also bear responsibility for his actions.”
"Would you be willing to help us?" Cheng Yu asked.
Cheng Yu looked at the unfamiliar Kurosawa, but soon, the voice of Obsidian in his mind answered his question.
"No doubt, this is Kurosawa. However, he only went halfway through his journey. The other half, because he lacks the knowledge part, can only stay here. His memories are incomplete, so you can make good use of them. Hehe, what a foolish little brother~" While explaining, Heiya also mocked her foolish little brother. It seems that she really dislikes this little brother.
And at the same time...
“Of course,” Kurosawa said, “but before that, I need to test your strength.”
"A test?" Bai Yu and Cheng Yu were both stunned.
“That’s right,” Kurosawa said. “Only those who pass my test will be qualified to fight alongside me.”
"So what should we do?" Bai Yu asked.
“It’s simple,” Kurosawa said. “Defeat me.”
"What?" Cheng Yu exclaimed in surprise, "How is this possible?"
“Nothing is impossible,” Kurosawa said. “Come on, let me see your strength.”
After saying that, he slowly raised one hand and gently waved it at Cheng Yu and Bai Yu.
Instantly, a powerful force struck, sending the two flying.
"Bang! Bang!"
The two fell heavily to the ground, spitting blood.
"So...so strong!" Bai Yu and Cheng Yu struggled to stand up, but found that they couldn't move at all.
"Is this Kurosawa's strength?" Cheng Yu also felt a sense of despair.
"You are too weak," Kurosawa's voice came. "With this kind of strength, there is no way you can defeat Bowen."
“We…” Cheng Yu wanted to say something, but Bai Yu interrupted him.
"We won't give up!" Cheng Yu said through gritted teeth, then mustered all his strength to stand up. "We will definitely defeat you!"
After saying that, he finally stood up with difficulty, and the dragon blood that had been temporarily hidden in his body began to circulate wildly, and his original human appearance began to change.
"Oh?" A hint of surprise flashed in Kurosawa's eyes. "Interesting."
"Again!" Cheng Yu roared, transforming into a white light and rushing towards the Black Swamp.
"Overestimating yourself." Kurosawa sneered and swung his palm again.
"boom!"
Cheng Yu was knocked away again and crashed heavily to the ground.
"Bai Yu!" Bai Yu called out anxiously.
"I...I'm fine." Cheng Yu struggled to stand up, blood trickling from the corner of his mouth.
"Shall we continue?" Kurosawa asked.
“Of course!” Cheng Yu said without hesitation.
“Alright, then let me see where your limits are,” Kurosawa said.
The two fought again.
However, the gap in strength was simply too great.
No matter how hard Cheng Yu tried, he couldn't shake Kurosawa in the slightest.
Time and time again, Cheng Yu was knocked to the ground.
Time and time again, he stubbornly stood up.
His body was covered in wounds.
His consciousness began to blur.
"Enough!" Bai Yu couldn't stand it anymore and tried to stop Cheng Yu.
“No… I can still… continue…” Cheng Yu stood swaying, but his eyes remained firm.
"Are you crazy?" Bai Yu roared. "You'll die!"
“I…can’t…give up…” Cheng Yu said, “I…must…defeat him…”
"Why?" Bai Yu didn't understand. "Why are you working so hard?"
“Because…” Cheng Yu looked at the pendant that his master had once hung on his chest, a hint of tenderness flashing in his eyes, “Because… I want to protect my master…”
"Protect your master?" Bai Yu was stunned.
“That’s right…” Cheng Yu said, “I… love Master… so… I can’t let him… continue to get hurt because of me…”
"Master..." Bai Yu's eyes welled up with tears.
Bai Yu stared blankly at Cheng Yu, who was covered in wounds in his arms, a complex emotion welling up inside him. He had never imagined that this junior brother, who usually seemed a bit unreliable, would harbor such deep feelings for their master.
In his memory, both his masters were powerful beings, almost invincible. No matter what kind of enemy they faced, they could always deal with them with ease and had never suffered a defeat. Therefore, Bai Yu never worried about his masters' safety; he even felt that his masters could never be injured, much less be destroyed.
But Bai Yu's "lack of worry" doesn't mean others will feel the same way. For Cheng Yu, his master is the most important person in his heart, the warmest light in his life.
In his previous life, when Cheng Yu was just an ordinary human, he had never experienced true warmth. From the moment he was born, he was destined to be an orphan. Life in the orphanage brought him no joy; instead, it made him even more lonely. Those neglected children lived in a gray world, where only virtual, unreal things could offer them a sliver of security.
Cheng Yu came into contact with orc culture because he discovered that many orc enthusiasts shared similar experiences. They all lived in a gray, gloomy world, where only virtual and unreal things could bring them a sense of security.
However, everything changed when Cheng Yu came into this world. The first person to make him feel warmth was his master. His master's care and teachings allowed Cheng Yu to experience the feeling of being loved for the first time. This feeling was so warm and so precious that Cheng Yu was willing to protect it with his own life.
"Master..." Cheng Yu called out weakly, his eyes filled with longing.
Bai Yu looked at Cheng Yu, a sharp pain piercing his heart. He finally understood why Cheng Yu had fought so desperately. Because for Cheng Yu, his master was everything, the most important person in his life.
"You...you rest for a bit, I'll help you..." Bai Yu tried to help Cheng Yu up, but Cheng Yu refused.
"No...I...I can...continue..." Cheng Yu struggled to stand up, but his body had reached its limit and he couldn't move at all.
"You'll die if you do this!" Bai Yu said anxiously.
“I…I’m not afraid…” Cheng Yu’s eyes remained firm. “I…must…protect…Master…”
"Is it worth it?" Bai Yu asked.
“It’s worth it…” Cheng Yu answered without hesitation, “For my master… I’m willing to do anything…”
"You..." Bai Yu didn't know what to say.
“Bai Yu…you…you don’t understand…” Cheng Yu looked at Bai Yu, a trace of sadness flashing in his eyes, “You…have two masters…you…will never…lose them…but…I…only…have one master…”
"If...I...lose my master...I...will have nothing left..."
"I..." Bai Yu opened his mouth, but found that he couldn't say anything.
He had never imagined what it would feel like to lose his master. Because in his mind, his master would never leave him.
But Cheng Yu's words made him realize how lucky he was. He had the love of two masters, and this love was so precious and hard-won.
“I understand…” Bai Yu took a deep breath, his eyes hardening. “I won’t let you die.”
"I will... stay with you... to protect Master."
After saying that, Bai Yu helped Cheng Yu up and let him lean against him.
“Next… let’s…” Bai Yu said.
"Hmm..." Cheng Yu nodded weakly.
The two stood side by side, facing the powerful Kurosawa.
"Oh? You two seem to have a deep bond." Kurosawa looked at the two of them, a playful smile on his lips. "However, that doesn't change anything."
"Is that so?" Bai Yu said coldly. "Then let's give it a try."
After speaking, Bai Yu unleashed a powerful spatial arcane magic, and black and white light instantly enveloped his entire body.
"Primordial arcane arts of time and space?" A hint of surprise flashed in Kurosawa's eyes. "You have actually mastered such powerful forces."
"I have to thank your good apprentice for this," Bai Yu said. "If it weren't for his extensive knowledge, I might never have been able to master this power."
"Hmph, so what if you've mastered the power of spacetime? You're still no match for me," Kurosawa said. "Both of you, come at me together."
"That's exactly what I was thinking!" Bai Yu said.
"Bai Yu...be careful..." Cheng Yu weakly reminded him.
"Don't worry, I'll protect you," Bai Yu said.
After saying that, Bai Yu transformed into a black and white flash of light and rushed towards Hei Ze.
"Well done!" Kurosawa laughed loudly and swung out a palm to meet Bai Yu.
"boom!"
The two powerful forces collided with each other, causing a deafening roar that shook the earth.
The entire castle began to shake violently, as if it were about to collapse at any moment.
"puff!"
Bai Yu coughed up blood and flew backward.
"Bai Yu!" Cheng Yu exclaimed, wanting to step forward, but Bai Yu stopped him.
"I'm fine..." Bai Yu wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth, stood up again, and said, "Let's do it again!"
After saying that, he charged at Kurosawa again.
"Overestimating yourself!" Kurosawa sneered and swung out another palm strike.
"boom!"
Bai Yu was knocked away again.
"Bai Yu!" Cheng Yu called out anxiously.
"I...I'm fine..." Bai Yu struggled to stand up, his injuries getting worse.
"Shall we continue?" Kurosawa asked.
"Of course! Since my brothers haven't given up, how can I give up?" Bai Yu said without hesitation.
“Alright, then let me see where your limits are. Don’t end up like you, a pretty but useless vase like your brother,” Kurosawa said.
The two fought again.
This time, Bai Yu was not easily knocked away.
Using his dragon form, he engaged in a fierce battle with Kurosawa.
"Boom! Boom! Boom!"
Inside the castle, deafening roars echoed continuously.
The figures of the two flickered continuously within the castle.
"boom!"
Bai Yu was knocked away again and crashed heavily to the ground.
"Bai Yu!" Cheng Yu tried to step forward, but found that he couldn't move at all.
"I...I'm fine..." Bai Yu struggled to stand up, blood trickling from the corner of his mouth.
"Do you want to continue? If you keep doing this, you're going to die..." Kurosawa asked again, clearly hesitant as he said this.
"Of course! I am the most outstanding disciple of both my masters!" Bai Yu said without hesitation.
